When my wife and I were looking for a trust attorney we interviewed four different attorneys. We were most impressed by Justin Gilbert's breath and depth of knowledge. He listened carefully to our needs and requirements and he recommend we create a grant trust for our taxable assets and retirement trust for our pretax assets. Justin put in writing the scope of the services he would perform and the terms under which he would do so. I am a very detailed person, I read every word of the documents and I require that I understand everything in the trusts. I had many questions once I read the trust documents drafted by Justin and suggested changes that I thought were important. After doing extensive research on the Internet to find the best estate planning and family living trust attorney in the Sacramento area, my spouse and I narrowed it down to two firms. We had a free phone consultation with one of the firms and were impressed with what we found out. The other firm, the Goralka Law Firm, offered a free seminar which my spouse and I attended. In the seminar, which lasted about two hours, John Goralka presented a very convincing case for using his firm by going through the many mistakes that people can make when establishing an estate plan. This two-hour presentation gave ample time to interact with John and see how he thoroughly addresses these potential mistakes with his very comprehensive trusts. The seminar gave us much more confidence in using the Goralka Law Firm than the phone consultation we had with the attorney at the other firm, so we chose John to do our trust. We were not disappointed. The whole process from filling out the detailed questionnaire, to interacting with the friendly and competent staff, to our original meeting with John to review our specific parameters for constructing the trust, to the final meeting with John and the signing of the trust and all the related documents went very smoothly. We are extremely happy with our trust, and feel confident that we made the right choice in selecting the Goralka Law Firm. The trust was more expensive than the average living trust, but we are happy we spent the extra money to get the best product available. Saving money on your living trust can cost much more than the money saved if your trust is not constructed in the comprehensive manner John’s trust is. We have the most basic trust you can get from John, and our trust document itself is 64 pages. When combined with all the supporting documents of the trust, there are approximately 300 pages. After traveling across the country, during covid 19, John and his staff bent over backwards to insure that we would spend no more time in California than absolutely necessary. We traveled to probate an estate and also a trust. I always thought by having a Living Trust it would be so easy. I found out differently. My parents left their house in a living Trust and upon their death it would be left to my brother and myself. Upon the death of my brother I became the sole trustee but my brothers daughter brought a Will into it and tried to cut her brother out of his part or their dads estate. She didn’t want to share. Being the sole trustee of the trust I knew I had to find an attorney because this wasn’t going to be easy. I had several consultations with Estate Planning Attorneys prior to meeting with Tracy Poston Shows. She was recommended by my father who was recommended to Seasons Law by his CPA. Because of these recommendations, I was fairly certain that Seasons Law would be the firm I'd choose to do my estate planning. But I wanted to meet with other attorney's first just to learn, see what kind of questions they'd ask and how much they charged. It was an education, and I suppose it was worth doing, but after meeting Tracy and her staff, I pretty much realized I wasted my time. Tracy covered things with us that I didn't even think of, nor did the other attorney's even ask. Once Season's Law completed most everything, I was given a short "to do" list. Tracy had offered her time to have conference calls with me and my banking institutions as well as with my insurance company without charging additional fees.
