I am responding why gave this law firm 1 star. In the waiting area on the other side of office, I overheard the conversation between a client snd staff member. Staff member requesting payment and client responding.Staff member walked client to door and opened it for them. My friend's interview was in the big conference room.that was in front of wait area. I too overheard the conversation between lawyer and my friend. Your lawyer did not want my elderly friend as a client. That is your firm's right. I do not have an issue with that. After the interview was over no one helped my elderly friend who uses a cane to the door or or opened it for them. You law firm needs to treat paying clients and potential clients with the same common courtesy . You need to sound proof your offices and conference room.

Oh, these attorneys! If your loved one(s) do not have tons of assets, then don't even bother calling. They just want to charge you an exorbitant amount for a consultation. I don't think so. I came to Hornstein awhile back with my siblings cause I heard they helped settle the issue of durable powers of attorney in Woodland Hills area, and we worked out a triangle system between the three of us as to who would take care of who and who would make decisions if one of us couldn’t make their own. Last year my brother got in an accident and I didn’t have to fight anyone on how to take care of him. He’s able to make his own decisions again, but it was worth it to make sure we were each covered.

I got the heads up that getting my estate together before I died would be a good idea after my parents left a pretty disorganized mess for me to sort out. They had a will, but hadn’t set up any provisions for probate and my family ended up with a lot less than my parents intended. So I checked into estate planning attorneys in Los Angeles. I can't express enough how much I appreciate having found Steve to help me through a very complex and difficult probate. My grandfather passed away without a will or trust and a lot of assets and children that completely dislike each other - it's been messy to say the least. I've worked in the legal profession for over 20 years and was referred to Steve Grant by an attorney I work with, as I personally didn't know anyone who specialized in Probate Law. One thing about probate law is that the court mandates or sets the attorney's fees based off of the value of the estate. The fee is also paid from / out of the estate... so you don't pay by the hour, so if you're reading this - you're probably searching for a good probate lawyer and wondering if you can afford a really good attorney, and in a probate situation, it's really up to you, the individual (aka the administrator of the estate) to find the best possible attorney (for the set fee that the estate will pay anyways).
