Great lawyer! I got into some trouble and moved to California . Years later I wanted to return to Utah, but I had a few outstanding warrants for my arrest. Over the next few weeks Tyler worked with judges and prosecutors to get the the warrants recalled, charges dismissed, or that I only had to pay a fine.

David Pedrazas represented my boyfriend in a Divorce/Custody. He's now ex wife had taken his 4 children across country and prohibited the kids to have any relationship with my boyfriend for almost 2 years, we had to hire a Private investigator and had no luck until his oldest contacted him behind the mothers back. The ex wife justified her actions in court by making allegations of domestic abuse. It was a difficult case but David was so knowledgeable, honest and he fought for my boyfriend's truth. At the end the judge granted relocation of the kids and now my boyfriend has sole physical custody of his kids. I can't express enough how much he helped our family and how grateful we are for him. I really believe without him we wouldn't have won this case, he basically got everything my boyfriend wanted. David really cares about his clients and he's joy at the end of court demonstrated his commitment to bringing the children home. Thank you again David for your tremendous help we are immensely grateful.

I live in Georgia, my now ex-wife left the state with our four children and moved to Utah. She made false allegations of domestic violence to justify her reason for leaving and would not let me see or even talk to our children. I had no idea where she went and by the time I was able to locate them Utah had jurisdiction. I researched many lawyers in Utah. It was kinda scary to hire and pay a lawyer over the phone without meeting in person. I really wanted to get the best possible lawyer because my children were at stake and they asked me to please try and get custody. When I came across David I really felt like I had the right lawyer. I read all the reviews and they felt sincere, now I definitely know they were. David is a Great lawyer, the best I’ve ever dealt with! David is on top of his game and will not hold back! David is an exceptional trial lawyer, he is aggressive just like you want and really knows his stuff! David was always really easy to get in touch with and would call you back the same day if he was busy. I felt really confident through the whole experience with him on my side. I knew I made the right choice by hiring him. David is very thorough and suggested a GAL with turned out to be really helpful. David stayed committed to the case the whole time! I started the process with no contact or even phone call’s with my children. During the process David got me phone call’s, then visits. The outcome was amazing! I am still in shock of how great it turned out! After the accusations and the kid’s being gone almost two years David got me sole physical custody! The court ordered for the kid’s to come home to Georgia from Utah! He even got the court to order my now ex-wife pay child support. The court pretty much ordered exactly what David asked for. Just Law Family Attorneys is a great firm. I had the pleasure of being represented by Laura Hansen and she did a terrific job managing my case. She cares about her clients and fights for those things that are important to them. She has a great team helping her and it makes the hard parts of your life a lighter burden by having a tremendous staff. Conor is a paralegal and he is very knowledgeable with the laws and pays great attention to details involving the documents and procedures associated with a case. He is quick with correspondence and it is a relief to not feel like you are just a number in their system. Conor makes sure that you receive all the documents from opposing counsel and that you verify documents needing to be sent. Melissa is a case manager and is super friendly and is very knowledgeable in family law. Having witnessed the activities of this group on a simple case, but is now, thankfully, in the hands of another practitioner after three years of inaction, lack of correspondence of any kind, and a capitulating outlook on all case aspects. It is unclear if this firm has a caseload balance issue, or if there is a lack of interest on certain cases. Either could effectively describe the handling of the case in question. It was apparent early on in the case that there was little interest in strategy, with every answer along the lines giving into the demands of opposing council at every juncture. The effect on the client was negative and long lasting, as they were often left with missing or unclear instruction or response to valid questions. Attaining assistance was further hindered by an alarming rate of office staff turnover, resulting in inaction through lack of continuity. Promised and scheduled meetings or calls were rarely, if ever executed. Meetings that did occur were unproductive and non assertive, with an apparent mantra that the firm is just present to file paperwork and nothing more. The lack of communication also effected billing. Regular statements, and requests fore statements went unfulfilled for inordinate spans of time. Billing will, however, be expedited after a case is transferred from the firm to another. This firm is not one I would choose if I was seeking even the slightest amicable outcome. Whatever the reason for all of the issues in the handling of the case, it resulted in the additional effort and expense of moving the handling to another law firm.

I was transferred to Melissa who works directly with Laura hansen and I felt like I was speaking to a good friend. It turns out I won’t be needing their help for now, but if anything changes I will be calling back as I have zero doubt they have my best interests in mind. Although I haven’t had the opportunity to speak with Laura, I would retain her just to have access to Melissa. The company is lucky to have her.

When I began my journey, I had no idea what divorce would look, nor feel like. I do remember that the overwhelming feeling was one of distrust. Put her own profits above quality work. Her counsel was not in my children's interests. She put my case on a trajectory that I couldn't change before my kids suffered criminal abuse. I can see how she is effective for some, but I would not recommend her to help if your child's well being is at stake.

Best choice hands down dealing with Child Custody battle with my sons father. He wanted to play games with me and I knew some good word of mouth about Kara and I am so glad I went with her, she is one that doesn’t play games, she gets right to it and gets it done the right way and the way it should be done. doesn’t beat around the bush. She plays fair and by the law. She gets to the point and will tell you how it is and how it will be done. She is a little more pricey but you get what you pay for. I came out fair and reasonable with my sons father. Better then any attorney I think could have done. I have nothing but good things to say about The Barton Law Office such a great strong team. Loved working with every single person in that office! Highly recommend this law office

My experience with Barton Law Offices was one that was not expected, but has prompted me to actually write about it. This has been an incredibly difficult few years for me, and these types of situations, namely needing any type of legal assistance with your family, can be trying at best. I was concerned about even contacting a law firm, but when it became necessary, I looked at several. I finally retained Kara Barton of Barton Law Offices in Salt Lake City, and here are a few of the reasons I am relieved that I did. First of all, this is a small firm, which means that they care about assisting you through each step of whatever your process may be and seeing your case through to the 'best possible result.' Secondly, both Kara Barton and Ashley Wood are incredibly knowledgeable and well trained in their professions. They were true professionals and treated every party involved in my case with respect and the utmost sensitivity. They had all the answers, and assisted me through all the processes in a way that adapted to my particular needs. They know, and I believe, love to practice the law. I know that things could have easily escalated otherwise, which sadly usually results in years of cost and poor situations, normally for our children, and I can't express enough gratitude that this is the way they are running the firm. I felt all through the process that I was being treated honestly, with great sensitivity to my individual needs, and that they were there for me on all levels, both professionally, and as all around kind individuals. I truly appreciate being able to move on with my life now, with an agreeable and workable end for myself, and my children, and even my ex-wife. My sister was in need of an attorney who could take care of things for her and her husband. I found Adam for her through a search on the internet. The office called right away and put me in touch with Adam. He was very patient and knowledgeable in answering our questions. He explained exactly how things work and what needed to be done. Mr. McGarvey gave me a chance to make a change in my daughters life when I was told by many other attorneys that I didnt have a good chance of getting only 50/50 of my little girl. The moment we met he gave me confidence in himself and the plan he had put together and in no time I was in agreement with my ex to get 50/50. he was very knowledgeable and handled my case very fast. meaning I wasn't having to come out of pocket so much outside the retainer fee. I wish I had found him first 8 years ago over the 2 others that rep. me and didnt do much of anything. hopefully I won't need anymore help but I know ive got someone whose got my back if I do. ive already recommended him to other fathers and in Utah where they say "mothers rule everything" James gave me a fighting chance.

Wade was great to work with. I had a complicated divorce with a lot of businesses that were interconnected. Wade was creative in solutions and collaborative with my ex's attorney, which was important to me in coming to an equitable solution. Some cases require going to court, and Wade was ready and willing to do that, but he was excellent working with me and my ex in coming to an equitable resolution to our divorce without having to go to court.

We have worked with Wade Taylor on divorce modifications twice now; the first time he did a decent job. This time we have been trying to get a modification done for almost a year. He is literally impossible to get a hold of, he goes months without completing even the smallest thing, and we only ever are able to contact his paralegal. He has done nothing but still managed to spend our money; meanwhile, we are trying to get this modification done before ORS goes through based on the way the divorce decree used to be. We finally fired him because it turns out we can muddle through things on our own faster than Wade will ever do anything, and not surprisingly it has been over a month since firing him without getting the tiny remains of our retainer check back in spite of being asked to verify our address 3 different times. Divorce and modifications are not fun at the best of times; Wade has made it truly awful this time. 0/10 don’t recommend.

I was referred to Russ Hartvigsen from another attorney. Sadly to say, I paid the retainer for a flat rate to get me through settlement conference. However after a one page filing to reopen my case, I was able to settle with my ex on my own. In request for an invoice of work completed and refund of any balance I have sent probably 10 emails with requests and completely ignored. All integrity of this practice is lost when money is the only motivator. Now I have to hire another attorney to recover unused funds that was contributed to this retainer. Super! Would not recommend

If you're looking for someone who cares, someone who treats you like a friend, someone who follows through on his word, look no further...Russ Hartvigsen is the best attorney around! I have had several 'not so great' experiences with other attorney's in the past and this was not one of them. I met with Russ on a Wednesday afternoon and gave him to green light. That Friday just 2 days later, I had a signed order from the courts for this emergent situation I had been dealing with. He made it happen. He did what the 2 other attorney's couldn't do in months and even years. He treated my situation as if it was his own. Russ is attentive, loyal, caring, compassionate and more. I was stressed to start over with new representation, having to retell my life story while hoping the new attorney was invested/listening. I knew I had found my guy with only a consultation (free of charge.) Russ was and still is 100% dedicated and present with anything I need. Another benefit with Atticus Legal Group is the way they bill. In past experiences I felt anxiety sending emails, calling, asking questions etc, because I knew I was being charged left and right for, in my opinion doing their job. **Flat fee billing is how they bill...Not to mention lower prices than other firms out there. Ask all the questions you need, call, email, hey, even stop by the office, you won't be charged extra! Schedule a consult and see for yourself!

Absolutely one of the worst mistakes that I've ever made was hiring Steve. I'm no further in my case then I was 4 years ago other then I'm divorced. Yet his bill goes up . I've had 5 different attorneys from that office on my case and not one is still working for his firm. In 4 years I could give you so many reasons why not to hire him. He knows that he's done me no justice and I really believe that he feels good about it. I have a judgment on my ex that he has not done anything with. I showed up for court no attorney because it got canceled and no one informed me. I can't put my house in my name. I've missed out on 3 interest rates that are much much lower then what I'm paying. My last bill they were trying to charge me for the change in my ex attorney which has nothing to do with me. So In one month it will be 5 years and I'm still stuck.

It felt like going in circles and talking about the same thing over and over each time with these people for months. I was mislead and uninformed by the four different people who were reassigned my case. Leading to me having to pay the entire bill and my ex not being responsible for any of it. The response time on communication was sporadic. Each time my case was reassigned without my request I was billed for having to reexplain everything, starting from square one each time. I was even billed for a phone call from my ex that I didn't authorize. They will drag your case out for way longer than it should take and make excuses as to why but it's just to get more money from you.
