No one wants to go through a divorce. However, if you do have to go through a divorce it helps to have an attorney who is human and who has compassion and empathy for your situation. Mrs. Miller has represented me for over 9 years now as my ex-husband has been using the legal system to continue harassing me after divorce. Karla is very alert and attentive. She has great memory, very organized, very knowledgeable, and detail oriented lady. I have enjoyed seeing her cornering him in every single court hearing and deposition. So my soon to be ex husband and I are looking to file a pro se divorce. That is an uncontested divorce, filed by a single party with no debts shared vehicles and with an agreed upon arrangement for the sharing of children and payment if child support ( you have to specify your divorce as including kids or not and workout your parenting plan ahead of time). After printing the paperwork off, however, I wanted advice and a professional double check I had worked it out properly. Not only was the ENTIRE STAFF SUPER COURTEOUS AND HELPFUL but Audrey Lee Anderson was extremely professional and helped with all the fine details. She was a blessing to find and worked with both of us to ensure and notarize everything. I was able to file myself, as we wanted as little court interference as possible and she went over and guided us through everything step by step. Her office is lovely, her personality is fantastic and she ABSOLUTELY HAS THE CHOPS TO HANDLE LARGER MORE SERIOUS CASES. If I ever needed a family law or divorce attorney or knew anyone who did she would be my first recommendation. You have to remember that in life: YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR, and most lawyers with consultation fees have them because they are investing serious and caring thought in to your case from the moment you walk in. After having dealt with lawyers in my life for everything from family law to property law I can ASSURE EVERYONE READING THIS THAT SHE IS A PHENOMENAL ATTORNEY! Just a couple of things. 1) her address on google is not the address she is at (on google on 10/30/20 says 2nd street). 2) obviously because of that the pictures do not reflect her current office. The picture on google shows her near a bookcase. The office I saw had loose papers everywhere and file boxes all over the floor 3) you have to pay full price before even seeing her. Not a hold, but full price. Found this out afterwards. See #6 4) I showed up at the proper time and called day before, her team confirmed on the phone that my appointment was confirmed and said I’m good. They also said I would receive an email which I never did. 5) her office overlooks a putt putt golf course if that means anything 6) when I showed up on time, she dismissed me to be on speaker phone talking to someone about Porta johns. Made me wait 15min 7) finally when she got done, she said no one expected me because I “didn’t pay”. When I asked what the protocol was and what the cost was, the her office couldn’t log into square to bill me, I said I will make another appointment and she proceeded to wave her hand in the air to dismiss me and said “fine”. Take it how you want it. I’m definitely not giving five stars because I went to 2nd Street location and she didn’t even comp me for my parking. They also didn’t offer water or ask how I am doing while I waited. But also not giving her 1 star because we really didn’t talk that much. But take this lesson however you want it Update: nov 8 Thanks Audrey for your response. I have change the address for you to be the correct one now. Your welcome and after reading your response I have reduced the star rating.

Attorney Thornton represented me and was wonderful. It was emotional for me and looking back I am so glad I had her in my corner. Although she didn’t call me every day, I know she was trying to keep my fees down because she was extremely reasonable with her fees and time. I know that she has a lot of other cases because she is great at what she does, but she would work behind the scenes and gave me updates as I requested. I appreciate her not trying to rack up unnecessary fees or expenses at my costs. She didn’t always tell me what I wanted to hear, but she was straightforward and I respect that because she didn’t give me false hope. I knew what to expect whether I liked it or not. She also let me know anytime there were delays and why and continued working my case through COVID and all the shutdowns when things ran slower. Looking back I may not have always liked what she told me, but I know without a doubt she was honest with me. Her staff was wonderful and kind especially Jesse! I hope i never need another lawyer but if I do I will call her again.

Do not hire Amanda Thornton as your divorce attorney! I’ve never publicly written a poor review, but feel it’s necessary in this circumstance to help others. She doesn’t care about her clients’ outcomes and does absolutely nothing to fight for them. Ms. Thornton never offered any guidance and only did the bare minimum even when asked directly for advice. It’s very obvious she chooses the path of least resistance for herself. She’s very slow to respond (sometimes 2-4 weeks on important, pressing issues) and just blames everything on Covid. I wish my friend had chosen someone else as I believe the outcome could have been very different.

My first engagement with Kristin Amonette was exceptional. She took the reins of a very complex case and restored sanity and order to the process. I found her to be prepared as well as aggressive when she needed to be but advised me on multiple strategies to consider. However, my disappointment with her and the firm in general and why this is a 3 star review and not a 5 star is because she and the firm do not mange their clients well. It would sometimes take WEEKS to get calls back or follow through on important issues. I would frequently leave 5+ messages before getting a return call. I often felt like the firm would forget I was even a client, often having to retell the same information multiple times to get back up to speed, rather than the firm just being too busy to be responsive. I realize that attorneys take on more clients than they can handle in order to stay busy and make more money, but servicing your clients during very delicate negotiations where time is of the essence are table stakes for the amount of money being spent on this service.

My wife hired Mr. Potter to represent her during our divorce. Mr. Potter told me this was like tennis, back and forth. He told me keep calling our daughter even though my wife was saying everything goes through my lawyer- just got hit with a temporary order of protection. Mr. Potter told me he's just a hired gun, it's not personal. I'm not sure if he has kids or not, but it's always personal when it concerns your children. I find this man to just be another typical money first lawyer. And I want everyone to know that this guy lied to me over the phone, treated me poorly telling me he had more important calls to make. I was in essence, wasting his precious time. Again. My daughter's life hangs in the balance and his illustrations are tennis, hired gun, and my time is more important than yours.

My friend is in the army currently deployed and needed help with a custody/pay situation within the military. We were quoted a price totally different from what was actually given and was denied help because these people assumed that he was “wringing” the army. First of all, why would you make such a bold assumption that my friend is just trying to get out of a simple deployment? You don’t know his life, his circumstance or his chain of command. Secondly, my friend is getting underpaid by the army because of this situation and all he is trying to do is get this taken care of so that he can have a place for his child to live so that she can be in his life more. He’s an amazing father and all he needed was some help. The audacity is really blowing my mind. I wouldn’t recommend this law firm to anyone at all ever. Just disgusting.
