I was poorly represented by this firm in 2018. I was referred to a specific attorney working at King Laird who came highly recommended by another attorney. I met with this attorney and liked his takeaways on how to approach this case so I gave a $3500 deposit. This attorney said it would be a simple case and would cost no more than $5500. After three months went by, I never heard from this attorney or the firm. After placing the call, one of the owners called back and said the attorney we met with was fired?? I expressed my reluctancy to move forward with this firm but he assured me that we had a good case. I trusted his word and gave this firm a second chance. After 5 months, this firm failed to file an emergency order, like the attorney said he would after speaking the second time. Time was lost again! An order was finally put in place on the other party 5 months after the deposit. After six additional months into the order, the other party failed to abide by the weekly terms of the order and our attorney never addressed this failure by filing a motion during this process to enforce compliance of this order. In fact, the attorney said, “we need to show a pattern of this failure to the judge to win our case.” I kept giving this firm a “second chance” for his negligence because I thought it was too late to change firms. This attorney kept changing his approach during the process, and would forget conversations I had with him and assigned another attorney to the case because he was too busy with other cases. He disregarded all the evidence I gave him to present against the defendant and said it wasn’t relevant? My “gut” was telling me he was not invested in our case and that other conversations were being held without our knowledge with the judge and the defendants attorney, because our attorney kept changing his approach and our case became less important. Two days before the hearing, the attorney sent over 135 questions to answer on paper and submit back to him. He was supposed to call and “PREP” us as witnesses and didn’t!! He NEVER called and allowed us to get on the stand UNPREPARED. We were attacked by the judge and the defendants attorney. Our credibility was twisted and criticized. It was clear this hearing was one sided as the defendant worked for the county and her boyfriend was a police officer that the judge said he recognized. The judge didn't care to hear about how for 6 months the defendants didn’t adhere to the order properly with phone calls or FaceTime. We were never able to speak with the children for 6 months and our attorney did nothing! The mother didn’t comply as she was the responsible party for the children. He had no closing statement to support our case when he said he would give a closing statement. We were threatened by the judge not to appeal, when it is our right under the law to appeal, and our attorney said nothing! Our judicial system and this firm failed my family and my grandchildren. It was very clear to me that the decision to give grandparents rights was pre-decided before we had a hearing. The final outcome of the hearing was a complete disgrace and the judge ordered no grandparents rights and no contact with the children until they are 18 years old, including the entire family. Our family still doesn’t know what the order means for the entire family because the attorney never had the professional courtesy to call us back to explain what the court order meant, when he said he would order a copy of the court order. I tried calling him and sent a letter and I never heard back from this firm. This firm billed us monthly giving unclear or no descriptions for the charges on the invoices. They received approximately $17,000 in legal fees in one year. We had to dispute unknown charges multiple times. This firm did not represent us in good faith, they made it worse for our family, but served their business model. I should have followed my instinct the first time when NO ACTION was taken. My family has not seen my grandchildren since January 2016 and regret hiring this firm.

Great experience for the first 12 months but last 30 days have been a disappointment. Andy and Tom were both really great and partnering with them provided positive results and outcomes so it’s really hard to give such an overall poor rating. —Specific concerns— 1. Inexperienced 2. Unprofessional 3. My attorney was often overwhelmed working with other clients 4. Issues raised were often disregarded, ignored, or completely forgotten 5. Legal counsel was hard to come by with philosophy and idealistic ramblings on parenting and people management prevalent 6. Callbacks and responses to emails needed to be heavily solicited I would be hesitant to recommend unless I was assured either Andy or Tom would be dedicated or very closely overseeing my case.

I contacted King Laird based on a friends recommendation, and was lucky enough to have Andy represent me in my divorce. The first time I met with Andy, he was very upfront and honest about my situation which is exactly what anybody should be looking for from a lawyer. He laid out a realistic plan and goal and told me what to expect. He gave me the advice I needed to get him and his staff the information and documentation needed to help move my case. He was very professional, explained the steps in the process, and was quick to respond to emails or requests to meet. Going through difficult and never easy, but Andy and his staff were very helpful throughout the process. I would highly recommend Andy and his staff to anyone going through a divorce. Can I give more than 5 stars? I wanted to take a few minutes to extend my gratitude to Andrew Laird and his office for all of their assistance in my DUI case. Mr. Laird represented me during the entire process, fully evaluated my particular facts and advised me of the potential outcomes and various plea offers extended by the District Attorney. My DUI would have been a 60 day driver’s license suspension and 12 months’ probation. His persistence paid off, he was able to work with the District Attorney for months to negotiate no driver’s license suspension, six months probation and a substantial amount less in court fees and fines. He kept pushing forward for me despite the circumstances. The level of communication from the office was beyond expectation. Mr. Laird provided status reports and if he was unavailable the other attorneys and his assistant were always available. They were all helpful with any questions and support that I needed during this process. They all went above and beyond. I would highly recommend King Laird to anyone needing assistance in their criminal case. I definitely rate the entire team 5 out of 5 stars. Thank you again!!!

Steven has been at my beck and call since I have acquired him for legal services in both personal property and family law situations over the years. He has superseded his duties by not only handling my matters properly and professionally but additionally by oftentimes preforming and presenting himself in court within short notice as needed. Moreover, Steven's demeanor is one of kindness, understanding and honesty although his council has been nothing but true and sometimes I don't like what he tells me, it is only because he is obligated to do so. He is well trained, exceptional at his job and will fight in your corner even when the going gets tough, which is never fun for either party.

Andrew Levin is the best lawyer, hands down. My daughter had a court appointed attorney who didi nothing for her. I knew I had to hire a private attorney. Out of all the attorneys I spoke to, Andrew was the only one who knew something was wrong. He got right on it, he got the police report and knew my daughter was arrested on a mistaken identity. He was able to get all the charges dropped. If it wasn't"t for Andrew, my daughter would still be in jail. He really cares about all his clients and goes above and beyond. Marta did an outstanding job handling my divorce in 2014. She was extremely attentive, caring, always prepared, knew how to handle difficult situations that arose, and there were many, always stayed on top of every small detail & fought for me and my rights right up until the divorce was finalized in June of 2016. I have known Joanne since 2000 and I have used her for multiple issues, from divorce to child custody, and to assist with my mother’s estate when she passed. These are very difficult issues to deal with, but with Joanne and her paralegal Sally, they make the process as smooth as possible to help you get through your tough time. Joanne is a Legal encyclopedia and an expert in her specialty of law and she works for every client she has. She will tell you the truth whether you like it or not. You will know what you’re entitled to and she will work hard every day to make sure you get it! I have recommended Joanne to several family and friends and every one of them called me to thank me and said they Love Joanne too! Because of her knowledge base, she can explain the laws to you in a way that you understand which puts your mind at ease. When I used her services, she was so good that my ex actually called me and asked me to get Joanne off of his back and his lawyers’ back because she was doing her job and looking out for my best interest! I told him absolutely not! She’s doing what she’s supposed to be doing, just give her what she needs and you won’t have to see her or hear from her until we meet in court. In addition to all that I mentioned, Joanne is very responsive to her clients. You won’t have to wait weeks to hear back from her, she will call you as soon as she becomes free either the same day or at the longest, the next day. Joanne is an awesome lawyer and has a very knowledgeable Paralegal, Sally! This power house team has every client’s best interest at heart and works very hard for each one, not one client is neglected! I highly recommend Joanne Kleiner with all confidence that she will get the job done for you like she did for me!

I went with a friend who needed legal advice upon the breakup of her marriage. Joanne was extremely thorough, understanding, and supportive. She also explained things very clearly so that the info could be processed more easily. Joanne was able to dispel any questions/concerns and offer substantive info. Also, she was efficient, stayed on point but also allowed opportunities for questions and discussion when needed. After almost two years of going through custody litigation with my ex, my husband and I decided to retain Michael per a family member's recommendation. I am so glad we did! Michael conducts himself with professionalism both in and out of the courtroom, and you can tell that he genuinely cares about his clients and his desire to work for the best possible outcome. In the courtroom, his questions and arguments are all about the children versus opposing counsel, who was more about mud slinging. Although we did not get the ideal outcome, things still turned out in a way that my son won, and that is what matters at the end. When the order came from the judge, you could tell that much of the verbiage was taken from Michael's proposed order, because he worded it perfectly and in a fair manner that covered almost every possible outcome. I am very thankful for everything he has done for us, and would most definitely recommend his services!
