When I knew divorce was imminent, I had a recommendation from a parent at my child's school to sit down with Shana. I hired Shana based upon the initial meeting and the very first hearing, Shana all but demanded I take my wife at the time up on her offer to reconciliate. I knew this was a trap, merely to get a restraining order I had filed dropped. As I predicted, my X immediately filed for divorce upon me dropping the restraining order. There seemed to be zero prior planning done for my multiple hearings. Shana often misspoke, and brushed off procedural errors by the court initially, that inevitably led to me firing her as my attorney. I would get the opposing party agreeing to sign a custody agreement, and Shana would not send the documents requiring signatures. There were always excuses as to her lack of initiative and timeliness. Shana always made sure to collect her money in a very timely manner, which would make sense if she produced results. My children were abducted by their mother and fled the state as a result of Shana not getting a judges signature on our custody agreement, that I negotiated with my X... not Shana. My X had an attorney that would write her declarations. I had to write my own declarations, and demand she begin writing them based on her fees. I represented myself in NC and secured full custody myself. I have been legally separated for a year and 4 months. I had my X agree to sign a divorce agreement, then spent months begging Shana to send the document. Then she attempted to say I was unclear in my requests. Honestly I liked Shana, and ignored everyone's advice to drop her early on. Simply because of hearing her on the phone with her daughter after court one day, she had her pull over so they could pray together, her daughter was distraught about something. Being a Christian, I chose to stick with her. My major complaint is how much money Shana was given, and how few results 35K yielded. I'm filing a complaint and seeking reimbursement. I had 4 lawyers in 4 different states during these hellish past two years. Shana was the highest paid, and yielded the fewest victories or results.

Don’t take Julie O Wolf’s sweet voice and demeanor for granted she is a beast in the courtroom. She will fight for you like no other. Julie was wonderful during my case. I had an unusual situation and Julie was clear on how the outcome may play out. She does not sugar coat anything and fights tooth and nail for the protection of the child and encourages her clients to make rational and healthy decisions during their case. After being an emotional wreck (which she could of probably charged me a mental health service fee????) I was able to settle and have the most time with my son as possible. Highly recommended.

ZERO STARS ACTUALLY!!! I reached out to Julie Wolff to represent me in court so I can file for 50/50 custody of my children, modify visitation, and modify child support. She sent me an intake form to fill out which I had filled out same day and sent it back. Julie followed up with me to have a 20 minute consultation. Julie is not my first lawyer and I have never heard of a 20 minute consultation. After she quickly ended that phone call her main concern was how she was accepting first payment or retainer. I told her multiple times on the phone that my insurance covers my payment in full for custody and visitation. I told her, the only thing I would have to pay is for child support and that is a reduced rate of 25% of regular rate bye attorney. Along with me explaining that to her verbally I also emailed her all of my case assist confirmation numbers MULTIPLE TIMES. These numbers pull up my case and EXPLAIN WHAT I AM COVERED UNDER AND HOW PAYMENT OF ATTONEY FEES WORK FROM MY INSURANCE. My insurance also advices any attorneys that do not know the coverage for said plan member to call direct and they will happily assist them in what is covered. This was too much for Julie to do and she asked that I call to verify what she will be payed and too email her with what they say. Aside from what I am covered under, I also said I don't care what I need to pay or how much it will cost I just need to get the ball rolling for my paperwork, because everyday that goes bye is affecting my children. Still did not matter. She kept requesting papers that I have emailed to her 3 different times at this point, and would not accept a phone call, text message or physical appointment to straighten the confusion out. What she did instead was email me the same email three different times requesting what I have already sent her. SEE MY FRUSTRATION!!!??? Julie did not try helping, calling, or explaining anything to me to try and get her what she needs. She felt sending the same email two more times (which clearly was in confusion) was the best and most professional way of handling that, thus leading me to not even accept her as an attorney being as difficult as she was. When people seek out Attorneys I personally do not feel that whomever they choose to represent them, should make they're life simply more difficult with no clear direction. In my benefit she made it very easy for me to know what kind of Attorney I am looking for, so, Thank you Julie Wolff... I see you come back at people with negative reviews and attack their character thus proving my point of unprofessionalism. please don't attack my character this was a review of your work ethic and how you handle your Law Firm. STEP IT UP!!! Please do not try saying that I am a "BOGUS SCAMMER" either, I am very real.

I have used this firm three times in 10 years. Five stars each time. Divorce in 2010 with David representing me, then a property dispute with my ex in 2016 that worked out very favorably for me, and finally in helping me with a prenup (no jokes about not learning my lesson). Kyle is an easy going "surfer dude" who knows his stuff. When my fiance's lawyer wanted to add language at the last minute, he made a very reasonable and convincing argument (in front of that other lawyer) that was a slam dunk for my side. I hope I never need their services again but I would definitely recommend them. If you hire them, they are on your side and not trying to gouge you with superfluous "lawyer" billings.

After calling three or more other family law attorneys, and after explaining my situation, their response was "that my situation was one that they were not familiar with"or as one put it "would not know where to start", I was very relieved to have found Wilkinson & Finkbeiner. Me and my husband were served papers from my 11 year old daughters father who had NEVER been involved with her EVER, but in between stints in prison, all of a sudden wanted custody and visitation. Went to court 3 times, due to him being arrested numerous times during the court proceedings. Finally we decided to get a lawyer to stop playing these games. We met Scott, and IMMEDIATELY knew we picked the right lawyer!! He ABSOLUTELY killed it in court, and actually got his RIGHTS TERMINATED......which in California is extremely difficult. Stay away from this Attorney !!!! I swear, this is the worst attorney I have ever dealt with. I hired Sami for my divorce case since June 2020 as he recommended by Yelp in San Diego area. From that time until now (May 2021) Sami has done nothing except submit the divorce papers in the court since June. I'm contacting him periodically by phone and email to inquire about what he is doing for the case, but without any response !!! Unfortunately, a whole year has been wasted for nothing!! I paid him a flat fee amount of $2,435 for nothing !! Again, don't lose your money and time. Don't hire this guy. I just want to comment on your reply to my review. Would you please explain which tasks you have completed? You do nothing!!!! You charged a flat fee for nothing, if you did something please explain it. Just check your email and phone and see how many emails and calls without any responses!!! Is that your professionalism to deal with your clients? Have you asked me for extra fee and I refused? You just let me wait for a whole year for nothing. I hired another attorney, she completed all the requirements and she got the trail within one month only!! Once again, you charged me the fees for nothing you did !!!

This review is really long over due. But I feel like I should write it in order to help others in search for a good attorney, just like I was 2 years ago. Sami is a great attorney, very knowledgable, professional, honest and efficient. He won't sugar coat or give you just the unswear you want to hear, but he is honest and compassionate. He empathizes with his clients. Divorcing was the hardest experience in my life. It was a difficult divorce and Sami was able to make it less stressful with his knowledge and personality. He has a way to calm things down. While lots of attorneys out there will try to escalate the conflicts in order to make more money, Sami will try to calm things down in order to solve the conflicts easier. Thank you Sami.

Stay away from Ms. Hearn unless you want incompetent representation and someone who only cares about cashing your checks. She "represented" a close friend in a custody dispute her with ex-husband. I am aware of everything she did and didn't do during the time she represented my friend as I was left to help clean up some of the mess. Ms Hearn failed to communicate with or respond to my friend repeatedly, failed to timely file important documents, claimed she served her adversary on dates when she never did, and failed to write letters to opposing counsel after repeated requests to do so. One of the letters she did write had to be completely rewritten because it looked like it was written by a third grader. My friend was forced to hire another local attorney and now she is severely prejudiced because of Ms. Hearn's gross ineffective assistance. The absolute ONLY thing she cares about is getting paid. I'd search for another attorney in the area if you need help because Ms. Hearn is not the answer you are looking for.

I highly recommend Tara Yelman and her team. I used Yelman & Associates in my divorce. She was ethical, provided outstanding advice through this trying time, and I found her billing to be transparent and highly efficient. I found her to always be better prepared than her opposing counsel. She was always the one to recommend creative ways to resolve negotiation sticking points. And her knowledge of the law and judicial procedure in court was outstanding -- helping to shorten the process and work with me and my ex to find solutions that worked for both of us. Even after the proceedings, she has provided ongoing guidance for how to manage the issues that pop up post divorce -- which has been crucial in helping my family move on from the process. Again, I highly recommend.

Hands down all the way for Tara Yelman. She was g-d sent. A true attorney who wants the best for their client. I've met with other lawyers prior to retaining her. There are a lot of attorneys who are just there for your money and don't want to work hard including after hours, holidays, weekends. They just want to settle and take the easy way out. Unlike, Tara she put her 110% into your case and her expert advice is incredible. She's worth every PENNY! She works nights, weekends and even holidays if there is something serious. Remember folks, stuff happens when its after "office hours" or you get served for an Emergency hearing on Friday at 4 pm to appear in court on Monday or Tuesday morning. You have to be ready for whatever comes your way! Tara ,you are the best including your right hand Geoff and others!!

I went through a "very challenging" divorce with 4 children that kept me in court for a decade on and off. I used another firm with two different lawyers and was able to measure how effective they were as compared with Sara @ Yelman. Without hesitation, I can say Sara and her team were twice as effective at half the cost. I cannot begin to express the complexity of my situation, but it was challenging given the circumstances. Unfortunately I became fairly experienced at the process, language and arguments used in my cases over the past 10 years. I've seen the quality of the arguments made on my behalf and Sara always had clear thoughts and rational behavior with opposing counsel and the court. The team at Yelman did great work. Most important in this process is the cost. Clients are often driven apart by their lawyers, which benefits only the firms involved. Trust me -- I experienced this before Yelman, as did my ex. Sara did not inflame for the benefit of further court actions (and therefore fees). She protected me as a client but was always rational about the options presented to me concerning my decisions. Moving to Yelman over the past 4 years was the best financial choice I made over this extraordinarily challenging phase of my life. I am so grateful for their representation and guidance, and I highly recommend them for complex family law representation.

Perhaps the thing that impressed me most about Michelle Paul was nothing was ever "sugar coated". She was very straight forward and told me what to expect each step of the way. Going thru the separation and divorce process from start to finish, Michelle kept me informed of each step and what the options were and what the risks were. There were no empty promises made just to keep the client happy which I know sometimes occurs when seeking counsel. Even though I filed for divorce, 6 months later I had a change of heart and decided to have Michelle stop the divorce two weeks before going to court. Second time I've worked with this law firm, specifically Mr. Matteson. On my own personal experience Scott and Matteson Family Law have worked in the most professional manner. They respond fast to all phone calls, message, etc. Mr. Matteson is on top of his game! Straight forward type of lawyer that will guide the case to the right path. In my case, I tried to settle on my own. Opposing counsel was very aggressive and pushed me to a point where I had to hire someone. Highly recommend the team of professionals at Primus. I'm an active duty service member and they worked hard and were very realistic and attentive to my case. I got my kids back after the navy sent me away and my ex went to mork on me. Definitely worth every penny and I was able to win my case all due to the support and work my lawyer and her paralegal i won't name drop them but they rock. I would Absolutely recommend them to anyone going the a divorce or custody battle.

Kimberly is very professional and hard working. I didn’t think I would have a chance of getting my daughter back. Kimberly fought hard. She is always responsive and caring. She was always aggressive and strong in the court. I was very lucky to have her fight by my side. I will never forget her. I followed Kimberly from her previous firm. I made sure to have Kimberly. Worst law firm I have ever dealt with! Represented my daughter for two ten minute hearings. Came totally unprepared, did not defend my daughters position at all! Paid $4000 for the twenty minutes of representation and fired them! Then they sent my daughter a $2500 bill on top of that. Insane!
