Alex and family are, unequivocally, the best team to have on your side when the help is needed. Not only did she take on my case when most passed me up, she never doubted that we could get my desired outcome. Beyond that, she and her team never stooped to the level of the opposing party. There were moments I wanted to just let loose and both Alex and Krista would rein me in and make clear it wasn't needed. Their focus was the facts and not mirroring the immature smearing that was coming from the other side. They truly became a short-term 'family' during my divorce and custody battle. Alex White is a predatory attorney. The charges she billed me for on totally unnecessary work were so outrageous, she charged OVER $5000 A MONTH! I have Autism and she tried to take advantage of me. Alex White insisted I needed a Guardian Ad Litem, which I definitely did not need. She just wanted to charge more. She doesn't respect or listen to her clients at all! I asked for messages to get to the other side of my case and I was lied to and given no hope even though it ended up NOT being the truth. The opposite of what I was told by Alex White ended up being the outcome once I switched attorneys AND I was only changed $1200 a month by the ETHICAL AND WONDERFUL NEW ATTORNEY.... It really sunk in the fact that Alex White is a completely unethical attorney and is an A+ abuser of power who is skilled at gaslighting people to try to gain control.

When you see the amount of documents that need to be filed it can feel overwhelming. Stephen sent step by step instructions on how to fill out the documents for both the petitioner and co-petitioner. All the documents are numbered in the top left hand corner making it easy to ensure you have the documents in order. I followed the directions and it was completed in a reasonable amount of time. I then mailed them to Stephen and it was finished. I would recommend.

Marc was my attorney in family court through a contentious divorce that lasted from 2012 through 2016. He believed in me, supported me, and fought for me. He is knowledgeable, articulate, and communicative. He kept me informed of developments and strategy as the process moved forward, and made me feel that we were working as partners. When we received the judge's decision, Marc felt that the court had erred by classifying a large portion of my separate property as marital. After researching the issue with him, I agreed. We filed an appeal with the appellate court and won. The court's decision validated Marc's interpretation of statute, and returned a large sum of my property to me. Marc stood by me and supported me for four years of litigation. He fought to regain my parenting rights over my two children and kept me informed of my rights and responsibilities in forming a parenting plan. Lastly, he won an argument at the appellate level that returned more money to me than his fees for the entire process. I would recommend him without reservation.

Do not fall for their “we are on your side” consultation! Jennifer/Jessica made me feel comfortable, confident and felt like they understood me but they are just after your money. After a month from signing the contract, they bill me almost $2000 and never even filed the divorce. The week I tell them I’m talking to other attorneys they charge me 22 minuets just to find the county which I’m filing the divorce! That may not seem like a lot but trust me, their “research” really adds up. One can learn more from a simple google search in 1 hour then what they had to dig up over several weeks. When I brought up that the charges were getting out of my expense Jessica came off so offended and suggested I LOOK FOR ANOTHER ATTORNEY. Get this, after a month of research, encouraging comments and emails (that were charged) she tells me we are on the losing side judging by the history of cases like it. Very unprofessional leading customers on and playing with their hopes. They may have lower retainer/rates but they won’t hesitate to take their time with things.

Absolutely amazing!!! Before I retained Sauer Petterson Family Law, I was honestly beginning to think my case was a lost cause. Brandi Petterson has consistently exceeded not only my expectations, but all of my hopes for my case! She has NEVER let me down. She has ALWAYS been available when I needed her. I retained Jeff way back in 2017 when I was having a dispute with the mother of my son. It was looking pretty horrible and Jeff helped talk me through many scenarios and strategies. Eventually i worked things out and then things blew up again in 2020. Jeff honored the money that was still on retainer even 3 years after the original agreement. I was clearly not a "big ticket client" for him but he treated me with priority anyway. He is no-nonsense and says it how it is according to the law. Its not his job to deal with the emotional part of families, just the legal part. His focus on the legality of matters is valuable and helpful in making informed decisions. Thank you Jeff for helping me better understand the details of this process!

In family law cases, I've learned that you don't just sit and wait to see what happens and risk it all. In my expreience today, if you need a lawyer who can help you with highest integrity and knowledge, and has full attention to details, call Jeff Alter! I found Alter Family Law Office on Google last night and sent an email this morning through their website about upcoming hearing this week. However, throughout the day, panicking I called 5 other high rated law offices in 'Denver and never once I was able to speak with a lawyer or anyone who can help out at an emergency. We needed someone to contain a fire as soon as possible, in the matter of the family law case for divorce and custody issues. However, Jeff called me back, on the same day! His free consultation was nothing short, but an hour long consultation where he was very attentive to details and set us in the hopeful direction.
