Poor handling of my sister’s divorce & child custody. Overly charged for repeating work and useless pleadings. Still got no result with a big payment.

I trusted her for my divorce, child support & custody but I was harshly abused by her. She has been taking money from me for 2.3 years & withdrew as council after my case got dismissed due to her negligence. She was always late on hearings, mediation & filings. I had to find a new attorney after wasting 25K & 2.3 years of my life.

Hee Jin Chang represented me in a nasty divorce with many hours of mediation. UPDATE: They are finally issuing my retainer refund today. However, I also just received the actual invoices and I am flabbergasted at these charges! They charged me $2,300 to file the paperwork with the County and then file the non-suit, 10-days later. That's all they did. No interviews, records requested, financial audits - nothing, because I changed my mind about moving forward 10 DAYS after initiating the suit. If you call this firm to handle your case, you'd better be prepared to spend $20k-30k+ based on these invoices. My attorney charged me $96.25 per email she sent me (most of which were two sentences or less) based on their 15-minute minimum "policy." ORIGINAL REVIEW: Nine weeks after closing my case they are still holding my remaining retainer funds. They keep telling me to “wait another billing cycle, per their policy” but even after waiting TWO cycles, I still do not have my funds. They keep telling me they’re talking to their billing department but no updates come, and still no refund.

One of the few honest lawyers around {ha ha I know it sounds like an oxymoron ;-), but it is true, in my opinion}. She tells you as is, the real facts, without sugar coating anything, that is what I like about her. I had engaged Nancy for my Divorce proceedings and believe me; it was well worth it. She looks out for you, and only you, her "Client". I recently called her up to get some guidance and advice with regards to ceasing child support payments. She promptly answered my phone call and gave me a detailed explanation as to what I would need to do. She could have very well ignored my call and asked her assistant to call me and set up a formal appointment with underlying fees etc., but she did not do that, because I feel she values her former clients. Frankly I was shocked!! to see some reviewers giving her only one star!!, well as they say there are 2 sides to a coin, I am pretty sure Nancy’s side is the right one. P.S. She is sharp as tack and has good diction and vocabulary. I enjoy my conversations with her. A true hard working, professional in her field, on whom you can rely on.

Called about a minor legal issue. Eric picked up the phone and right away asked a few pertinent questions, then told me I did not yet need to retain the services of an attorney. I have been around long enough to know some attorneys will over-complicate an issue, ask for a sizable retainer, start by doing "research", then come to the conclusion nothing needs to be done- oh and by the way, the retainer was burned up doing research which was really just top-of-the-mind knowledge. This attorney was very knowledgeable and direct. I highly recommend checking this firm out.

And Erin was able to break it all down into simple, manageable steps for me. She was extremely professional and courteous. She went above and beyond. My allotted time was 30 minutes but due to the complexity of my case, she spent a full hour with me. I found myself in a very messy divorce and needed a good attorney. I searched for Top Super Attorneys and went with one. A short while later I realized that she had her own agenda and I had to fire her. The moment I discovered Chris, I knew that he is the one to carry me through the mess. At the climax of the divorce process was the Psychological Evaluation of me and my spouse. It was evident that the Psychologist had manipulate all the results and came up with solid report recommending to the judge that my spouse should have Sole custody of the children upon the fact that my spouse had exhibited documented Psychiatric issue. With the sound judgment and experience of Chris, in no time he had the Psychologist deposed and rendered her report irrelevant. I don't usually do reviews unless it is truly warranted and deserved. Quite honestly, I found Mr. Eaton on google, made some 3rd party inquiries, and ultimately decided on his law firm. It was a divorce matter with some complex child custody issues. I am extremely pleased with the outcome. It was a very stressful time for myself and i just wanted to give in to the other party. I'm grateful that Mr. Eaton kept me on track, focused on my parental rights, and achieved an ideal outcome. Highly recommend. The reviews of Mr. Eaton are accurate - the positive ones at least.
