Joshua Fabian was my attorney for my court preceding and was there for any questions that I had with fast and clear responses. This is a review of my excellent experiences I had with this law firm. There were two attorneys assigned to my case, Faith Corbaley and Jose Contreras. Both are from the San Diego office. My case is a child support matter which started in 2012. Also in 2012, I moved to the Philippines. I am now retired and living on a fixed income from SS and OPM pensions. Being on a fixed income, I can no longer afford my support payments and my ex spouse is unwilling to change my support payments. As a result, I started being garnished from both my SS and OPM pensions for close to double the amount of the original monthly support payment. My lawyers submitted to the court an Income and Expense Declaration statement on my behalf and it shows that my expenses exceeded my income. Additional documents were also filed to the court by my lawyers and a court hearing was scheduled. The San Diego Child Support Services also conducted an audit and the outcome showed that a total of $3K was overpaid from the garnishments. At the court hearing, the judge reviewed all the documents submitted including the audit. After reviewing all the documents, the judge ordered the release of my two garnishments and ordered my ex spouse to reimburse me for the overpayments to be paid in monthly installments. Also, the judge ordered my ex spouse to pay some of my attorney fees payable in monthly installments. Finally, based on the Income and Expense Declaration document and other documents reviewed, the judge ordered my monthly child support, past due, and arrears be reduced and set to zero. I highly recommend Claery & Hammond for family law matters. especially my two attorneys, Faith Corbaley and Jose Contreras. Both are professional, courteous, knowledgeable, and aggressive attorneys. I feel comfortable and at ease when talking to them. It's like I am talking to two close friends or relatives and not as my attorneys. In summary, the work quality of my two attorneys in handling and resolving my case was beyond excellent. The case outcome would more likely be different and to the advantage of my ex spouse if I handled this case myself. I had great expectations for Ben and his crew, but what I got was subpar legal representation to say the least.. Sons mom filed a move away request out of the blue, and at first I was even contemplating whether, or not to even hire an attorney,because her allegations were so farcical, over the top, completely untrue, unfounded, and unbelievable. but with so much at stake I decided I would play it safe, and just pay the professionals. From the start I had questions about what was going on with my case, Ben, and his crew, are good at making invoices , and running up the bill, but they will not work for you. During the months leading up to the,” $8000 dollar train wreck”. I was never prompted for evidence, I was never called I had to voluntarily scan, and PDF evidence over to his office on my own, sometimes I would get a confirmation email, other times I would not. I asked if I could bring my emails, pictures, and text messages in for them to scan, and build my case file, but they fully took advantage of the COVID-19 restrictions saying, “ they weren’t allowing people personal visits into the office, because of the COVID”. This was another way they could focus on bringing in new retainer fees, and focus on the money aspect of it, opposed to the defense, and actual representation aspect of it. Guys do not hire these people, they will loose your case, you have been warned. On the day of the evidentiary hearing, evidence linking mom to illicit activities, gambling, and prescription drug abuse, was not presented. In addition threats made to me by other parties on moms side, like death threats, threats to come to my house, pictures of new gun purchases, and people holding them,that were sent to me, were not presented at the hearing. Upon cross examining me, Ben repeatedly asked me questions related to corporal punishment of my son, and stepson, the purpose of which, I still have not figured out. In the end the Judge ruled capriciously , chopping up family code section “ 3040” , while Ben just sat there like a deer in the headlights. I lost the half custody of my son, to a person with a history of bad child parenting, with a history of violent convicted felons, and drug addicts in the home. My exhibit list was virtually non existent, very few documents, half irrelevant, the other half of the exhibits indiscernible. Instead of quickly discrediting mom, and mounting a solid defense, against, a "I said so therefore, it must be allegation", Ben was unprepared, and made us both look bad. If O.J. Simpson was found not guilty again for another murder, it would not be more egregious, it could not be anymore off base than the train wreck that Ben, and his “ wrecking crew”, managed to create for me. Unbelievably there is more, In the end I asked them, “ to file a substitution of attorney”, with the court so that I could get get their incompetent rear ends off my case, and of course they dragged their feet for another two weeks, and I was not able to file a “peremptory challenge” in time, to ask for a new judge for my upcoming motions. I was very nice, and did not bother them, while they were on my case, in fact, this is the first time I have expressed my frustration with them They did not put the work in that they billed me for, and therefore, Ben was unprepared for what should have been an easy case, a case that was textbook example of what female on male domestic violence looks like. "I said so, so therefore it must be evidence". I paid $8000 dollars,and it made my problem much.much worse. Horrible job!

Highly recommend the team of professionals at Primus. I'm an active duty service member and they worked hard and were very realistic and attentive to my case. Worst law firm I have ever dealt with! Represented my daughter for two ten minute hearings. Came totally unprepared, did not defend my daughters position at all! Paid $4000 for the twenty minutes of representation and fired them! Then they sent my daughter a $2500 bill on top of that. Insane!

I've been with Men's Legal Center for years. My ex-wife has taken me to court multiple times throughout the years since our divorce. My first attorney unfortunately past away but he was awesome. Fast forward to 2020 and the law firm isn't the same. I 4 trials this year alone. Two of them I was trying to change visitation. Out of all 4 trials, Men's Legal Center did not win away! My child support over quadrupled. Visitation didn't change. And my ex-wife's lawyers were ruthless & made me look extremely bad in the courts eyes. Men Legal Center made my situation why worse. Stay clear of Men's Legal Center. They were a great law firm, they were.

I found this website while searching for someone who could provide guidance for my son on a pending divorce.... I felt lost in my google search, but as I looked at the Mens Legal Center, i focused on the reviews of individuals... some were not flattering, but the name Francisco Berata consistently revealed excellent comments.. so, I took a chance and called the office and left a message for him... he called me back! He talked at length with me as I shared background on my son's situation and challenges ( plenty of them). Francisco was polite, understanding, knowledgeable and willing to invite my son in for a free consultation to hear his needs and to guide him to next steps... THANK you, Francisco, for your patience and compassion... Awesome!!

Mens Legal Firm plays this game where they pass you around the firm to different lawyers and ask for court hearings to be rescheduled to extend the your service. Meanwhile your bill is going up. I am Active Duty Navy. While deployed to Japan there wasn't much I can do with the courts from overseas so I hired Mens Legal Service to help me and they passed me around and rescheduled court dates for 4 years. I 100% do not recommend this place. I never write reviews. My service was so bad I had to take the time out to warm others to go some place else. I got divorced 4 years ago and I am still paying, actually let me rephrase that, I am still getting charged. I argue and beg with my representation to file motions to the court, to get answers from child support services and no one got back to me. I divorced my wife, gave her the marital assets, custody, alimony and child support. All I ask for was visitation with my children. All I ever wanted was for the visitation agreement to be modified. THAT'S IT! Mens Legal Firm plays this game where they pass you around the firm to different lawyers and ask for court hearings to be rescheduled to extend the your service. Meanwhile your bill is going up. The first lawyer their died, then the next 2 lawyers quit. Even the paralegal or secretary or what ever there title is quit. Each time someone quit or pass my case around I would fill the next person in on the situation and the current representation would start from the beginning and get no where. My ex-wife is very uncooperative so what I wanted was a motion to have the judge decide on visitation. The lawyers argued with me and told me they would try to call my ex and email her and work it out. They all got no where and charged me for the phone calls and emails. I screamed that I didn't want them to talk to my ex and they did not listen. Be prepared to be played with and charged.

I knew full well, as a military father in a divorce case, in CALIFORNIA, was going to get a raw deal by their liberal judges. But towards the end of my case my hired attorney left their firm and left me with an attorney who had no idea what he was doing. He even leaned over and whispering, asked..."you were in the navy right?" I could have saved a retainer fee and better represented myself. Mr. McGuire recently handled a legal issue that I needed to deal with. He was prompt with all of his replies to my correspondence and was easy to communicate with as he was always accessible via email. Since my case involved some out-of-state documents, he did the research to make sure all of the details were managed correctly according to that state's requirements. I was relieved to see how quickly the whole process was completed since my former attorney lacked this sense of urgency. I will definitely seek out his services again should I have any future legal matters to resolve.

After 3 years of using attorney Jeffrey Fritz of Basie and Fritz a friend recommended I talk to Erik Jenkins. I am so glad I did! I was married for 21 years and I was misled to settle out of court with my ex because Fritz said it would settle everything quickly. I should NOT have signed a settlement and should let the court settle my divorce. My divorce would have been done in less than a year. Fritz started making demands to opposing council for account statements and financial documents with no avail. Fritz encouraged me to sign a settlement with my ex. Then the circus began. Emails not returned by Fritz for over 3 weeks, litigation delays, court dates delayed, questions never answered, demand dates not met by opposing counsel were ignored for months, etc... . My last hearing with Basie and Fritz I got to the court and I was rudely told by Jeffery Fritz that he would be representing me that day because the attorney that had represented me in court for over 3 years had died a few days before. In over 3 years he had never appeared in court for me. He was not up to speed on my litigation and horribly failed me in court that day. He had a hearing problem and couldn't even hear the judge or the opposing counsel's remarks. After 3 years of Jeffrey Fritz and Basie and Fritz prolonged bad representation a friend that is an attorney told me to talk to Erik Jenkins. Erik was a courteous, punctual, and got right to the point. I decided to change attorneys and hired Erik. He immediately made demands for documents and account statements that we had been legally demanding for years to get from my ex. If demands were not met in time Erik was right on top of it. Erik never let delays by my ex's attorney go past demand dates and made opposing council accountable for delays. My case was done very quickly after hiring Erik. Divorce is painful for families to go through. Attorneys like Jeffrey Fritz of Basie and Fritz, and Dunne and Dunne (my ex's attorney) just prolong the process, make it more painful for families, and create friction between the parties all for their financial benefit. Deplorable! I will forever be thankful to Erik Jenkins for expeditiously bringing my divorce litigation to an end. I highly recommend Jenkins P.C. and recommend that you don't hesitate to dump a bad attorney to hire Erik.

My initial encounter with Mr.Jenkins involved a child custody issue. He immediately informed me I did not need him after spending 20+ minutes of his valuable time with me for free. My 2nd issue arose over an ex hitting my fiancee & myself with restraining orders. Mr. Jenkins killed both TROs at a reasonable price expeditiously. I've been working with lawyers on a daily basis for over a decade and this man is the finest, most aggressive, yet most reasonable, attorney I've encountered. Thank you Sir. Erik and his team are amazing. I can't say enough good things about this group. Erik helped me through a very tough divorce and was able to avoid litigation. Other family law groups want to pile on ridiculous paperwork to pad their bills, Erik is the exact opposite. He was more than capable of going head to head with aggressive, overly litigious lawyers, but kept a cool head and would always look for the win win situation to speed resolution and help lower costs. He and his group were always available and helpful during the most stressful time in my life. There is no great divorce, but if I ever had to do it again, i will definitely find Erik.

I will do you a huge favor, Avoid this law firm they don't care about you or your situation. I couldn't understand why I can't get a return call or at least a email. After three weeks and several calls to the office I was assured several times by the receptionist they were hard at work on my case. Straight up lie. Upon my final call expressing my disappointment I was assured that Alexandra was going to work on my case that weekend and they would call me next week. I heard that several times just a different person in their office. They do not respect or care about their clients. Do yourself a favor, hire anyone even a personal injury attorney could do a better job.

I needed a local attorney to help me through my divorce. Ms. Mcintosh was rude, horribly unorganized, non responsive and slow. The revolving door in her front office staff should be an indication to run. It took over 2+ years to finalize the divorce which cost me not only in unnecessary legal fees, but also loss in the settlement. I finally switched to another attorney to finalize the settlement. She also charged higher rates than our contract outlined which I am having to dispute with her in arbitration. I would highly recommend researching other attorneys in the area.

I am satisfied with how my case was handled by Alexandra McIntosh. I came to her four years ago with a very tough case. I was in a poor mental state and had just ended a very long term volatile marriage. I wasn't much help to my case and honestly didn't want to deal with it. Alexandra NEVER made me feel bad or crazy for how I was feeling. In fact she believed in me and guided me to take action with the police department to protect myself which I did and today I am protected! She also guided me to seek other measures outside her office which I did and am grateful today for that! In a divorce their are no winners. Most of the end result was fair in my opinion! There were elements of the case that were too tricky and I did not want to pursue. So would I hire her again? Most definitely!

Julie was wonderful during my case. I had an unusual situation and Julie was clear on how the outcome may play out. She does not sugar coat anything and fights tooth and nail for the protection of the child and encourages her clients to make rational and healthy decisions during their case. After being an emotional wreck (which she could of probably charged me a mental health service fee????) I was able to settle and have the most time with my son as possible. Highly recommended.

ZERO STARS ACTUALLY!!! I reached out to Julie Wolff to represent me in court so I can file for 50/50 custody of my children, modify visitation, and modify child support. She sent me an intake form to fill out which I had filled out same day and sent it back. Julie followed up with me to have a 20 minute consultation. Julie is not my first lawyer and I have never heard of a 20 minute consultation. After she quickly ended that phone call her main concern was how she was accepting first payment or retainer. I told her multiple times on the phone that my insurance covers my payment in full for custody and visitation. I told her, the only thing I would have to pay is for child support and that is a reduced rate of 25% of regular rate bye attorney. Along with me explaining that to her verbally I also emailed her all of my case assist confirmation numbers MULTIPLE TIMES. These numbers pull up my case and EXPLAIN WHAT I AM COVERED UNDER AND HOW PAYMENT OF ATTONEY FEES WORK FROM MY INSURANCE. My insurance also advices any attorneys that do not know the coverage for said plan member to call direct and they will happily assist them in what is covered. This was too much for Julie to do and she asked that I call to verify what she will be payed and too email her with what they say. Aside from what I am covered under, I also said I don't care what I need to pay or how much it will cost I just need to get the ball rolling for my paperwork, because everyday that goes bye is affecting my children. Still did not matter. She kept requesting papers that I have emailed to her 3 different times at this point, and would not accept a phone call, text message or physical appointment to straighten the confusion out. What she did instead was email me the same email three different times requesting what I have already sent her. SEE MY FRUSTRATION!!!??? Julie did not try helping, calling, or explaining anything to me to try and get her what she needs. She felt sending the same email two more times (which clearly was in confusion) was the best and most professional way of handling that, thus leading me to not even accept her as an attorney being as difficult as she was. When people seek out Attorneys I personally do not feel that whomever they choose to represent them, should make they're life simply more difficult with no clear direction. In my benefit she made it very easy for me to know what kind of Attorney I am looking for, so, Thank you Julie Wolff... I see you come back at people with negative reviews and attack their character thus proving my point of unprofessionalism. please don't attack my character this was a review of your work ethic and how you handle your Law Firm. STEP IT UP!!! Please do not try saying that I am a "BOGUS SCAMMER" either, I am very real.

Where do I begin? This is a testimony from the heart so I don't know how to make it short and sweet. I was referred to Steve in 2002 after my daughter's father kidnapped her during his visitation. Needless to say, I was frantic. I searched all over San Diego for a competent attorney, this was my child so I needed THE BEST family law attorney that money could buy. I consulted with three attorneys, Steve was the last one I met...I knew immediately that my search was over.
