Brian takes your retainer and then doesnt contact you, communicate with you or service you like talked about. I paid him thousands of dollars I had to borrow to give and still have not one thing is resolved. At this point I could have a lot more to say but his business line is full so you arent able to leave a messages anymore. His secretary uses caller ID as I 'use' to call at the beginning and she would always, answer, "hello, b(*&&&" then one day after I called, it would ring once or twice and then forwarded to voicemail. This is on ANYDAY of the week and ANY TIME of day. He doesnt answer emails, texts, etc. I have asked and asked for months for him to answer my questions, help me, etc. Seems like he's out of business after taking my thousands. I wish I would have read the REVIEWS on him before I paid him as he has done this to others as well. I will also be calling the state bar about Brian. I wish I could be in contact with the other complaint this is on this site for the same things. I would LOVE to chat. If you ever read this I give permission for them to reveal my name and number to you.

I paid my retainer in 2018 and it’s 2021 I’m still not divorced... I have sent multiple emails with no response.... this is a simple uncontested divorce and just needs to be submitted to my local court.

My case just finished. I was being charged with two felonies, each punishable up to 5 years in prison. As a mother and college student being involved in the judicial system for the first time, I was terrified of losing my future. From the beginning, Mr. Burchett told me things were going to be okay. He listened to every detail and negotiated the best possible outcome for me, I was happy with the results of my case. Idk what to Even say about how impressive any wonderful type of person in the law Windsor was no hope left for me I went for sentencing and I was looking at my back time which was 7 years the craziest thing Mr.burchette pulled off was don't ask me how he did it but he did it come somehow got the judge to let me walk out of there without spending A a day in jail and got me a probation got my community service dismissed got everything dismissed for me when me and Mr. Burchat walked out of the court room shocked that this juat happened... we se my probation offixer and the Commonwealth attorney look at each others like what just happened out So if your having any type of legal issues hes your man I pride miss you you will not regret it he goes above and beyond he treats your case like it was one of his family members escapes professional very curries very honest like very straight forward hes a beast the best also the staff he has is very professional especially the receptionist she is very polite and very very nice and amazing lady like I've called they're never had any issues she's always very very polite even though I'm annoying sometimes and I can call like eight times in a row trying to get in contact with somebody show pick up like this the first time and every time I called

If you're looking for the best family law attorney in the area, Thomas Dance is who you need to hire. I was referred to him by a friend who is reluctant to refer anyone for anything. This is the attorney you need and want. Don't expect him to hand you a handkerchief while you cry on his shoulder. He isn't that guy. Mr. Dance is the guy you hire when you have an irrational spouse and you need an end to the drama. He will get it done. Unlike some of the other high end attorneys in the area, Mr Dance does not over bill for services that are not needed, nor will he take the clients answers to discoveries only to copy and paste them into court documents while charging billable hours for the effort. If you can afford Mr. Dance this will be the best money you spend during your divorce. His advise is spot on. What he will save you in emotional stress, monetary loss, and your overall sanity in the long run is worth every penny upfront.

This is the second time I have retained Mr. Dance as a family law attorney. First in my own divorce case and the second for my daughter's custody and support case. For my own case, I retained Thomas after working with two prior attorneys for 2.5 years and not being able to come to a resolution. Within a couple of months, Thomas lent clarity and focus to my case and resolved it in record time. So when my daughter was in need of counsel concerning support and custody, it wasn't even a thought, Thomas was who we called. Thomas saw the case immediately for what it was, removed the emotion and in no time was able to get the case resolved in a best-case-scenario fashion for my daughter and grand-daughter. If you are in need of a family attorney and can get in with Mr. Dance, do yourself a favor and retain his services.

I located the services of Ms.Stewart for my partner back in 2018. Fast forward to 2021 and we are both still very happy to have her on retainer for our legal needs. I was planning on writing a long, scathing review about this office; but I'll keep it simple. Jennifer Simmons is an incredibly rude, and unpleasant woman. The junior attorney that was assigned to me did a well enough job with my case (hence the 2 stars instead of 1), and I hope that they go on to be a successful attorney at some other office in the future. That said, I would not recommend going to this office, just because of the person who runs it. Very rude. Very Nasty. Very unempathetic. Stay away.

I typically would avoid putting my own stuff out there, but saw some of these postings and felt compelled to write my experience as it is relevant and quite current. Allow me to preface this by saying that if you are looking for the most inexpensive, cheapest attorney – then Jennifer is not for you. She is a professional and a SME in her profession. Experts cost money folks I certainly don’t expect to be paid pennies on the dollar for my skill level. With that being said Jennifer is one of the most ethically sound attorneys that I have ever had interactions with…Almost annoyingly so…lol.. Therefore, please take note: If you are looking for representation that will be on your side no matter what you do – She may not be for you as she represents the “common sense” approach and legally/ethically there is a right and wrong way of doing things. In my experience Jennifer works tirelessly to keep her clients on the “right” side of law and ensure that their actions and outcome are fair. She is highly respected in the area courts, which informs me that she has maintained a positive reputation. Her staff has always been courteous and open in communicating with me in a timely manner. I appreciate her work and would recommend her to anyone.

I have been working with Jennifer Simmons for about 2 years on my child custody case. Our case was quite complex, but I can say that through the process I always felt like Jennifer had my and my childs best interest in mind. I came to her lost and confused. What we appreciate the most is her honesty and how straightforward she was - Jennifer Simmons not sugarcoat situations and give us a false hope. If we were mistaking - she would say it. She was committed, involved and professional. She gave us advices on how to handle difficult situations and did more than just assist us legally. She guided us to grow as people and to learn how to handle stressful situations better - which does not have have a price tag. Jennifer Simmons is not the cheapest attorney out there, but we truly believe she is the best.

Jennifer Simmons is a terrible attorney. She represented me in a child custody case. She was rude and made me feel humiliated. She would threaten me, and pressure me to settle. I paid her over $12000. One week before trial, she had used up all my trust account money ($6000) and she asked me for an additional $6000. She wanted me to pay this now or she would not work on my case (this is against ethics rules). I paid her $1000, then a couple of days later another $5000, but she had stopped working on the case, missed deadlines and then because of this she forced me to settle as she was unprepared for trial. Again, do not use her, especially if you are a man. She took all $12000 for settling a simple child custody case,I believe she padded her invoices. If you too have been ripped off by this attorney, I recommend you file a complaint with the VA State Bar.

Very disappointed with the service here. Specifically with Nupur Bal. I found her via Richmond time magazine as one of the best marital attorney so I thought she’ll be the best person to hired for my prenuptial with my fiancé. During our meeting, I specifically asked for her to note to have my dog in the contract. When the agreement is drafted, he was not mentioned on there, I feel like I got a run of the liter contract literally. Another negative experience was when I emailed her regarding some questions, waited 2 weeks no response from her, I also reach out to her assistant dotty at the time no response either. Turned out Dottie had retired - but this is no excuse for Nupur to not respond to my email. Of course this got resolved and I was told she got a new assistant now, once again I needed modification to my prenuptial and emailed her to do so, it’s been a month plus and I hadn’t gotten a respond. These experiences can’t help but to make me feel very unimportant after putting down $2500 as retainer and with already $1800 taken out of it for this contract. Mind you I get charged for any corespondent, which I don’t mind if she would do her job. Anyway, I received an email 2 days ago from Nupur to follow up on my prenuptial and was charged $41 yesterday for her email, I hadn’t responded yet but I will email and terminate my working relationship with her. But really like seriously? Your only job is to help me, while you can’t respond to my other email which I paid for is ridiculous, how she won any awards really is questionable to me on my experience of how she handle clients. We ended up using another attorney for the agreement. It said I only have $700 left from the account. I took my already $1800 paid as a lost cause and work with someone else and not have to baby sit her to follow up. I would not recommend Nupur Bal to anyone and highly recommend you to find someone else.

Sharon is an amazing attorney! She is very personable and fun to chat with, which makes the whole process much easier. She is also extremely knowledgeable and very experienced in estate planning, wills and trusts. Sharon has checklists for everything, making sure you have all of your bases covered for all circumstances. After your consultation, she puts together a comprehensive package, and on your next meeting, you leave with everything you need -- broken into labeled binders, separate folders, etc. You can then store your files or give them to the proper people in your life, getting all of your affairs in order. And, all of your documents are also on a thumb drive as well. I'll be honest -- I went into this whole situation dreading it (acknowledging your mortality, a mountain of paperwork). But Sharon made this, dare I say, fun? An incredible weight has been lifted off of our shoulders with this responsibility finally checked off the to-do list. Throughout the process, she made it as easy as possible, answered every question (and when we threw her a curve ball, she researched the answer), and was great to work with. And, we left her office knowing we were fully-prepared. We cannot recommend her highly enough. The day we left her office with our materials, I emailed friends and co-workers with her contact info. Those who have also used her services rave about her as well.

I contacted Chris to understand the process of a non-contested divorce. He met with me twice at no charge to gather information and help me understand the process, which he did expertly. He explained technical legal jargon clearly and answered all of my questions patiently. I felt confident and comfortable moving forward with the divorce through Evolution because of how well I was treated and how much I felt valued. I also interacted with several other members of Chris' team throughout this process and everyone was friendly, communicative, punctual with responses and paperwork, and extremely helpful overall. They really helped alleviate a lot of the stress and anxiety that can come with going through something like this. Now, for his Pre-Agreed Pricing: All my life, I've heard horror stories of exorbitant legal fees creating financial crises in people's lives. Knowing I wouldn't be nickel-and-dimed was appealing because I could budget and predict my finances around this process instead of being hit with unexpected expenses and fees. Also, I was astounded just how much time and work was covered under one pre-agreed price. I honest and truly felt that I got much more than my money's worth. “Recommendation”/tip (via family): If your case is being adjudicated in the County of Henrico, by all means, have Napier take it on, as she's very tight with members of this court system. I.e., When you’re dealing with a government institution like Henrico courts, network(ing) supersedes skill/expertise.
