My mother and I had to revise and create very important documents. Raven worked with us directly, and truly we could NOT have been more pleased. She and all at the office were of course unaware of anything my mother and I had experienced with the sudden passing of my Daddy several years ago, and anything dealing with this and his and her estate can bring up tender memories. Not worth the price and did not live up to reviews. I was recommended by 3 different professionals to a particular lawyer, whom was not availabile, and I should have walked away not only then, but the additional two times my interaction with their staff was not positive. If they sense you are unhappy they will change their tune, but overall , they have their stance from jump about your case and will do little to rise against whatever the states tide is. I wanted lawyers who were not money hungry, and who believed in my story my story and would fight ferociously for myself and my daughter. And if they didnt believe in my stance then they shouldve never agreed to represent me. Not all files were obtained in time, last minute fees were charged or billed to me (knowing im a single mother and with court around the corner) demanding funds before work was even done alnd threatening not to represent you (for not being paid for work not yet done). They also cease communication abruptly and for weeks at a time. Lots of errors happened in court that they didnt even try to correct in themoment. Nw i have to eat a loss and pay an insane amount of money to ppl who never cared about the custody battle itself. Also, not talking about retainer fee, that is indeed common sense.

Hiring Tony Kehoe, at Gailor Hunt, to represent me on my divorce case was one of the best decisions I have made. I retained Tony after it became clear that my previous lawyer (at a different firm) was not looking to get me the best outcome possible or even asking my ex to provide adequate documentation. Tony very quickly got up to speed with my case, reviewed and organized all the old documentation from the previous lawyer, and then requested additional information from my ex to get me the answers I was looking for. He reviewed in detail all documents to draft the separation agreement. Every step of the way he comforted me by answering questions, keeping me in the loop when opposing counsel responded, promptly replying to my emails/phone calls, and making sure I was well informed to make decisions. I always felt like Tony had my back 100% with my best interest in mind. When our case went to mediation, he was very well prepared, organized, and quickly able to provide supporting documents to back up our claims. about 9:00 a.m. I called this firm back after seeing that I missed their phone call at 8:00 a.m. it took us a good 10 minutes to even figure out exactly why I was called to begin with. The first 10 seconds into our conversation were the immediate red flags. The young lady they have here who answers the phones is extremely rude and unprofessional. I might mention that this is the seventh time that I have spoken with this firm and not a single time they have ever remembered who I was. The young lady that I was speaking to this morning who answered the phone did not want to answer any of my questions without me scheduling a $500 basic consultation fee appointment. I might add here, that at a $10,000 minimum to handle your family litigation cases you might want to have a more compassionate and understanding associate at your firm who answers your phones and deals with your clients before they decide to hire you. If This were my firm and I was charging $10,000 per custody case I would definitely want to know that this was happening so I could make further arrangements for her replacement. From my experience this morning, I will not be hiring this firm. Make no mistake about it I did a lot of research on Jamie Davis here and she looks to be an excellent attorney however I will not get the chance to see for myself because I couldn't even communicate with her staff.

The day I decided to visit the Doyle Law Group was one of the saddest days of my life. My husband asked for a divorce after nearly 30 years of marriage. I had no idea what to expect. I wasn't an expert or anything close to it in terms of what my rights were. However, I soon learned within the 1st 15 minutes I had made the right decision. I first spoke with Mr. Doyle about my case. I never felt rushed or made to feel incompetent for not knowing " lawyer speak". Afterwards, I was told what to expect if I decided to hire his firm to represent me. I decided the next day. Shawna, who runs the office faxed, emailed, and communicated with me every single step of the way. This woman is impressive! Soon afterwards I spoke with my attorney Brian. He was polite and extremely knowledgeable about how we would proceed, but he never dictated what I had to do. We discussed and decided on the best course of action. If he didn't think it was the best course to benefit me, he said so and explained why. Brian and Shawna truly had my back, and in the end my smile was back! Lillie Ashworth is so amazing. No one ever really wants to need the services of a divorce attorney, however, when a friend recommended Lillie, I knew I was putting myself in the most capable hands immediately. She had the ability to balance what was incredibly personal and emotional to me with the professionalism and the knowledge of the court systems and the laws that we were getting ready to navigate. One of the hardest parts, I found in this process was how long the state of North Carolina makes it, and trying to get through this with the added obstacle of Covid. I know I would have never been able to do this without her keeping me calm and focused on the tasks at hand. Divorce is a business transaction at its core, but she was able to be very sensitive to my feelings while still guiding. She was very organized and kept me up to date on the work that she was doing behind the scenes on my case, I never felt like my case was not the most important thing on her desk, even though I know I was not the only client! She has the ability to look at my situation and not try and fit it into the same box as anyone else. She recognized that every case is different, and make me feel reassured. Lillie researched every aspect of my case and made me feel like she was searching for the solution to my particular problem and challenges. I would recommend her to anyone that is going through anything to do with family law. I Retained Lillie to help with separation and division of assets. Shortly after I was served with papers and then it turned into litigation and ended in mediation. Which ended very well for me because of Lillie. She is spot on ! Divorce is personal, but she takes that out of play and sticks to the facts and the law. First off I would like to give thanks to Heather, Jennifer, Diane, and the rest of the AMAZING team that worked with me on my child custody case. I will not go into details of the case but I will say it was a high conflict case. Heather was not only professional but she showed sincerity in her work, and was an extreme asset in my case. I can honestly say, without her expertise in the field of law the outcome would not have been as favorable as it was. As a single father battling for his two young daughters, I knew I was fighting an uphill battle. Heather focused on the bigger picture instead of just looking at the immediate details of the case. She brought all the positivity up that I provide our children as her main goal. Not only did she bring out the positivity but she provided expert advice for me to conduct on my own in order to help my case. I was advised to seek counseling and I reluctantly agreed, which helped out in the end. I can confirm that Heather and her team are absolute experts in their field. Not only was Heathers advice for me extremely helpful, but her and her team were very punctual and easy to get ahold of. I live in California which gave me a slight disadvantage for contacting them and returning emails during work hours. Regardless, they were always available if I needed to have a quick chat about something that came up. I was very pleased to have such an attentive team on my (and my daughters) side. When it came to our permanent custody hearing I was nervous because I knew the odds were against me. That is until I saw Heather and an entire entourage of legal aids, assistant attorneys, and helping hands that were walking along side her. They were carrying multiple luggage sized carts with notebooks, legal textbooks, trial notebooks for each one of them, and everything else you could possibly imagine that would secure a victory. THEY WERE PREPARED!!! This was one of the most relieving moments during our hearing. Not to mention my ex's attorney brought only a trial notebook that was maybe 1/50th of what Heather and the team had brought with them. As the hearing commenced I was consistently attacked by my ex's attorney and witnesses, which seemed to be the standard. I was even yelled at from one of the witnesses! Heather and Jennifer reassured me the entire time that we were fine and to maintain cool, calm, and collected. This tactic was very useful and showed me that Heather and Jennifer were very experienced and were able to maintain their composure during the very stressful times. And to wrap this up, I can truly say that I gained not only the outcome that I was seeking for custody, but I also gained some new friends. They became friends not because of the outcome, but because I knew they were not just in it for the victory or money. They showed compassion, emotion, and true dedication to getting an outcome that was best for my children. I will forever be thankful for the work Heather, Jennifer, and Diane did for my daughters and me. I hope this review helps somebody out that is in need of an amazing legal team. I hope that more dads that are truly in a situation where they need the best, are able to find Heather and her team and get he help they need.

Evonne Hopkins is very unethical and cruel. My soon to be ex husband retained her as his attorney. She has been "bulling" me for months. She has been making my life impossible. She allowed him to keep my clothes for 4 months. She allowed him to kept my legal documents and is now refusing to return my 2020 business expenses so I can file my 2020 tax return. She refuses to return my stimulus funds which is tax fraud. She has been committing constructive fraud since he filed in November 2020. She is alienating me from my children just to win a case which is based on lies and deception. I will be filing a formal grievance with the Bar Association.

My husband contacted NDFL a little over a year ago for a consultation with Carly Baker regarding child custody and visitation with his son. We live out of state in WV, and his child lives in Raleigh with his mother, so obviously good communication was very important to us as it just wasn't as easy for us to come into the office and do in person meetings. We immediately liked Carly very much, and felt she was very straightforward and practical, but also optimistic about my husbands case, and we got the impression from the beggining that the entire office was going to be efficient and very easy to work with. He had a few other consultations, but no one else made as big of an impression on him. He chose to retain Carly. From the get go it was very clear he had made the right choice. Carly was steady and reliable, while also being willing to be bold, and truly caring about his case's outcome, and his and his son's relationship. She and her paralegal Rosa had extremely good communication with us, we were never left in Limbo wondering what was happening, they were always prompt with not only responding to my husband, but also with communicating with opposing council. When Carly accepted an offer from another law firm, our case was transfered to Chris Hicks, and again, we had another great experience with Chris and Rosa. We were concerned about switching lawyers in the middle of the case, but they both did their best make the transition smooth. We also felt that both of our lawyers and their paralegal Rosa honestly cared about where and how our funds were being spent, and they did everything they could to give us the best value for what we paid them. From having Rosa prepare as much as possible to save on the hourly fee, to being straightforward with us as to what actions made the most financial sense while still being aggressive with his case, we always felt their billing was very fair. The entire firm, from the receptionists all the way up to the lawyers were always on top of their game and so nice and receptive. Both my husband and I are incredibly thankful that he had this law firm on his side, and we would recommend them and both lawyers to anyone needing a family lawyer in NC.

Chris Hicks was fantastic to work with! He was always responding quickly to all requests, which is a rare find with lawyers. He also had excellent turn around time with writing up legal motions, and all things were very well written and detailed. He was on time and ready for court proceedings, and seemed to have a good rapport with the judge - a very valuable thing when trying to have a case go your way. I'd highly recommend working with him if you ever are in need of a solid family law lawyer.

Divorce is tough, and unless you have no assets, no debt or liabilities, no children, etc., you need a good lawyer. I believe I found one in Sarah Hink at New Direction Family Law. Sarah was excellent at guiding me through and explaining the processes and steps that needed to be taken to obtain the divorce. I have recommended her already to a friend who was in much the same circumstances as I was. I would recommend her again.
