John Mayoras represented a member of my family recently. What a blessing John was to us. He patiently explained the consequences for the charges to him (which were felony charges).He reviewed all the facts before the trial.with him to be sure he had accurate information. John went over everything with him. John did everything he could to get the best outcome at the trial. John not only spoke with our family member but also spoke with us about what was going to happen in court. Most times lawyers don't even acknowledge the family that is very distraught over what is happening to their loved one. John may have been a court appointed attorney but we couldn't have gotten any better representation if we had hired an attorney. I would recommend John Mayoras to anyone that needs a really good dedicated lawyer.

Mr. Mayoras is a rock solid attorney. If you want representation in a Northern Virginia criminal case, trust me, you will have no regrets if you select Mr. Mayoras as your Defense Attorney. In August 2015, my daughter was a victim of assault and pressed charges against her aggressor. The aggressor counter-charged my daughter. Mr. Mayoras was selected as her public defender. Prior to the hearing, Mr. Mayoras engaged with the prosecutor and maintained contact with us. On the day of the trial I observed other cases prior to ours being heard, I saw weak defense attorneys lose repeatedly to the tough prosecutor. As my daughter was called forward I started to worry. Mr. Mayoras was a rock solid attorney as he cross-examined the defendant who counter-charged my daughter capitalizing on every weakness and inconsistency. He not only had my daughter’s counter-charge dismissed but his piercing argument ensured that the aggressor received a conviction. I was absolutely impressed. A year later my son broke up with his girlfriend. In her anger, in March 2016, she chose to file charges of strangulation, assault, and battery saying that my son tried to kill her. A felony warrant was issued for the strangulation and a misdemeanor warrant was issued for the assault and battery. At that moment our lives changed forever. If convicted, my son, a United States Marine, was facing a five-year prison sentence and discharge from the military with no hope of ever finding decent employment in the United States. Life as he knew it would be over for the rest of his life. I called Mr. Mayoras to take the case even though I knew he only practiced in Northern Virginia. Although he warned me that he had no insight into the Norfolk courts, based on my previous observations, I believed that if anyone could save my son, it would be Mr. Mayoras. Upon taking the case, he did extensive research and kept us informed of his strategy to win. With months of preparation we went to trial in October 2016. Like my previous encounter in court a year earlier I observed multiple weak defense attorneys lose to the tough prosecutors leading to multiple convictions. At the end of the day, the last case to be heard, my son was called to trial. I started to get concerned as the prosecutor started to build a case against my son. However, as every prosecuting witness was brought forward, Mr. Mayoras processed every word that was stated exploiting every weakness and inconsistency in their testimony through cross-examination. He challenged the relevance of certain witnesses who as a result did not even get to testify. Then it was the time for the defense to take action. Short, straight, and to the point he built a bullet-proof defense with only two witnesses and the defendant. Sharp, smart, and one step ahead of the game, he even recalled one of the prosecuting witnesses and manipulated the individual to testify in favor of my son. The strength in the prosecutor’s case had dwindled by the end of the trial through the skill and mental agility of Mr. Mayoras. The judge dismissed both charges and my son was a free man with a life ahead of him. Think about it, Mr. Mayoras won this case despite having never entered the Norfolk courthouse previous to this. I challenge you not just to take my word for it. You have one chance to win or lose a case. Call him and find out when he is next in court. It will cost you nothing to see him first hand in action as he handles his case. I promise that you will be absolutely impressed. You don’t have to choose him, but please make your selection only after seeing him handle a case in court. I am in the military and am due to rotate to Florida next year. My only regret is that Mr. Mayoras is not bar certified in Florida! Good luck to you. Choose your defense attorney wisely.

Pinsker Law is an amazing firm. Matt is extremely knowledgeable and very responsive. One of the few attorneys you can actually get on the phone! The entire staff is very responsive and professional. I even referred a family member to Matt recently and will continuously recommend him to friends and family. I cannot recommend this firm enough for all your criminal and traffic needs. Nothing beats a personal, yet professional environment when dealing with these types of cases.

Mr. Collier was extremely good to work with and his professionalism was way above expectations. I was originally schedule to work with his partner, David Carlson but due to an emergency I was recommended to him instead. Now, think about a highly specialized surgeon doctor, someone with a vast array of knowledge and steady hands. Also capable of explaining difficult terminology into layman's terms, always with a great attitude, and patience. Mr. Collier is definitely a doctor in his field. He has helped me win a case that I thought was already lost. Did I mention his positive attitude and hardwork? He even called me on Sunday to accommodate my work schedule. My only wish is that I could pay him more money because he is definitely worth it. He has helped me maintain my name clear of any wrong doings and I would definitely reach out to him if I need assistance in the future.

David Carlson is a horrible lawyer, the kind that gives most lawyers bad names. He only cares about himself and how much $$$ he can make off you and take advantage of your legal situation at the point you needed help the most. After you agree on the retainer fee and hire him, afterward, he will make your case sound so difficult and then request/demand more $$$ without or having to do extra work. His law and client skills are also not great neither. Stay away and do not hire this lawyer unless you like throwing away hard-earned $$$. Don’t believe all the good reviews on this site. I am pretty sure that our negative review/opinion would get deleted or not even posted. If we have more time to deal with it, we would have file a complaint to the Virginia State Bar. We would even give him one star but had to to post our review.

There are not enough words to express how amazing our experience with Mr.Carlson and his team has been. They are compassionate, understanding, honest, and hard working. When we called them for help, a reassuring person answered the phone. Ms. Lisa has been there from the beginning to the end. She is very nice and just amazing. If I could give this law firm "Jud Collier" a zero if I could. Please please please stay away from this attorney. We hired him to represent my brother in a case. Our initial meeting was great of course telling us what he could and would do for the case. The moment we retained him, he became the hardest person to get in contact with. We would have to leave message after message at the office, via text messages and email which took days sometimes a week for him to return our calls. Secondly his story changed on how he would go about representing my brother as far as defense. All of a sudden the the case is so so hard ,difficult and not leaving him any ways to win the case or lessen charges but during the first meeting he was so confident that he could help.. Then after the case went to court oh let me not fail to mention going into court we didn't even know his defense before the trial. Let me just say his defense was a 'JOKE' and I repeat a " JOKE" he promised he would be taking some actions regarding the outcome of the case to help my brother... ummmmm well every call, text message and email as gone unanswered. I contacted him on November 11, 2018 and I still haven;t heard from him. All about the money !!!! He can not be trusted.. We paid this man over 10K and we would've gotten a better outcome representing ourselves in court.

Debra D. Corcoran is one of the most genuine and most morally upstanding lawyers and person I know. When she joined my father's case 6 years ago with Craig Cooley, she and him did everything they can within her jurisdiction to prove my father's innocence. One of the many reasons why I trust her more than any of the other lawyers out there is that she fights for the truth and justice and just made us feel at ease when hope was very dim for my father! Tony is a tremendously professional attorney that really knows his stuff. I contacted 2 attorneys offices prior to choosing Tony. Tony was confident and really seemed to understand the specific courthouse and immediately offered a plan. The second attorney I called was “cheaper” (and I think I understand why). He was negative and had zero optimism towards the case. He spoke to me as if he was the judge and stated the best I’d get was a reduced ticket. I hired Tony and in about 45 seconds in front of the judge “all charges were dismissed” ! I can’t promise everyone will have the same outcome, but hire good attorney like Tony to at least get the best outcome you can VS an attorney who’s already chosen your outcome during the consultation.

Nick Wright from The Weiland Firm, PLC in Richmond, Virginia is an amazing attorney. I am a New Jersey resident who was stopped by a police officer and summoned to court for not changing lanes while passing a police car with flashing lights in Virginia. Upon contacting Nick he immediately informed me what my rights and options were. I called Mike on short notice, he asked for 2 things my court date, and my charge. He said meet there at 9am and asked for simple documentation I needed to acquire. I had no real expectations aside from the fact he came HIGHLY recommended. He went above and beyond, up against a cop who wanted to give me time for HIS own mistake, and inability to read documentation correctly. Mike would not have any of it. Mind you the cop that had charged me has also been well known to “target” some acquaintances and friends of mine as well. I’ll just say we all share similar traits and characteristics. Where do I begin. Though I have never been in legal trouble before an alcohol-induced momentary lapse of judgement had me facing very serious charges for contravening the law. I was seeking solace in professional representation. I found that and so much more in this law firm specifically with my lawyer Edward Nickel. From the moment he received my case he was scrupulous in his attempts at finding me a resolution I would find equitable. He was extremely patient with me and asswaged a lot of my fears during the long four month process.
