I absolutely recommend Yvonne Rizzo for family legal services!! With an already burdening schedule, I was in and out of court with my children's mother consistently. Repeated motions for ridiculousness. My attempt was to be reasonable. However, after a completely false narrative and even a restraining order I felt as the court would believe anything they were told. I highly recommend Yvonne Rizzo Family Law Attorney to anyone not being treated fairly in the courtroom and in need of Legal Representation. I have been going through family law for a year now with 9 months of no legal representation. Eventhough I was no threat to my child and the mother is an alcoholic with prior DUI's just got arrested for a DUI, the court granted her full sole and physical custody and for me 10% visitation with 0% sole legal or physical custody. For the first 9 months I was constantly getting mistreated in the courtroom eventhough there were hard evidence of proof and proof of lies against the opposing party due to a bias judge. Out of the 9 months the mother of my child withheld my daughter from me for 5 months. During the 5 months I filed 3 ex-parte hearings due to visitation violation of court orders and safety concerns with proof and still got dismissed, 1 hearing was cancelled and not even heard by the judge stating it's " Not an emergency". Since i hired Atty. Rizzo, not only was I able to be heard without being turned away but she was able to get me visitations with my daughter again after 5 months but with more time and days with overnights too. I now have 35% visitation with 4-5 days every week with my daughter and looks to get better from here on. Thank you Mrs. Rizzo.

I have used this firm three times in 10 years. Five stars each time. Divorce in 2010 with David representing me, then a property dispute with my ex in 2016 that worked out very favorably for me, and finally in helping me with a prenup (no jokes about not learning my lesson). Kyle is an easy going "surfer dude" who knows his stuff. When my fiance's lawyer wanted to add language at the last minute, he made a very reasonable and convincing argument (in front of that other lawyer) that was a slam dunk for my side. I hope I never need their services again but I would definitely recommend them. If you hire them, they are on your side and not trying to gouge you with superfluous "lawyer" billings.

After calling three or more other family law attorneys, and after explaining my situation, their response was "that my situation was one that they were not familiar with"or as one put it "would not know where to start", I was very relieved to have found Wilkinson & Finkbeiner. From the moment of my first call to the friendly and knowledgeable office person, who was able to understand my unique situation and also explained that Mr. Wilkinson had just recently had a case similar to mine, told me she was confident that he could help. Me and my husband were served papers from my 11 year old daughters father who had NEVER been involved with her EVER, but in between stints in prison, all of a sudden wanted custody and visitation. Went to court 3 times, due to him being arrested numerous times during the court proceedings. Finally we decided to get a lawyer to stop playing these games. We met Scott, and IMMEDIATELY knew we picked the right lawyer!! He ABSOLUTELY killed it in court, and actually got his RIGHTS TERMINATED......which in California is extremely difficult. When I knew divorce was imminent, I had a recommendation from a parent at my child's school to sit down with Shana. I hired Shana based upon the initial meeting and the very first hearing, Shana all but demanded I take my wife at the time up on her offer to reconciliate. I knew this was a trap, merely to get a restraining order I had filed dropped. As I predicted, my X immediately filed for divorce upon me dropping the restraining order. There seemed to be zero prior planning done for my multiple hearings. Shana often misspoke, and brushed off procedural errors by the court initially, that inevitably led to me firing her as my attorney. I would get the opposing party agreeing to sign a custody agreement, and Shana would not send the documents requiring signatures. There were always excuses as to her lack of initiative and timeliness. Shana always made sure to collect her money in a very timely manner, which would make sense if she produced results. My children were abducted by their mother and fled the state as a result of Shana not getting a judges signature on our custody agreement, that I negotiated with my X... not Shana. My X had an attorney that would write her declarations. I had to write my own declarations, and demand she begin writing them based on her fees. I represented myself in NC and secured full custody myself. I have been legally separated for a year and 4 months. I had my X agree to sign a divorce agreement, then spent months begging Shana to send the document. Then she attempted to say I was unclear in my requests. Honestly I liked Shana, and ignored everyone's advice to drop her early on. Simply because of hearing her on the phone with her daughter after court one day, she had her pull over so they could pray together, her daughter was distraught about something. Being a Christian, I chose to stick with her. My major complaint is how much money Shana was given, and how few results 35K yielded. I'm filing a complaint and seeking reimbursement. I had 4 lawyers in 4 different states during these hellish past two years. Shana was the highest paid, and yielded the fewest victories or results.

Stay away from Ms. Hearn unless you want incompetent representation and someone who only cares about cashing your checks. She "represented" a close friend in a custody dispute her with ex-husband. I am aware of everything she did and didn't do during the time she represented my friend as I was left to help clean up some of the mess. Ms Hearn failed to communicate with or respond to my friend repeatedly, failed to timely file important documents, claimed she served her adversary on dates when she never did, and failed to write letters to opposing counsel after repeated requests to do so. One of the letters she did write had to be completely rewritten because it looked like it was written by a third grader. My friend was forced to hire another local attorney and now she is severely prejudiced because of Ms. Hearn's gross ineffective assistance. The absolute ONLY thing she cares about is getting paid. I'd search for another attorney in the area if you need help because Ms. Hearn is not the answer you are looking for.

Thomas dropped the ball on my case in many ways, then left the firm on suddenly during negotiations so I had to start over with a new attorney. I had a very high stress situation ongoing (a child with cancer in and out of the hospital) during this process. I Don’t recommend my experience was financially draining & emotionally exhausting.

Michael and his staff did a great job of representing me and my best interests during my divorce. They provided me with sound counsel, professional administrative support and walked me through what was a confusing legal process. I started off thinking I could represent myself against my ex and her lawyer....how quickly I learned the divorce process in California is a racket and a nightmare. Mike's team stepped right in, coordinated everything and saw it through to a successful end. A good portion of my divorce was long distance due to working out of state. Michael represented me in court when necessary to ensure everything was on track. During required sessions with both parties, Michael kept me focused and urged me to stay civil and unemotional in search of a resolution. Mr. Cook represented me after learning my ex forged my signatures in divorce documents and filed in CA when neither of us lived there so CA had no jurisdiction. It was an open and shut case. I hired a handwriting expert who found that the signature was not mine and Mr. Cook mailed my ex a hearing notice. I was not confident that the address I had for him was current so I asked Mr. Cook to email him as well (he said he would and never did). his communication is terrible and he isn’t organized. Hearing date comes and I’m embarrassed by the way Mr. Cook stammers over his words and poorly articulates hisself. The judge sets a new court date because my ex didn’t appear and she wants proof that he was notified (Mr. Cook insists that he was and says he has proof but a few weeks later tells me that he actually received the letter back in the mail). a week before the new hearing Mr. Cook tells me he is going to mail out the hearing notice, I tell him it should’ve been mailed out there isn’t enough time, he insists it will be delivered next day knowing the address is in Afghanistan... I tell him he needs to email my ex who responded and Mr. Cook had a lengthy (the bill for it was pretty high and I would not have wanted him to even do more than just notify him) conversation with my ex on the phone then proceeded to tell me that my ex doesn’t know we are notifying him late and as long as the judge doesn’t mention it that I will be fine. My ex shows up to the next court date and the matter is settled. The judge ruled in my favor on the forgery but no thanks to Mr. Cook. My ex admitted it was not my signature. The judge did not rule for my ex to have to pay my legal fees. Mr. Cook tried to argue with the judge who shut him down because he didn’t properly file his paperwork so the court couldn’t rule on any other matter. I ended up paying so much for the hand writing expert which the judge requested to be there for the second case but only because my ex didn’t show up... the expert didn’t even have to testify at the second date and all of his fees. DO NOT HIRE HIM!

This is a review of my excellent experiences I had with this law firm. There were two attorneys assigned to my case, Faith Corbaley and Jose Contreras. Both are from the San Diego office. My case is a child support matter which started in 2012. Also in 2012, I moved to the Philippines. I am now retired and living on a fixed income from SS and OPM pensions. Being on a fixed income, I can no longer afford my support payments and my ex spouse is unwilling to change my support payments. As a result, I started being garnished from both my SS and OPM pensions for close to double the amount of the original monthly support payment. My lawyers submitted to the court an Income and Expense Declaration statement on my behalf and it shows that my expenses exceeded my income. Additional documents were also filed to the court by my lawyers and a court hearing was scheduled. The San Diego Child Support Services also conducted an audit and the outcome showed that a total of $3K was overpaid from the garnishments. At the court hearing, the judge reviewed all the documents submitted including the audit. After reviewing all the documents, the judge ordered the release of my two garnishments and ordered my ex spouse to reimburse me for the overpayments to be paid in monthly installments. Also, the judge ordered my ex spouse to pay some of my attorney fees payable in monthly installments. Finally, based on the Income and Expense Declaration document and other documents reviewed, the judge ordered my monthly child support, past due, and arrears be reduced and set to zero. I highly recommend Claery & Hammond for family law matters. especially my two attorneys, Faith Corbaley and Jose Contreras. Both are professional, courteous, knowledgeable, and aggressive attorneys. I feel comfortable and at ease when talking to them. It's like I am talking to two close friends or relatives and not as my attorneys. In summary, the work quality of my two attorneys in handling and resolving my case was beyond excellent. The case outcome would more likely be different and to the advantage of my ex spouse if I handled this case myself. I had great expectations for Ben and his crew, but what I got was subpar legal representation to say the least.. Sons mom filed a move away request out of the blue, and at first I was even contemplating whether, or not to even hire an attorney,because her allegations were so farcical, over the top, completely untrue, unfounded, and unbelievable. but with so much at stake I decided I would play it safe, and just pay the professionals. From the start I had questions about what was going on with my case, Ben, and his crew, are good at making invoices , and running up the bill, but they will not work for you. During the months leading up to the,” $8000 dollar train wreck”. I was never prompted for evidence, I was never called I had to voluntarily scan, and PDF evidence over to his office on my own, sometimes I would get a confirmation email, other times I would not. I asked if I could bring my emails, pictures, and text messages in for them to scan, and build my case file, but they fully took advantage of the COVID-19 restrictions saying, “ they weren’t allowing people personal visits into the office, because of the COVID”. This was another way they could focus on bringing in new retainer fees, and focus on the money aspect of it, opposed to the defense, and actual representation aspect of it. Guys do not hire these people, they will loose your case, you have been warned. On the day of the evidentiary hearing, evidence linking mom to illicit activities, gambling, and prescription drug abuse, was not presented. In addition threats made to me by other parties on moms side, like death threats, threats to come to my house, pictures of new gun purchases, and people holding them,that were sent to me, were not presented at the hearing. Upon cross examining me, Ben repeatedly asked me questions related to corporal punishment of my son, and stepson, the purpose of which, I still have not figured out. In the end the Judge ruled capriciously , chopping up family code section “ 3040” , while Ben just sat there like a deer in the headlights. I lost the half custody of my son, to a person with a history of bad child parenting, with a history of violent convicted felons, and drug addicts in the home. My exhibit list was virtually non existent, very few documents, half irrelevant, the other half of the exhibits indiscernible. Instead of quickly discrediting mom, and mounting a solid defense, against, a "I said so therefore, it must be allegation", Ben was unprepared, and made us both look bad. If O.J. Simpson was found not guilty again for another murder, it would not be more egregious, it could not be anymore off base than the train wreck that Ben, and his “ wrecking crew”, managed to create for me. Unbelievably there is more, In the end I asked them, “ to file a substitution of attorney”, with the court so that I could get get their incompetent rear ends off my case, and of course they dragged their feet for another two weeks, and I was not able to file a “peremptory challenge” in time, to ask for a new judge for my upcoming motions. I was very nice, and did not bother them, while they were on my case, in fact, this is the first time I have expressed my frustration with them They did not put the work in that they billed me for, and therefore, Ben was unprepared for what should have been an easy case, a case that was textbook example of what female on male domestic violence looks like. "I said so, so therefore it must be evidence". I paid $8000 dollars,and it made my problem much.much worse. Horrible job!

Highly recommend the team of professionals at Primus. I'm an active duty service member and they worked hard and were very realistic and attentive to my case. I got my kids back after the navy sent me away and my ex went to mork on me. Definitely worth every penny and I was able to win my case all due to the support and work my lawyer and her paralegal i won't name drop them but they rock. I would Absolutely recommend them to anyone going the a divorce or custody battle.

Kimberly is very professional and hard working. I didn’t think I would have a chance of getting my daughter back. Kimberly fought hard. She is always responsive and caring. She was always aggressive and strong in the court. I was very lucky to have her fight by my side. I will never forget her. I followed Kimberly from her previous firm. I made sure to have Kimberly. Worst law firm I have ever dealt with! Represented my daughter for two ten minute hearings. Came totally unprepared, did not defend my daughters position at all! Paid $4000 for the twenty minutes of representation and fired them! Then they sent my daughter a $2500 bill on top of that. Insane!
