I honestly can't thank this firm enough for the help they gave me for one of the most stressful situations I have had to deal with in my life. My ex made things very difficult and tried to drag things out to make things hard and this team was extremely supportive of me and kicked butt getting things done and in a super timely manner. Katie Keeley and Derick Austin were in charge of my case. They were both very up front and straight shooters as far as what was realistic. I came into this scared and not knowing even where to start and I honestly don't think I could have picked a better team to represent me and I would recommend them to anyone. I will say, my only reservations when I came here in the beginning was this place is pretty pricey. I was very upfront on what I had to spend and they felt confident they could do everything in the retainer I paid. Well, we didn't even make it to court before my retainer was up and I noticed my invoice was a bit off with some stuff. I've had full physical custody of my two boys since my divorce in 2011. They're father moved out of state and although I was willing to work with him on visitation, he felt like I was being unfair. When he served me with custody papers, I was so worried and anxious of what was to come. I have always tried to do what's in the best interest of my boys, but I was worried that maybe he would not be reasonable with what he wanted versus what I was proposing (which is exactly what happened). I spoke with a few attorneys before I found Mello & Pickering. The other attorneys sounded out of touch and cold to my situation, which made me feel even more panicked. I called to set up a consult with Traci Pickering and immediately felt like I was talking to someone who had my boys best interest at heart. I hired Audrey Gamble to represent me. However, she was completely unresponsive, except for quips like 'Maybe you can become an attorney after all of this.' I asked her to file documents for me, but she was obsessed with trying to force me to agree to stipulations to appease my husband's high powered attorney and would not work on the aspects of my case that I was interested in.
