This review has been 3 years in the making. I can't believe it has taken this long but I have to do it. They deserve it. This duo are among the most professional attorneys I have ever seen. They are compassionate, experienced and firm. With them, you never feel alone. Michelle Schmidt is a very empathetic person who is very understanding about the plight of domestic violence and different types of abuses. Her husband is a very experienced and knowledgeable attorney who knows the different facets of their practices. Their staff are also a great team of understanding people who work with their clients to get you the best results. Back in 2018 they worked on my mother's divorce and custody case. In my view, my mother's triumphant result was because of their skills as a duo of competent lawyers who care about their clients. We do not regret hiring this group.

My Husband went in for a consultation and he said she was AMAZING! We are looking in to relinquish/adoption and she was very informative. We couldn’t believe the consultation was free. I mean she literally provided us with the process in detail, and gave us helpful tips moving forward even if we chose not to work with her. We will definitely be working with this firm! The quality of service and attention to detail was impeccable. My Spouse is who actually went to the consultation, with the info he was able to provide me I felt as if I was there!

High level review (5 star+) I worked with Michelle and her team (Vernice and Julie). I am extremely satisfied with the legal service and the entire process. I got all I want including custody as a father with a reasonable cost and time. Detailed review I have never thought about a divorce in my life. But when it became a reality, I had to find a good lawyer who I can trust and encourage me to go through this painful situation. Michelle and her team are the right people you can trust and happily work with. I still remember when I met Michelle for the first time to consult my situation. She carefully listened to my situation and gave me a warm hug which toughed my heart. I dismissed by agreement my 1st attorney who was a family friend because he was not brazen enough to stand up for my rights as a father and more importantly what needed to be done to protect my son from his own narcissistic psycho mother, step sister and her parents. I have been through hell and back defending against serious false criminal allegations. I thought you protect your children by monitoring their social media. My advice now, stay out of your step daughter's phone because when you catch her committing a criminal act and cheating on her boyfriend she will burn you to the ground with heinous lies. Secondly as in my case do not run a business with a woman like I married you may find out like I did that she is embezzling the payroll tax money for her own piggy bank and planning to send you off to prison to cover up her crimes while she is enjoying an affair with your son's baseball coach. There are thousands of attorneys to choose from but you need a professional like Dennis Slate. If you want an attorney who will do what is in the best interest of your child and make sure you are not jerked around by the opposing counsel then hire Dennis Slate! Dennis and his firm are the team you need. Their are no words sufficient enough to express my deep gratitude of how Dennis used documented evidence and his skill to finally return my son to me. Dennis also has a paralegal Ryann and she is a very skilled intricate part of the Slate team! Take it from me Dennis Slate delivers and he cuts out the unnecessary BS in the system when possible and he doesn't let opposing counsel run the show by any means! He may be a man of few words but he is a bull dog in court and he quickly shreds liars on the witness stand.

I was represented Pro Bono by this law firm. I quickly realized the lack of care within their representation. I was lied to and manipulated into signing documents in order to keep my case at low cost. When I called to question the process, I was ignored. I called back several times and finally heard back from Mr. Enos. I broke down in tears asking for answers. Mr. Enos replied, "Take your crazy self somewhere else." He used personal information to insult me when I questioned his firm. He is fully aware that I was diagnosed with PTSD from all of the abuse in my marriage. Not going to court caused irreparable damage to my family as I was never given the chance to speak with a judge about the abuse within my marriage. I was told to sign documents with promises of an eventual court date but the firm stopped returning my calls once I signed the papers. He is probably a good lawyer when he wants to be but for my case he was negligent and corrupt.

I wish I'd done my divorce myself. They didn't return phone calls and didn't do what they said they would do in a timely manner. Overall they are pleasant to deal with. They said I would be charged a flat fee for my uncontested divorce, but turned around and charged me an extra $1000. I have heard other attorneys are much worse. Just a rip off. I guess this is par for the course with attorneys. I feel ripped off and just overall betrayed at a time of emotional strain and upheaval in my life.

My personal experience with Mr Burwell was horrible. He didn’t do anything he said he would do. He waits till the last minute to prepare. He gets frustrated and agitated because he’s not prepared. He easily angers when you ask him questions he can’t answer. And when you point out his wrong doing, he will result to belittling you and hung up. DON’T TRUST HIM TO HANDLE YOUR LEGAL MATTERS. You will regret your decision if you do.

Ed is nothing more than a con artist... His hustle is to lure potential clients in with a sign on West Little York that says "cheap lawyer".. Once Ed gets your money, you will not hear from him again. I'm totally shocked that he hasn't been disbarred from practicing law. Just look at all the complaints that has been filed against him.. Not only does he not show up for court, he doesn't notify the client of their court date. I found out about my court date from my wife's attorney.

WORST ATTORNEY EVER. I hired Edward for months and really thought he was doing his job & cared about my case, but I was completely wrong. HE WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY & NOT CARE. After months having Edward has my attorney Mr. Edward withdrawal from my case out of nowhere. Thank God he did, because after he did, I got a way better attorney & they told me things that Edward never told me and brung up to the judge that would’ve helped my case a lot & made a difference. Worst communication ever. Never picked up calls or answered emails after a week or 2. PLEASE DO NOT HIRE EDWARD BURWELL AS YOUR ATTORNEY.

Mr. Schmitz is a fantastic attorney. I contacted his office to handle my high conflict case after hiring four other attorneys. My case was very messed up, and it was highly stressful. I was delighted with the results I got in the trial. Mr. Schmitz is very knowledgeable about family law. He taught me a lot as well; I will be graduating next week in paralegal studies. He returns phone calls and emails quickly. He is personable and helped me to calm down. Mr. Schmitz restored my faith in attorneys. His paralegal, Molly, is terrific as well. He is more expensive than other attorneys, but well worth it. Do not waste money on other attorneys.

Excellent attorney. I’ve had him on retainer for the better part of 5 years. 2 modifications and one contempt hearing, and we haven’t lost yet. He is very knowledgeable, not only of what is possible but of the judges and other attorneys that he has faced over the years. I appreciate that he is not a tell you what you want to hear attorney, but will tell you the truth, and this is what you need. When our trial came up each time he was fully invested into it and came well prepared. He is efficient with time and is not going to waste your money. During our consultation, Margaret Tucker listened and laid out the difficult journey to an attempt at refining my custody agreement with my ex-wife. Her knowledge, passion and ability to provide calmness in a chaotic situation made it a "no brainier" in hiring her. To be clear: 1. Margaret took my case and had no issues telling me truths that no one wants to hear; 2. She took on a case that is one of those "fathers fighting for their children" situations; 3. Although the case was through Texas, she took on a client that was halfways across the country; and 4. She took on a case that had a 10% chance of winning it's best scenario. I trusted her for my divorce, child support & custody but I was harshly abused by her. She has been taking money from me for 2.3 years & withdrew as council after my case got dismissed due to her negligence. She was always late on hearings, mediation & filings. I had to find a new attorney after wasting 25K & 2.3 years of my life.
