Does not return calls and will rely on other attorneys to do all the work for her. Heavily disappointed that my case closed 5 months ago and still have yet to receive any documents from her for the closure of my case. Regarding parenting/custody case issues: I would not recommend Lisa to anyone who hopes to come to a mutual agreement during mediation. First of all, she showed up 30 minutes late for the appointment and didn't even offer an apology. Secondly, as the wife to one of the interested parties, I was excluded from mediation as she said "I don't allow third parties in the room." To which I responded, "oh. I wish I would have been made aware of that so that I did not take half a day off from work. Neither your website nor the letter that you sent out to all three of us stated that." She very rudely and sarcastically shrugged her shoulders at me and said "sorry." I did not find that to be very professional. Also, after the mediation and speaking with my husband, it seems as though Lisa does not understand Colorado school districts, their requirements as well as how to read and interpret teacher effectiveness and growth. This is critical because the mediation was to determine which school and district the child would attend. During the time that I was waiting, I spoke with two previous clients who described Lisa as "very mother-friendly regardless of the best interest of the children." They also mentioned other dislikes such as financial gain but that was not a concern of mine as it did not pertain to my situation.

I highly recommend Lisa. I also am an attorney and have had numerous cases with Lisa on the opposite side. Lisa focuses on the issues and knows which fights to pick. She protects her clients' interests while working toward a settlement that is beneficial to all. Family law is never about who wins, but is about how the case can be resolved so that the parties can move forward with their lives. When Lisa is on a case against me, I know that it will not be an ugly fight, but a continued discussion of what is best for all involved. Lisa is one of the few attorneys who is able to have a real talk with her clients and tell them exactly what to expect, even if they don't want to hear it. I have also used her mediation services and have been more than happy with her work. She ensures that only the parties are the ones to attend/participate in mediation, and she challenges them to consider alternative views and options. If I needed to hire an attorney, I would not hesitate to hire Lisa.

Hello I tried getting a hold of Lisa when I had to do a mediation I called & left messages & nothing. No response from her then I found out she is a lawyer but that didn't give her the right to ignore me. She could of called or sent an email saying she wasn't a mediator & that she couldn't help.

I had a wonderful experience at this law firm. Brandi handled my case. She went over and above all of my expectations. She was by my side every step of the way and brought our family back together again. The work she does is invaluable and priceless. She did a great job at keeping track of all the pertinent information and organizing all of the new and changing information, as it became available. She was able to put my case together in a very clear and concise manor that made sense to us, the opposing counsel, and the judge. My mother in law hired Attorney Elder to represent her in a estate case. We live out of state but the process with Attorney Elder made it easier for us. She maintained communication with us and if we had a question could email her. Her response was usually within that same day if not the next day. She really made us feel comfortable with the entire process. She is an extremely knowledgeable Attorney. I highly recommend her for any estate cases in Greeley, Colorado and surrounding areas. Her office secretaries were also extremely nice and professional.

I cannot recommend Tom Cossitt and his team enough. He prioritized the safety of myself and my daughter and made himself available 24/7. At our hearing, the judge said that we had the best relocation presentation he had ever seen and we were able to relocate! Tom was aggressive and confident in court and definitely knew his stuff.

The best thing that happened to me when I was using this law firm was when they fired me as a client. The mistakes this place makes are unbelievable. Wrong names of my kids, not holding a deadline, not holding the opposing party accountable, legal knowledge all very sub standard IMPO. Run from this law firm. All they will do is suck up your money and do very little for it.

The Cossitt law firm saved my children and myself. Not only was I only partially employed (as I was a stay at home mom), I was going through a contentious divorce that was getting more complicated by the day. After switching to this firm, Tom Cossitt became our champion. My children are safe now. They are happy now. Tom is the hardest working attorney I’ve ever met. He actually cares about his clients, I’ve sent him three other friends now and they all have had the same success. Divorce sucks. Tom helped it to suck less. Tom cared about the details, our family, and what was most important for my children. If you’re reading this while shopping around, just talk to him on the phone because it’s the best advice you’ll find. Tom is the hero that you need to fight for you right now.

My soon to be ex partner called this office to arrange for an amicable separation and was given a slew of misinformation regarding the divorce process. He was told absolutely absurd lies about policies and division of property designed to incite ill feelings that would lead to him hiring them as divorce attorneys rather than having them file simple paperwork for dissolution without litigation. Luckily, we spoke to two other law offices that set the record straight and have continued with our very straightforward and amicable separation despite all attempts of this office to derail and inflame it. This is an absolutely disgusting display of parasitic and predatory behavior against people in pain with emotions and frustrations running high.

Mitch Tacy Family Law is excellent! Mitch was quick and thorough. They handled my mediation quickly and went above and beyond to ensure the process went smoothly as possible. Mitch Tacy is a great lawyer, and an adept person to have on your side, should you have to navigate a divorce. Stephen Vertucci was the second lawyer I had to hire in my divorce, and I’m very grateful to have found him. Stephen is knowledgeable of Colorado divorce law and how they play out in the court room, and he has great interpersonal skills. He stepped into a situation with me that was not the norm, and he helped me find the best path forward to a resolution that did not leave me feeling like I would be continually stuck in the past. Although I didn’t like everything he had to tell me, I knew he was telling me the truth and providing the best guidance available. I cannot rave enough about Randy and Meghan. I was put in a difficult situation from my previous attorney, that lead me to seek new counsel. It turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Would strongly discourage retaining Mr. Schufflebarger. My experience evidence Tim as a professional who is both ill and formed and neglectful. He misguided me in accepting a legal agreemen, which resulted in irreparable professional damage. For several months, he dodged my attempts to contact him and, when contact was finally made and he was asked to rectify the situation, he replied that he did not handle such matters. Liability attorneys may be reluctant to file suit against him, citing that he does not carry professional liability insurance. I would offer strong caution to anyone seeking guidance or representation with important legal matters about using Mr Shufflebarger. My professional life is irreconcilable due, in part, to Mr Shufflebarger.

He took my money and ran. He literally has not responded to me since December. I wrote him a large check to get the ball rolling yet he has done nothing..I have reached out to ask for a refund and still have not received a call or email or my money back. He sounded great on paper but could not get the job done for me and refuses to even answer me. I'm very disappointed hope it stops with me.

Jeremy has been my attorney for over 7 years now, dealing with my cases ranging from Family, divorce, custody, relocation and more. Each and every case has come out in my favor, he updates me regularly and is 100% honest in every situation. In the past I have worked with Lawyers that will tell you what you want to hear and fight a battle they know you can'twin, but do it anyway just to bill you. I was currently working with another law office that was taking forever on every item of a new parenting plan, except when it came to billing me. Was referred to SLC and worked with Ms. Clark. She was professional, very knowledgeable, and quick to get my case going again. She gave me actual advise (imagine that!) and realistic expectations, rather than just working on drawing the case out. I ended up with a fair resolution and a much better understanding of what my rights were as a parent than previous law firms.
