WARNING: simple divorce cost 38,000 dollars. Never went to court once. I was told I was family and would never hurt me. Well he did. My sister just passed away he did her final papers. My brother in law recommended him to me. I hired him for a certain amount of money but he decided to hand my case to another lawyer. Not telling me that she was going to charge me over 300.00 dollars an hour. There was many mistakes made many. I found out I was divorced from my kids. No call from my lawyer just and email that he charged me for but the email was way after the divorce was final. I have met with 4 lawyers who are sad that these kind of lawyers give them a bad name. Office staff will tell u he will be in the office today, a week later he will call u and say I was on vacation. Happens 6 times. Also he had 5 different people working on a divorce which means you pay all 5. Very unorganized overpriced lawyer. I would not recommend ANYONE to use this company. He didn't get anything for me other than the state law requires. Feeling ripped off taken advantage of. I stopped getting billing statements as soon as soon as he got a 40,000 lean against my home. He always said He would find out why no billing statements but of course never did. He made sure he used it all. Be very careful who u choose for a lawyer even if they say there family. Choose wisely!! Didn't finish my case the 38,000 did NOT cover the QDRO. Separation of retirement. Wanted a 1,000 to do it. Got it done for 300.00 by a respectable paralegal. If you need a lawyer call the BBB they will recommend you someone who will not RIP u off feeling defeated. Please choose wisely!!! Sterns and Sterns took a quarter of my earnings. Only got what the state law says so I could have hired anybody. Just beware!!!!! I also had a budget BUT he decided to stop billing me so he took off with my budget! Also paid to get my ex-husband's paychecks garnished and paid Ryan for it. I paid for it but it never happened. I will continue to tell people please call the BBB they will get you a lawyer and not take your money. Now that I have used Ryan and two other lawyers and a paralegal I know for sure that sterns and sterns over charged me by thoudands. I was told that $38,000 was way too much for what I got. Ryan made an agreement with me over the phone for a certain amount of money and decided to change All on his own. Please think about who you were hiring even if they say they are family look into their business find out not who they are as a person who they are as a businessman. I trusted him and so did my family but he has lost more respect than he will ever know. I just want people to be aware and know what they're getting and just because somebody says their family get it in writing. I tried to talk to Ryan and resolve this. He wouldn't budge he hardly had anything to say because he knew he was wrong. My new lawyer would have charged me at the very most $15,000. So just remember that when you go to look for a lawyer remember what Stearns and Stearns did to me and probably others too. Lawyers aren't rock stars! So years later I see all the charges I did not get sevice for. Beware call the BBB. Don't you think your lawyer would go over the divorce papers with you.? No no nothing he mailed me my divorce papers and never spoke to me about what I was getting. Also he never ever checked in to make sure my name was off the house loan. He really really screwed me over and if I were you I would not use him as a lawyer. Please look it up this lawyer has been disciplined by the licensing authorities. Look it up.

I can't say enough nice things about the lawyers at Stearns Kim & Stearns who helped me. I knew I couldn't afford a costly divorce, and they handled it beautifully. Ryan Stearns was really helpful in explaining to me how to get our property divided and support established, and even outlined a budget to get it done. He did explain to me that he couldn't guarantee staying on this budget, since litigation can be unpredictable, but I appreciated that he was upfront and honest about that. Fortunately they were able to keep my case on budget! I really liked how straightforward Mr. Stearns’ and his lawyers were, they were all so helpful! Mr. Nolan is an exceptional lawyer when he represented me with my family law case. Not only with the outcome of my case but with how he approached the matter. I retained Castellanos & Associates in 2013. I was married for over 24 years. I had thought the case would be simple as we did not have any minor children. My husband had a good job and a pension. However, I was wrong. The case became very toxic. My ex hired a lawyer and wanted to fight about everything we owned, including not wanting to pay support. At one point, he told me that he wanted to leave me with nothing. Thank god for attorney Edwin Castellanos and his staff. They fought for me and made sure I received everything I was legally entitled to. My case lasted five years because my Husband would not settle and wanted to litigate everything. Mr. Castellanos has a very busy practice and is often in Court, but he explained that to me when I first hired him. I could have gone with another lawyer, but Mr. Castellanos was very patient with me and explained the entire process to me. I never felt that he had something else to do when he was with me. Even though my husband hired a very aggressive lawyer to intimidate me. I would say his lawyer was a loudmouth. Mr. Castellano's knowledge of family law won over the Judge. I found out through this case that it's not who is louder but smarter. I won my case because of the excellent work and preparation of Castellanos & Associates. Since my case ended, I have referred Edwin Castellanos to various friends and family, and I heard that they had received the same level of representation that I got. I wanted to write this review because I want other people going through the same thing I went through to get the best possible legal representation I got. I was a client of Fernandez & Karney, whom worked tirelessly to settle my case. Please be aware that divorce brings out the worst in people and there are reviews here that are purely acts of revenge (ie, not from actual clients). I will try to be brief, but know that there's no way I can summarize all the things I'm happy about with regards to this firm! First, here's my advice on deciding on a family law firm: decide if you need a lot of attention/hand holding or if you're comfortable with a team approach. There are pros/cons to both. F&K is going to be a team approach, you will not deal with just one main attorney and their assistant/associate. But, F&K's team approach is more cost effective and I liked having multiple view points. I think this is where people get confused when dealing with a firm like F&K, you have to be flexible and know your case- no one is going to hold your hand the whole time, but you can choose to spend a lot more money for that kind of assistance. Their approach worked well for me, but might not be for everyone. Now, here's a little about the specifics of my case. I tried to settle all issues outside of court, but unfortunately my ex was set to fight on every matter. So, I had issues with every aspect of my divorce: support, child custody, division of assets and property, etc. Throughout the entire process, F&K faced much adversity, aggression and gaslighting from my ex. They were always professional, stood their ground, were ready with sound advice and fought very hard for my case. My case was extremely difficult and F&K was a rock of support! In the end, my settlement was good and bad. But this is what to expect when you're dealing with the uncertainty of the legal system- nothing is black and white, you must make concessions in order to move on with your life.

My story is quite simple but serves as a cautionary tale for all single parents going through legal difficulties within the family law system. Five years ago, I was advised to seek mediation services as I was going through divorce proceedings. The advice I received was to be a 'nice guy', work with the other parent in order to resolve issues, create a mutually fair court order and seek child development services from third parties. But, after going down that road for many years and realizing that my father's rights were being trampled upon and outright ignored, I finally had enough and decided to seek the services of Michael Nathans. My results may be an outlier, but within 8 weeks, we had a court date, documents prepared, forms filed and everything finalized. I was able to obtain 50-50 custody of my son along with resolving many issues that had previously been ignored. We now had a signed court order that was fair and I attribute this amazing outcome solely to Michael's hard work, diligence, tremendous speed and work ethic. After availing myself of his services, I realized that I had made a mistake previously (with the other mediator). My son and I wasted many years of our lives trying to seek a fair outcome. Michael proved to be a STRONG advocate for me and fought hard for my rights. Therefore, if you're in the same boat and find yourself with seemingly insurmountable issues, hire Mr. Nathans ASAP and don't make the same mistake I did long ago. You will not be disappointed !!!

Michael is no doubt an exceptionally brilliant and highly skilled lawyer that I have came across. The way he leads the case in the court is truly impressive. His strategy on each aspect of the case is crystal clear and his execution plan focuses on meeting all the client needs. He doesn’t leave any minute details and bring up solid arguments throughout the trial to prove his point. I do like his strategy of bringing up out of the box ideas and thinking beyond the case to find out more information which we never thought of before. He has been very much involved with us and set the right focus for us that helped us to do better prepare for the case. I was referred to Provinziano & Associates by my family lawyer here in Arizona because of their expertise in jurisdiction. Me and my ex had an informal written agreement that our kids would live with me in AZ through the school year and visit him in CA on school breaks. On spring break of this year, my ex did not put my kids back on the plane home and ghosted me for 2 days. Because of jurisdictional issues, I needed a CA attorney to represent me and make the case that my kids are residents of AZ so we could have our case here. She listens to every concern you have and tries her best to get it done in a timely manor. I even received calls and emails over the weekend from her so she can get things done. She’s worth every penny.

Terry Beyers was so compassionate in my sensitive case. I'm sure she has heard so many stories but listensed to my story as if it was her first time hearing about my type of case. When I had questions and contacted her by text, she would respond rapidly. I highly recommend her.

Mrs Beyers is the rarity in Family Law. She does not over reach and tells the truth about a massively broken system. She puts children first, and tries to get both sides to get to their separate futures. My divorce was a worst case scenario, and Mrs Beyers was brought in on limited scope to salvage what was gross misconduct by all against her client. She guided me (the father) to the places i need to be and is retained for support matters. As it only takes one to make a nasty divorce and my ex is that one.
