Beware Original Review: We did not hesitate to pay her up front and she has not responded to calls for two weeks. When I did finally get her on the phone today she was rude and said they were on quarantine from COVID but I was unaware that her phone was also in quarantine. There is a little boy whose safety and well being is hanging in the balance and this lawyer should be ashamed of herself for not returning calls, doing what she says she would do and then being rude when called on the carpet about her behavior. The bar association would be very interested in her behavior I am sure. Amazing how after that call suddenly we are now getting the papers to sign. Unacceptable! I would think twice about using this person as your attorney.

I called this awful man 8-7-2020 he let me know that he sold his practice when asked why his clients were not informed, his response was well I already have their money their problem! This law office used to have Derrick Lancaster as a lawyer & he didn't write my divorce paperwork for my ex correctly, so I needed a correction. He doesn't know anything about military law in my opinion since he got the divorce decree wrong by not including important information on there. He also would Not return calls when contacted to try to resolve problems. Don't hire this guy for a military divorce! He doesn't get it right. Jessica Skinner and her staff are outstanding! We hired her in 2016 after firing 2 other San Angelo attorneys that did nothing for us but take our retainers. We had been been fighting for custody of my kids since 2013 from a mother using parental alienation tactics and not following her court order and finally was able to retain a dedicated and moral lawyer who stepped up and was not afraid to battle for what was right. Mrs Skinner and her team promptly respond, in fact when she was not available at times to take action due to her being in court-her team/staff took the initiative and action to assure the situation was assessed. She is professional and just and will fight for you till the end! We won primary custody of our my kids in 2017 with modified visitation for the mother. We had to put down a higher retainer compared to our former 2 fired attorneys HOWEVER, Mrs Skinner took more action in 6 months after retaining her than any lawyer had in a year! Initially, I was skeptical about hiring a lawyer. I wasn’t sure if I even needed one. If I can give this law firm 0 stars, I would. I am utterly disgusted with this law firm. I typically never leave reviews for anything, but this law firm is nothing but a scam. I paid upfront 5,000 for a simple child support/ custody dispute. I can just say, Brett Pritchard and Brent, did absolutely nothing for my case but charge me an arm and leg. Before finding a different lawyer, I have paid triple over the original balance for a temporary order that even the judge questioned what was my attorney expecting. A year goes by with this firm, and my son was about to be taken away from his mother from CPS and yet they still couldn't read up on my case. When the CPS court arrived, my attorney was ill-prepared and even made the excuse he didn't know about the case until the day prior!!! Mind you, I was aware about the court hearing a week prior along with the paralegal, CPS workers, and opposing counsel. This law firm almost made me lose my son to the system if it wasn't for CPS lawyers who was able to put my son into my custody. However, prior to this, my attorney canceled my final hearing 3 times before CPS got involved. Which one, he canceled because of "scheduling conflictions," but when I confronted Brett about it, he said "he was on vacation." THEY CANT EVEN KEEP UP WITH EACH OTHERS LIES. I am filing for a grievance to the board, because a firm who doesn't represent their clients to the best of their ability, or even have the DECENCY to look over a case, then they shouldn't be practicing. And going to find a way to make this law firm black listed for military members. I never want another soldier to go through a scam law firm as I did.

Came here for a child custody/divorce case. Total price I paid, $11,144.75. What did I get from the judge. Expanded standard possession with no child support. I'm the father so of course I lost. No geo restriction on the mother. How much of this was negotiated by my lawyer or the judge. ZERO. No child support was agreed to far in advance of this case. The expanded possession order actually took time away from me. So to me the value was pretty poor. Now, what did I get from the law firm, I got told to do mediation, a $1,400 bill by the way, the mediator didn't mediate, he stirred the pot. Walked out of it with nothing more that what was negotiated without lawyers. I also showed up an hour late to mediation because I was assured that the appointment was virtual. This sort of disorganization continued throughout the case. My lawyer forgot it was a divorce case at one point, never mentioned a word in court about me actually raising my son for the first 2 and half out of his now 3 and half years of age, to the judge. A good many questions I had were also answered in a way that I guess the lawyer thought what I wanted to hear, but then when it came time to actually apply the law it was the exact opposite. So quality is pretty poor as well. My final bill that I just paid was mostly for messages that I asked about enforcement because my ex-wife had already begun violating the order. They charged me an extra $2,000 for that. If you want real legal representation, save your money and hire a lawyer outside of Killeen.
