Fantastic experience with Angela and her team. She is incredibly patient, determined, super down to Earth & LGBTQ+ friendly. I retained her services for a name change. The name change required Philadelphia county to provide certifications as I hadn’t lived in the Lancaster county all 5 required years to remove Philadelphia out of the required searches. Despite the lack of timely responsiveness from Philadelphia, Angela was able to make things happen. She went above and beyond to get it all taken care of. I will absolutely be retaining her services again if ever the need arises. My sincerest thanks to Angela and Chelsea.

Eric and Anne Gibson represented me over the course of two years before and after my arrest for egregious crimes of Domestic Violence. I was falsely arrested for Sexual Assault on a date and time I was working, arrested for a Simple Assault that simply did not occur, as well as conduct indicative of Stalking. The prosecution’s case was pieced together with testimonial evidence, aside from self-inflicted injuries caused by their purported victim. Prior to my arrest, the police took no photographs of the alleged crime scene(s), interviewed no available witnesses, and substantially conducted no investigation. At the time the police were called, I offered little information due to the seriousness of the allegations and asserted my 6th Amendment right to counsel. This is where the genesis of my association with the Gibsons began. My position was unique because I came to them after navigating our adversarial justice system as a policeman for the prior 12 years. This included working for the same District Attorney’s office who authorized my arrest. The Gibsons permitted me to largely assist in the planning and defense investigation that occurred, something I don’t think would have happened with most other attorneys. It was not long until we realized the defense was in possession of more evidence than the prosecution, some of which was revealed to them in the days prior to the case’s resolution. Ultimately, I weathered the worst period of my life with the help of this profound “TEAM GIBSON” and emerged on the other side with no finding or admission of guilt and 50/50 custody of my lovely daughter. I have been exposed to many lawyers over the years but was thoroughly impressed with the Gibsons’ professionalism and staunch commitment to the positive outcome of my case. Eric and Anne are two of the most conscientious legal navigators I have had the pleasure to work with and I consider myself lucky to have hired them. Anne Gibson was my main lawyer for my divorce, but Eric Gibson also filled in sometimes. Their paralegal I corresponded with was also named Anne and she was great as well. I had many time sensitive requests and questions and they always responded promptly. During some of the proceedings I was living in another state and they coordinated telephone conferences for me as well so I didn't have to fly to go to court. I will tell anyone I can that is considering a divorce to go to Anne or Eric. I was very pleased with the service and felt the cost was fair as well.

I couldn't find enough positive things to say about my experience with Melissa if I wanted to. Her presence in my support hearing made all the difference. She advocated for me brilliantly. She had me prepared for exactly what to expect and had no hesitation answering all my questions. The follow up call after my domestic relations hearing was really beneficial as well. I found Melissa while in the middle of a complicated custody case. I was looking for a new attorney as my previous one kept dropping the ball. Melissa gave me enough pertinent information in a 1 hour consultation that I could start making changes that I didn’t previously know I needed to make. I originally made an appointment for Leslie Arzt due to good reviews online. At my appointment I was placed with Amy Phillips instead. My gut said ask for the original attorney, but I didn't want to appear rude. After paying my retainer, Amy did absolutely nothing to process my divorce. She is unresponsive to communication, and very unorganized. Look at her office and the disarray. Anyway, I lost money, but my divorce was a breeze after using another firm. Ask for another attorney in the firm. A divorce can be a trying experience, but it doesn't have to be if you choose the correct attorney. Choose wisely.

We scheduled an appointment with Leslie in early June for a July appointment for a somewhat time sensitive legal matter because we had specifically been recommended Leslie for our situation. We showed up for our appointment, and due to an administrative mix-up on their part (blamed on a former(?) employee named Vickie) we were not able to be seen as Leslie had a meeting with another scheduled client. We initially rescheduled for the following week, but later received a call that Leslie couldn't make this newly scheduled appointment, either. Instead of trying to make the situation right (catering to our schedules a bit or something since they messed up the scheduling not once, but twice), we were basically told to find a different lawyer that Leslie recommends. So now we have delayed progress on our legal matter for over a month and have nothing to show for it. I also had to take a day off of work to make the original appointment work. This review is not about Leslie's legal abilities or even our personal experience with her directly as we never even spoke with her, but it's my understanding she was tied into our situation when we were attempting to reschedule both times.

I called for information to see if they specialize in representing as a tenant attorney. The lady said "we only do it for landlords." The website says otherwise BTW. And I asked did she know of any that do assist. I heard rummaging of papers in the background. Silence then she hung up. No end greeting, goodbye, nada. I'll take my business elsewhere especially if the phone service isn't wanting to help that business.

As I near $40k, over a year and a half in divorce expenses, I could not imagine having a better lawyer and ally than Dave Schanbacher. In divorcing the daughter and sister, of two county judges (from the county in which we and our children live), Dave has brought knowledge and accountability to a flawed system. His profound expertise has enabled him to sort out fact from fiction, and to beautifully navigate what is clearly an uphill battle, and this arduous process. While we still have much work to do, I can’t imagine having a better and more trustworthy attorney. My only regret, is that I didn’t hire Dave as my first attorney; instead opting for a local, and egregiously less talented local (Bellefonte) attorney.

What a relief to have found Dave Schanbacher! I was concerned about the first lawyer I hired, because they seemed distracted, unable to locate papers I had previously given to them and not able to grasp the whole picture. Worriedly, I asked several of my lawyer friends who they personally would use and each one recommended Dave. Boy, were they ever right! I was so relieved at the very first meeting, when he quickly went through my huge, messy pile of papers and was able to figure things out in his head, not even using a calculator. (wish I could do that) He's an extremely intelligent, driven man who cares about me and doesn't ever waste my time (or $). I've been pretty at ease going to settlements and meetings just because Dave is always so well-prepared, emotionally engaged and on top of every little detail. When describing him to friends, I always say the same thing- "He's like a dog with a bone; he doesn't give up!!!" So glad he's in MY corner and not on the other team.

Going to the law offices of Hoffmeyer and Semmelman is truly an experience unlike any other. You walk into the front entrance and you are transported to another world, leaving you desiring the bay and marina life. Boats to your left, boats to your right, boats on the ceiling and a lovely waterfall along the staircase ahead. As you follow the staircase, you are greeted by a charming young woman at the receptionist desk who is nothing but helpful and polite. The attorneys themselves are professional but approachable. My husband and I are very pleased with the service Jansen provided. We were looking for an attorney with integrity (which is hard to find in the legal realm) who knows the system, has a good repertoire with the courts and will get straight to the point. Jansen exceeded this expectation. We have 14 years of custody and family court under our belts and we’ve had our experiences with great attorneys and some not so great. Our case was complex but I felt as if Jansen gave us advice and knowledge not based on how much we paid him but he truly wanted the best for our situation. He’s not a hand holder but he cares and it shows. He didn’t nickel and dime us for every single thing but was reasonable with our time and money. He was honest and respectful. He got things moving quickly and promptly with his own vacations in between. Christine (secretary) is sweet and was very helpful as well. She works very well with Jansen and can answer general questions accurately.???????? Our case was all taken care of while having to deal with covid restrictions. Zoom calls were convenient and professional. Communication was excellent. My husband and I were included every step of the way. Now we haven’t had to go into court in person with him- our stuff was all done over the phone and he filed the necessary things himself in person. I feel like that’s the tell tale (game day in front of a judge) of a great attorney but I am comfortable enough from our interactions and my experience that he would do great. He knows his stuff. We would use him again!
