I will do you a huge favor, Avoid this law firm they don't care about you or your situation. I couldn't understand why I can't get a return call or at least a email. After three weeks and several calls to the office I was assured several times by the receptionist they were hard at work on my case. Straight up lie. Upon my final call expressing my disappointment I was assured that Alexandra was going to work on my case that weekend and they would call me next week. I heard that several times just a different person in their office. They do not respect or care about their clients. Do yourself a favor, hire anyone even a personal injury attorney could do a better job.

I needed a local attorney to help me through my divorce. Ms. Mcintosh was rude, horribly unorganized, non responsive and slow. The revolving door in her front office staff should be an indication to run. It took over 2+ years to finalize the divorce which cost me not only in unnecessary legal fees, but also loss in the settlement. I finally switched to another attorney to finalize the settlement. She also charged higher rates than our contract outlined which I am having to dispute with her in arbitration. I would highly recommend researching other attorneys in the area.

I am satisfied with how my case was handled by Alexandra McIntosh. I came to her four years ago with a very tough case. I was in a poor mental state and had just ended a very long term volatile marriage. I wasn't much help to my case and honestly didn't want to deal with it. Alexandra NEVER made me feel bad or crazy for how I was feeling. In fact she believed in me and guided me to take action with the police department to protect myself which I did and today I am protected! She also guided me to seek other measures outside her office which I did and am grateful today for that! In a divorce their are no winners. Most of the end result was fair in my opinion! There were elements of the case that were too tricky and I did not want to pursue. So would I hire her again? Most definitely!

Don’t take Julie O Wolf’s sweet voice and demeanor for granted she is a beast in the courtroom. She will fight for you like no other. I’ve worked with many attorneys regarding my dissolution and no one can compare to her tactfulness against opposing council. Julie was wonderful during my case. I had an unusual situation and Julie was clear on how the outcome may play out. She does not sugar coat anything and fights tooth and nail for the protection of the child and encourages her clients to make rational and healthy decisions during their case. After being an emotional wreck (which she could of probably charged me a mental health service fee????) I was able to settle and have the most time with my son as possible. Highly recommended.

ZERO STARS ACTUALLY!!! I reached out to Julie Wolff to represent me in court so I can file for 50/50 custody of my children, modify visitation, and modify child support. She sent me an intake form to fill out which I had filled out same day and sent it back. Julie followed up with me to have a 20 minute consultation. Julie is not my first lawyer and I have never heard of a 20 minute consultation. After she quickly ended that phone call her main concern was how she was accepting first payment or retainer. I told her multiple times on the phone that my insurance covers my payment in full for custody and visitation. I told her, the only thing I would have to pay is for child support and that is a reduced rate of 25% of regular rate bye attorney. Along with me explaining that to her verbally I also emailed her all of my case assist confirmation numbers MULTIPLE TIMES. These numbers pull up my case and EXPLAIN WHAT I AM COVERED UNDER AND HOW PAYMENT OF ATTONEY FEES WORK FROM MY INSURANCE. My insurance also advices any attorneys that do not know the coverage for said plan member to call direct and they will happily assist them in what is covered. This was too much for Julie to do and she asked that I call to verify what she will be payed and too email her with what they say. Aside from what I am covered under, I also said I don't care what I need to pay or how much it will cost I just need to get the ball rolling for my paperwork, because everyday that goes bye is affecting my children. Still did not matter. She kept requesting papers that I have emailed to her 3 different times at this point, and would not accept a phone call, text message or physical appointment to straighten the confusion out. What she did instead was email me the same email three different times requesting what I have already sent her. SEE MY FRUSTRATION!!!??? Julie did not try helping, calling, or explaining anything to me to try and get her what she needs. She felt sending the same email two more times (which clearly was in confusion) was the best and most professional way of handling that, thus leading me to not even accept her as an attorney being as difficult as she was. When people seek out Attorneys I personally do not feel that whomever they choose to represent them, should make they're life simply more difficult with no clear direction. In my benefit she made it very easy for me to know what kind of Attorney I am looking for, so, Thank you Julie Wolff... I see you come back at people with negative reviews and attack their character thus proving my point of unprofessionalism. please don't attack my character this was a review of your work ethic and how you handle your Law Firm. STEP IT UP!!! Please do not try saying that I am a "BOGUS SCAMMER" either, I am very real.

Where do I begin? This is a testimony from the heart so I don't know how to make it short and sweet. I was referred to Steve in 2002 after my daughter's father kidnapped her during his visitation. Needless to say, I was frantic. I searched all over San Diego for a competent attorney, this was my child so I needed THE BEST family law attorney that money could buy. I consulted with three attorneys, Steve was the last one I met...I knew immediately that my search was over. When I decided to retain Steve, I had no idea that I was not only getting an attorney, I was getting a confidant and friend. Unlike lawyers I have dealt with in the past, I never felt like Mr. Bishop viewed me solely as a case file. He became a part of my family (my kids call him Uncle Steve ;-) ), and truly wanted what was best for my child, even before considering what was best for me. The idea that my daughter's best interest must be met, was a goal we both shared equally. Mr. Bishop impressed me with his courtroom IQ and etiquette. My ex and I split up when our minor daughter was 13. I had a nasty custody battle with him where he wouldn't allow me to see her. I was worried that her academic and social life would be affected. Rich helped me fought this case. One of the best advice Rich gave me was to move near my daughter's school, which I did. Moving across the street from her school made it really convenient for her. Although the court awarded a 50/50 custody, my daughter stayed with me almost 100% of the time. Joe is not your typical attorney. We were referred to Joe Carnohan by a friend, The case had become extremely difficult over the first year with a different attorney. Joe took the case and did an amazing job. Not only was he knowledgeable but professional and presented his case extremely well. We were very impressed when one of the judges acknowledged his ability to make difficult cases work in the pass and wanted to know what was so different about this case. Joe explained and we one that hearing. Joe has a history of taking difficult cases and getting everybody to work together. He took our case, in the middle and still did an outstanding job!! His legal assistant, Michelle, also outstanding, and always there. Both were very helpful in easing the emotions, explaining how everything works and what to expect. They are more than just another legal office. Joe was Amazing in presentation, and logic in all matters. He always knew what was most important and never lost focus. Second time I've worked with this law firm, specifically Mr. Matteson. On my own personal experience Scott and Matteson Family Law have worked in the most professional manner. They respond fast to all phone calls, message, etc. Mr. Matteson is on top of his game! Straight forward type of lawyer that will guide the case to the right path. Even though my case was dismissed on my behalf he always kept me on the loop as to what evidence is needed on my part to prove a compelling case. If I have to go back to family court again I will definitely hire Mr. Matteson again. Thank you!

I highly recommend Jason and Cory. Jason was my attorney after I caught my ex-husband having an affair. I personally knew Cory McConnell, and he referred me to Jason keep things unbiased. Jason jumped right in and within days I had all the necessary paperwork filed. Jason was professional, responsive, explained everything to me in detail on a level that I could understand and at the end of my divorce I walked away with everything. DO NOT USE THESE GUYS! I initially spoke to Zephyr Hill who agreed to be my attorney. However, when he sent me the retainer agreement he switched me without notice to Michael Steiner- WHO IS A HORRIBLE ATTORNEY! I should have dropped them then. Basically Steiner would respond to emails and phone calls sporadically at best and when you speak to him he seems to have his mind elsewhere. The last straw was when he agreed to file an ex parte on my behalf, however, after I followed up with him days later he tells me " I decided not to file it." No explanation for not communicating this to me. I will be filing a complaint with the state bar. VERY DISAPPOINTED!

In the middle of a crisis, like a divorce where you need a lawyer, you need someone who can help you make sense of just about everything. Lowenstein Brown does just that! Michele and Liz are an incredible team, and they have a wonderful support staff! They focus on your goals and what you want (they like to point out “it is your life, and when we are gone you have to be happy with this”). They lay out the process and expectations very clearly. They work well with support counsel and outside specialists. You expect your lawyers to be good at the law – it was a wonderful experience to find two people who also have great compassion and sensitivity to what you are going through. They care and it shows in how they and their staff treat you from the first meeting to the last. I highly recommend Michele Lowenstein and Liz Brown.

Liz Brown represented my ex (I was pro per at the time), and lied to the judge about ownership of my daughter's college account. She told the judge that it was owned jointly by my husband and me, attempting to seize the funds for reunification costs. After I retained counsel, my lawyer was able to show the judge the documentation (which the judge himself had signed a few months prior) that proved that the college account was legally owned by my daughter. My ex was fined $2,000 for the lie. Liz Brown was not honest, inflicting on me an unnecessary court hearing to have to fight for my daughter's college fund. I would never recommend this lawyer, unless you want someone willing to lie and cheat for you.

I researched and spoke with several law firms before carefully selecting Lowenstein Brown. I needed to be certain that the firm I selected could handle a complicated family matter. In my first meeting with Michele, Liz and their support staff, I knew I had selected the very best attorneys to handle my case. Their ability to communicate the necessary steps, combined with their empathy and compassion, were more than I could possibly have hoped for. The entire staff was available any time I had a question or concern. Where the opposing counsel was sloppy and slow, Michele and Liz were fastidious and timely. If you are uncertain about who to select to represent you, look no further, Lowenstein Brown is the firm I would highly recommend.

Couple years of ago we have problem first with our adoption being contested. We got through with that issue with excellent help from Atty Lowenstein & Brown. Then it became an visitation rights issue and again with professional assistance from both Attys now we able to have a peace of mind. We have interviewed couple of lawyers but decided to hire them because we felt comfortable talking to them and gave us the real scope of the case with no promises. Also, the staff are very professional especially Katina. They are in constant contact with us with changes or need for more information.
