We had a last minute need for a family attorney and called Mr. Langhals office. While he was unable to take on his case due to the last minute nature of our request, his office associate in the office responded to multiple calls from us and gave us more than plenty of time and guidance in finding good representation. It is IMPOSSIBLE to Find Better Council I have no way of truly stating or defining the fact that in your darkest moment as a father facing divorce, fear and anger develop. I was in this situation and needed to find a good attorney. Let me re-phrase this.... I needed to find the BEST attorney. And by luck, I did. Mr. Hartley and his team are magicians with a flair of aggression to do the right thing. There has never been a moment where relief felt so outstanding knowing that Mr. Hartley was my sword and shield. My divorce was in the least, contentious. Mr. Hartley navigated these waters with ease and absolutely pummeled anything in his path. I retained almost everything I was fighting for myself and my daughter in what I considered a "vanilla" divorce(house, 401K, rental unit, but most of all, final decision maker for my daughter). Some may say that this sounds easy, but it is not! And I do believe that there is a right way to fight a case where a father is fighting for his child. Mr. Hartley provided EXACTLY that. The wide expanse of knowledge and capability of Mr. Hartley knows no bounds. He definitely pushes beyond any normal human for his clients. The precision and timing of action is everything and to be honest, I do not believe that Mr. Hartley sleeps at all. He was available anytime and the guidance was impeccable. There should be a movie made about this attorney. His preparation and subsequent pouncing in a courtroom is exactly that....out of a movie. The difference is, it IS reality and that diamond you are looking for is located in Kettering, OH. As a father, I reigned in the outcome (which these days does not seem possible). I have final authority on just about everything related to my daughter. The future is hers thanks to Mr. Hartley and his team. And I am telling anyone reading this....If you are in a similar situation, I wouldn't trust ANYONE else. Where do I even begin? Mr. Hartley and his team were on top of things since day one. If you work with him, he will definitely go above and beyond to make sure everything goes as smoothly as possible. Don't waste his time, and he will most certainly not waste yours. Him and his team were always very professional, communicated constantly, and would listen to you and your concerns. When Mr. Hartley says to not worry about something, even if it might seem a bit off at the moment, he knows what he's talking about He goes straight to the point, and will not sugarcoat anything for you. Sometimes truth can be a hard pill to swallow, but rest assured that the way he sees the situation is in the best interest of his clients, in every aspect (mentally, emotionally, financially etc.). The way he is able to keep composure and be on top of everything, not to mention at the speed he and his team operate, is simply insane (in a good way of course). I'm very glad that I chose Mr. Hartley and his team! They helped make this process a smooth one and if it came down to it, I would hire him again in a heartbeat!

If you’re looking for a gladiator then you’ve found him! If you want a straight up lawyer that’s gonna tell you what you need to know then he is it. Aaron Hartley and his staff are never playing around when it comes to a case. I wish I had hired him years ago! He took a clusterf*** and fixed it quick. He gets results! Something to note though, Aaron does not beat around bush about anything. If constructive criticism offends you then you’re going to have a hard time seeing his point. Trust me, he put my expectations in check more than once. This is his career and this is what he excels at. Trust him. Listen to him, even if it’s not what you want to hear. You may not like what he says but he knows what he is doing. Be ready to hear some of what is going on with him, it’s not mock you or make you feel like your case is less serious than his. It’s to make a point- pick your battles so you can win the war. Aaron will see you through the end and he will not lead you astray. Let me put it to you this way, do you want a lawyer that’s gonna let you get rolled or do you want one that is gonna roll your opponent and get you want you want (within reason people)? Be prepared to be expected to bring your all to the game. Give him credible info and back it up with proof and he will back the opposing counsel down. Aaron has an alpha personality and alphas do not like lose. That is the type of lawyer you want if you want to win.

I cannot stress how fantastic he and his entire staff are. Hired Craig Sams to represent me during post degree filings. Mr. Sams talked a great game during the hiring process until it came time to actually accomplish anything. He was arrogant, dismissive and rude on more than one occasion. To say it is all about the money is an understatement when dealing with this firm ($55 to forward an email with no explanation or thoughts, just hit send). Kirkland & Sommers needs to realize that they are not doing a customer a favor by representing them, it is actually the other way around. I have been taken for $2800 and I am no closer to having my issue resolved.

I used Doug Dougherty for my divorce in June 2010. I have found out over the years how well my divorce was written and handled with interactions between us and my husband's attorneys at the time. Doug was always very professional and timely in his responses to issues pertaining to my divorce and with interactions with the other attorneys. Doug Dougherty recently helped resolve my case - which involved a complicated legal issue - whereby I was seeking the court's relief from a prior alimony judgment due to circumstances that required me to retire from my job. Doug Dougherty was my attorney for my divorce. Unfortunately I had 2 prior attorneys to Doug - my first went on medical leave for the 2 months leading up to my initial hearing so I had to make a quick change. My second was almost impossible to get a hold of and it actually cost me the ability to have expert witnesses at my trial. Things totally changed when I found Doug. He is responsive, thorough, attentive, and extremely smart. He is a multiple time winner at the Ohio Supreme court for a reason. I would first suggest never going through a divorce but if you do, Doug is who you want representing you. Also, on a personal level Doug is genuine and real and will do everything he can to help you. Had he been my first attorney I know my outcome would have been even better than what it turned out and I still got almost everything I wanted. I told him when we settled with my x that it was a shame I didn't get to see him in court. If you're going through a divorce at least take the time to meet with him, you will not be disappointed.

Finding Doug Dougherty when I did was a blessing. I was using another attorney, from a completely different firm, and was at my breaking point. My divorce was final, but QDRO's and finalizing all the details had yet to be resolved. My life savings were in jeopardy and my, then current, attorney was unresponsive and completely checked out from the process. Doug took on my case, got up to speed quickly and set everything in motion. He was kind, professional and explained everything to me so that I fully understood the process. He was also very clear on expectations to the outcome of certain case items, which I appreciated greatly. I wish I would have known Doug at the beginning of my divorce journey.
