Lisa Martin was very helpful and caring. She was there when I couldn’t be for my mother. I really appreciate her help during the divorce. A wee bit spendier than others but it was totally worth it

I would very strongly recommend against working with McKinley Irvin on your divorce case, and specifically recommend against working with David Gross. I recently got out of a horrific 14 month divorce case and worked with David that entire time. There was probably no way to really avoid trial, my ex was going to force that one way or another, but I found David's approach to be ineffectual at every turn. One major issue was lack of time. For 14 months, i heard about how busy David was with other cases. How he was working 14 hour days every day and had so much scheduled that it was all he could do to put out fires and make it from one thing to the next. This is not the mindset you want in your lawyer. You want someone who can take time to actually think about your case. At least three times David had to delay a hearing or miss a deadline for personal or other reasons. Each time I incurred extra costs, thousands of dollars all told for extra emails, extra court appearances, requests to delay etc. Etc. His staff duplicated work and would charge me twice for the same thing. Probably because they were too busy to know what was going on. They took over two months to simply turn in my discovery answers to the other side. David was uninformed on multiple legal questions and gave me incorrect information on paternity in my case. He also did not bother to research self employment issues as they pertained to my case, despite my addressing this with him months in advance and finding him an expert to consult with (who he never called) and was actually asking me questions during the divorce trial to try and figure out his response to the petitioners side. I saw no real evidence he had actually prepared for my trial, he was also asking me during the trial what he should ask during cross examination. The biggest misstep was certainly appointing a guardian ad litem. This went from "I have already spoken to two great people ready to step in and do this" to "I don't have anyone lined up but we have plenty of time " to "I have no one lined up and there is no time at all so this will barely get done". Ultimately he accepted someone recommended by the opposing lawyer and then the guardian ad litem actually lied under oath. He didn't bother to point this out, although it could have been proven by just referring to one of the available documents. I have a feeling he recommended we appoint the gal just because this had the potential to reduce his workload. Ultimately she is why I did not get custody of my kids. About those hundreds and hundreds of pages of documents I uploaded at least three times in preparation for the trial? Didn't bother to refer to those either. Did anyone actually read any of it? Doubtful. When you schedule two trials for two different clients in the same week, how can you possibly be prepared for either one? Bottom line: I spent many many tens of thousands more than my ex and David got completely murdered at trial. Did they actually do half of the stuff they billed me for? I have no evidence of it. Run far, far away from these people.

There really aren’t words to describe what Lisa Ward has done for me. Lisa took a very messy and extremely complicated anti-harassment case against me and with true skill got it dismissed. I was so blindsided by the case against me that when I came to Lisa my anxiety was at an all-time high. She assured me that I could hand over my stress and anxiety to her and that she would do everything in her power to defend me…and she did just that. I can’t tell you the relief I felt every time I met with Lisa whether it was in her office or before/after the hearings. This case was moving fast and the evidence against me felt insurmountable. Lisa placed priority on my case because it was moving so quickly and sifted through the evidence with a fine-tooth comb, explained in detail all possible outcomes, and came up with a game plan in record time. Lisa knew my budget and she broke down exactly what was necessary and what wasn’t and allocated her time and resources to make sure my money was being used efficiently. Watching Lisa walk into each court hearing gave me a sigh of relief. Her passion, poise, and skill in the courtroom is incredible. Navigating the noise of this case and sorting out what was relevant and what wasn’t was masterfully done and led to the eventual dismissal of my case. Moreover, Lisa has a very personal approach with her clients. This was deeply important because this case was personally difficult and very close to home for me. Lisa was there for me whenever I needed her, checked in with me often, and I never had to wait for a response from her which is so critical when you have so many important questions. I strongly recommend Lisa Ward for any of your legal needs. I truly can’t speak highly enough of her.

I wasn't a client of Elizabeth Christy's, however, I gave my boyfriend at the time the money to pay for her to try to get full custody of his daughter. She was late to court, which is completely unprofessional and seemed unorganized and didn't use much of the information we provided her. I regret not having researched more lawyers and found one who is willing to work harder for their client. Right now she's probably spending more time replying to Google reviews than working on cases for her clients. I don't recommend using her.

I hired Anna Sept 2019 to handle a big headache of mine; a change from out-of-state to in-state custody between me and my daughter's father. I won't go into the details, but there were serious issues involved that needed delicacy but also firmness. Anna was just the attorney (and woman!) for the job. Not only did she adeptly navigate the formalities for me, she also helped set me straight on what truly needed to be accomplished (and what could be accomplished). Anna made our first work-experience together painless. We struck a custody deal that I feel was the best outcome for our daughter. I could NEVER have gotten a deal like that without her skills. BUT THEN! Just a few short months after we settled the case, another big change happened in our lives and it was back to Anna to help us negotiate a new custody agreement that I was not sure was going to end pleasantly. As it turned out, Anna showed me how the law was in our favor. In the end, we were able to re-secure the best custody arrangement for our daughter despite the awful circumstances. Anna pulled through yet again with no less enthusiasm or empathy. She is prompt and also handled my "freak out" moments with grace and understanding. "Thank you, Anna, for being objective and kind in those moments." I've worked with other attorney's before and her work ranks among the best. I didn't get everything I "wanted," but I got everything I needed. I couldn't be more thankful for having found Anna in our time of need.

My experience with the Elizabeth Christy Law Firm in Vancouver started out a bit rocky, but then I meet Conor Buie and he saved me! Conor was very professional all in the handling of my divorce and my divorce got a bit messy, as most do. However, Conor took the time to make sure all my questions and concerns were answered in a timely matter, even when they shut down the courts due to Covid-19. He answered my emails and we even spoke over the phone a few times especially when I really needed some understanding. Furthermore, the Paralegals that work with Conor are also wonderful and handle things in a timely and respectful manner. I would recommend Conor and this Law Firm to anyone who is needing attorneys who take you seriously, are understanding, and most importantly take time to meet the needs of each client they have.

Due to my financial situation, I wasn't able to hire Jeffrey for representation (although I would have if I had been able). Instead, Jeffrey offered me an alternative to review paperwork and assist with pleadings in my family law case. He also answered all my questions throughout my journey. From the first email, he was quick to respond and also very forthcoming as to what he felt would help me and what would not, keeping my end goal at the forefront. His assistance was worth every penny, which was more affordable than anyone else I had come across. Very impressed by him and would recommend him to anyone, 10/10.

I would recommend highly! Jeff went above and beyond, he represented me on a charge early 2019 with great results. He was very open and understanding Always responded in a timely manner, only one time did I not get to talk to him until the following day. A huge thing for me is that he didn't give up on me, when he didnt get the results we thought were fair he was persistent in dealing with the prosecution multiple times even going to the guys superior with our evidence until finally they bowed down. I have dealt with a few different lawyers and I def felt like he was with me not just representing me.

I was looking for a family law attorney in Cowlitz county. Unfortunately, all the attorneys had prior engagements. I looked up reputable attorneys on AVVO and Holmes Law Firm came up with great ratings and reviews. I called and left a message and kept moving through the list. About 30min later Mr. Holmes called me back. He informed me that he no longer practices law in Cowlitz county but gave me a few suggestions on who to contact. I really appreciated him taking the time to call me back even though he didn’t have to since he couldn’t represent me. If I ever move I will definitely contact Mr.Holmes in the event I would ever need a great attorney.

Professional and calming through a challenging situation, yet there is also a personal touch to how Kevin and staff serve their clients. No regrets in hiring and although I hope to never need these services again, I am happy to say he has my trust and business should there be another attack in the future. Jeff was my divorce lawyer a few years ago. In reflecting on my experience, I feel insulted and deceived by the whole process. I will summarize my experience under two points. (1) Lack of care: Jeff never looked out for my interests or wellbeing. His actions showed that he did not care about my outcome in the divorce. During the divorce mediation, he did not argue on my behalf even though I presented him multiple points of contention: That my business was unrealistically over-evaluated by the appraiser. That after divorce, I would be the only one financially supporting my kids until they graduated from college. That my ex-wife was healthy and capable of working but chose not to work. Jeff never confronted the other party with these points and they were never factored into the final mediation agreement. (2) Poor communication Jeff never clearly and honestly explained the legal proceedings to me. I felt that Jeff intentionally left things vague to lengthen the already difficult process. Jeff never took initiative to help me prepare for any legal procedures. I was the only one that initiated preparation in anticipation of legal battles. Jeff took a blasé approach to the divorce. When I realized I needed to renegotiate the terms of divorce, I reached out to Jeff and his office many times to discuss the results of the mediation. Jeff texted me that he was on paternity leave and directed me to talk to his secretary. His secretary never responded to my calls and voice messages. - Ever since the divorce, I have been working 6-7 days a week to ensure that I can fulfil the alimony payments, support my kids, and make ends meet. I took time to write this review in the hopes that others may avoid choosing Jeff as their lawyer.

I was looking for an advocate to fight for me and my children who are now in a victimized circumstance with their father. Jeffrey Whalley is very soft and did not have the interest in my children’s well being. I will never forget when I first heard of the courts decision to allow joint custody with my twins father, Mr. Whalley’s words to me were ‘it is what what is”. My children are now in a circumstance of harm and I recently received an $8000 bill without any trial and just by communication only. Beware, this man will only nickel and dime you and has no interest in being empathetic, unlike his website says. This man is a dishonest cheat out for money.

Had a consultation with Jeff, and his recommendation was to get healthy after having surgery on my ankle from an assualt. After several months have gone by I called back many times to get a run around. Finally after I spoke to someone other than Jeff, they would not help me with my case with no explanation. I could have sought other legal advice months ago but trusted Whalley law. I would not recommend this law firm.

I had the pleasure of working with Shane Cridlebaugh. Let me start off by saying I saught him out cause I was in need of an attorney, he didn't seek me out. So he isn't out for money. In my experience it was the opposite. I had a mess of a case, probably the worst this firm has ever seen. Not only did Shane work with me to keep costs down but every move that was made was explained in full . His passion for families and integrity truly showed . When he makes a mistake or the "wrong call" he works hard to fix it. He is blunt, honest and communicative. Shane will be whom I call for now on.

Shane was my sister in laws attorney. I had the displeasure of meeting with him on SEVERAL occasions and to say he is a spineless attorney is a KIND statement. He is exceedingly judgemental and never took his client's words or best interests to heart. This case was not about win or lose, this case was about integrity. Shane had none. He had my sister in law do so much foot work for the case which included making copies for him then proceeded to take every last penny she had. He never fought for those children, never kept their best interests in mind, never allowed her to speak to the judge, and even refused to use this mother's testimony. He would brush it off and say next time. I am sad for my sister in law. Sad that she had to deal with a person with such a low moral compass, such little care, the only care he CLEARLY had was for her money.

I am not trying to be facetious or vindictive, but I had used an attorney who had done a much more efficient job with a three thousand dollar retainer that lasted over six months. Your office left me practically bankrupt, drained me of all of my resources and then dropped me as a client right before trial after you took everything. I will be reporting your offices to the Bar association for abuse of billing as well as using excessive billing to fail to represent clients in trial. I was absolutely billed in excess for very little done on Mr. Cridlebaugh's part, lost almost all footing legally. Your offices failed me in more ways than I can begin to recount. The fact that I have had more success representing myself attests to that. I am more than appalled at your office's blatant greedy behavior and draining a single mom for every penny only to drop her with nothing right before trial.

Mr. Braswell (Blado Kiger Bolan) represented me in a very complicated divorce case involving five children. The case was complicated by a divorce decree obtained (without my knowledge) from another country. At the very beginning, Mr. Braswell clearly explained the law that was on my side, but also warned me about all possible outcomes. Fees were discussed up front and there were no surprises at the end. He always answered my emails and returned my calls. He always updated me on what was going on with my case. His confidence, advice and guidance relieved my stress during extremely difficult and painful times. It was easy for me to trust his ability to defend me. I was impressed with how well prepared he was for every hearing leading up to the trial. I was so intimidated by what my spouse’s expensive firm was throwing at us. But not Mr. Braswell. I was so amazed by his ability to maintain a calm, respectful and professional courtroom demeanor during trial. His questions for witnesses were organized and easy to follow. He was able to back my spouse into a corner with polite, but sharp and to-the-point questions! Mr. Braswell exposed all the lies and discrepancies. He won the case. He over-delivered. I have sole custody of my children. My ex-spouse was ordered to pay child support, alimony and my attorney fees. The property and business was also divided beyond my hopes. Looking at the outcome and at what I paid the firm – Mr. Braswell is worth every penny! I can start my new life with my children thanks to him. Mr. Braswell is an exceptionally sharp lawyer, but also a genuine human being. You just don’t find lawyers like him. He truly is a treasure in WA state and I highly recommend him without any reservations!

My review is for Chelsea Miller at BKB Law. Ms. Miller is an exceptional lawyer. She is personable, well spoken without being overly verbose or pedantic and attentive to her clients. I met with an initial consultation and she came to the meeting prepared. She'd already skimmed through recent documents so there was minimal "Tell me why you're here" when compared with other lawyers I've met with in the past. Despite having reservations due to past dealings with other lawyers, her presence set me at ease. She guided the meeting effortlessly (without checking the time every few minutes) and provided information I could use if I decided not to retain her services. Never once did she pressure me to retain her and never once did I feel like she was playing her cards close to her chest in order to force me to depend on her and retain her. Ms. Miller asked important questions, gave several options for a long term strategy and honestly answered every question I had with solid expertise. She is focused on cutting to the heart of the matter without allowing emotions or non-important information stymie the case. While I could continue to represent myself with the knowledge I've gained in dealing with the courts over the years and with what she presented during the meeting, I decided to retain her services. Her effortless confidence is exactly what I'm looking for in the upcoming difficulties I know I'll face. Based on how much care and attention she provided for our short consultation, I can rest easier knowing she will represent my interests in court.
