My story is quite simple but serves as a cautionary tale for all single parents going through legal difficulties within the family law system. Five years ago, I was advised to seek mediation services as I was going through divorce proceedings. The advice I received was to be a 'nice guy', work with the other parent in order to resolve issues, create a mutually fair court order and seek child development services from third parties. But, after going down that road for many years and realizing that my father's rights were being trampled upon and outright ignored, I finally had enough and decided to seek the services of Michael Nathans. My results may be an outlier, but within 8 weeks, we had a court date, documents prepared, forms filed and everything finalized. I was able to obtain 50-50 custody of my son along with resolving many issues that had previously been ignored. We now had a signed court order that was fair and I attribute this amazing outcome solely to Michael's hard work, diligence, tremendous speed and work ethic. After availing myself of his services, I realized that I had made a mistake previously (with the other mediator). My son and I wasted many years of our lives trying to seek a fair outcome. Michael proved to be a STRONG advocate for me and fought hard for my rights. Michael is no doubt an exceptionally brilliant and highly skilled lawyer that I have came across. The way he leads the case in the court is truly impressive. His strategy on each aspect of the case is crystal clear and his execution plan focuses on meeting all the client needs. He doesn’t leave any minute details and bring up solid arguments throughout the trial to prove his point. I do like his strategy of bringing up out of the box ideas and thinking beyond the case to find out more information which we never thought of before. He has been very much involved with us and set the right focus for us that helped us to do better prepare for the case. I don’t have any doubt that if we did not have Michael’s support we would have been very unlucky. He opened totally new dimensions for us in a marriage annulment case that he fought for us. He led the case very strongly from the beginning in an efficient, strategic and calculated manner. Karen Brown is by far the best family law attorney I have ever worked with!! I was working with a couple of attorneys from San Diego that completely ruined my current family custody case. My previous attorneys took advantage of my situation and didn't do anything in my best interest and against by wishes. I wish divorce on nobody. It is about one of the ugliest things one can experience; but, of course, it is also one of life's unfortunate realities. Because of its inflammatory nature, who you have in your corner fighting for you is crucial. I had an unusual case in that I was already divorced (foolishly I was unrepresented in the initial proceedings) but my ex-wife was planning on relocating with my children to a different city (without my consent). Because I had no representation the first time around, I got completely squeezed financially with a support schedule I couldn't handle, and I needed it reduced legally. I interviewed three other divorce attorneys before a friend recommended Beverly Hills family law specialist Karen Brown. Every attorney I spoke with told me that I had a case, but Karen got the ball rolling immediately. She demonstrated her expertise in the area of family law, and I could tell that she was tough, and that's what I wanted, as I was dealing with some irresponsibly ruthless people and needed somebody strong by my side. Karen was definitely that. She was tough on me too, which was good because she prepared me for the difficult questions I would surely face in court (and which I did). Karen was thorough and always open for communication. Although it wasn't cheap (I only bring this up so you don't fool yourself in believing there will be an inexpensive way out, as some family law attorneys will lead you to believe. It just isn't so), she was mindful of my financial situation and allowed me to take care of anything I could that would keep costs down. When it became apparent that the other side was not willing to negotiate on any issue, Karen was an excellent strategist, making moves that ultimately secured our argument--I could not have asked for more. Come game day, Karen was prepared and solid in the courtroom, and everything turned out alright. Although I was unsuccessful at stopping the relocation, I received a great custody schedule--fair with time made up during summer for that which I'd lose as a result of the move away--my support obligation was lowered to a more reasonable schedule, and most importantly my ex-wife learned that she couldn't just arbitrarily and unilaterally make decisions regarding the children without a strong response from Karen's office, which ultimately has kept her in check. Again I say I wouldn't wish divorce on anyone, but if it is unavoidable, you need a strong professional in your corner, someone who understands family law comprehensively and who will be there for you during tough times, and not just dump you off on an inexperienced associate. I cannot recommend Los Angeles divorce attorney Karen Brown highly enough. For one of the most important decisions you may ever make--hire Karen Brown: you will not be disappointed.

Prior to hiring Karen, I had 5 attorneys, and $100,000 later. Two of these unethical attorneys betrayed me and worked with my ex's attorneys. The other 3 were useless and were intimidated by ex's attorneys. My ex came from lots of family money and very legally savvy and played the divorce court game extremely well. She hired two and three attorneys at a time, and they lied and coerced, and pressured me to agree to their demands. When Karen came on the scene, things changed for me and my children. She believed me and in me, and in the truth, and never gave an inch to the requests of my ex's attorneys. She stood strong and in the end the judge saw the true picture. I now enjoy great times with my two daughters, the two most important people in my life. Thanks to Karen's ethical standards, and care for the truth, and what is good for the children my life looks far brighter than it did when I had the worst representation with the previous 5 attorneys. I've used Richard for multiple judgment collection matters for my clients. He is very reasonable with his rates, works quickly, efficiently, and effectively, and always communicates promptly. Mrs Beyers is the rarity in Family Law. She does not over reach and tells the truth about a massively broken system. She puts children first, and tries to get both sides to get to their separate futures. My divorce was a worst case scenario, and Mrs Beyers was brought in on limited scope to salvage what was gross misconduct by all against her client. She guided me (the father) to the places i need to be and is retained for support matters. As it only takes one to make a nasty divorce and my ex is that one.

According to my experience with them so far I have felt like I am the one who was trying to defense my own right. They gave you a hope to think that you may have a chance to win the case from the consultation but he gave our case to his assistant and his assistant told us to save the lawyer fee because the other party doesn't have a job and money if so they can tell us from the beginning during the consultation. The only thing I can say is good luck if you hire them.

I retained Castellanos & Associates in 2013. I was married for over 24 years. I had thought the case would be simple as we did not have any minor children. My husband had a good job and a pension. However, I was wrong. The case became very toxic. My ex hired a lawyer and wanted to fight about everything we owned, including not wanting to pay support. At one point, he told me that he wanted to leave me with nothing. Thank god for attorney Edwin Castellanos and his staff. They fought for me and made sure I received everything I was legally entitled to. My case lasted five years because my Husband would not settle and wanted to litigate everything. Mr. Castellanos has a very busy practice and is often in Court, but he explained that to me when I first hired him. I could have gone with another lawyer, but Mr. Castellanos was very patient with me and explained the entire process to me. I never felt that he had something else to do when he was with me. Even though my husband hired a very aggressive lawyer to intimidate me. I would say his lawyer was a loudmouth. Mr. Castellano's knowledge of family law won over the Judge. I found out through this case that it's not who is louder but smarter. I won my case because of the excellent work and preparation of Castellanos & Associates. Since my case ended, I have referred Edwin Castellanos to various friends and family, and I heard that they had received the same level of representation that I got. I wanted to write this review because I want other people going through the same thing I went through to get the best possible legal representation I got. The whole journey I had for getting a permanent residency in US was been a roller coaster but through the help of Atty. Horrible service. Felt like he was on my husbands side the whole time. Wasted $5000 on nothing. I had to keep calling to see what was happening with my case. Could not confine in him. Charged me for ridiculous work, calls and emails. I ended up going back with my husband and stopped the divorce/case. I suggest a real lawyer. My husbands, Gille Kaye Law Group, PC . Pasadena CA. Great people nice and actually wanna do the work and help. They even gave back my husband his half deposit back $2,700. Unlike these people rip off, there only in it for the money.

We had multiple cases to face while Michael was representing me, and we literally won all of them. He maintained good communication an always worked with me when it came to money. Not once did he stress me about paying him etc. He fought for my daughter and I, and I could not thank him enough. When I first retained Michael as my attorney I was in a really tough spot and needed some legal help on an extremely tight timeline. He was able to make time for me right away and I was in his office preparing paperwork and within a couple hours of contacting him. He continued to work on my case well into the evening to make sure that everything was done correctly and ready to be filed with the court in the morning. He walked me through the process step by step and made sure I understood and was comfortable with each decision. He has continued to provide this level of service for almost 2 years now as my case continues to progress. He promptly responds to any emails or calls and is very good about checking in with me from time to time to make sure I don’t have any questions or need anything. From his work it is obvious the amount of care and attention he puts into everything he does. I have been impressed with his skills when arguing in court, his writing skills, and his overall ability to see the big picture of a case and formulate a long term strategy that best serves me. He spent several long days in the courtroom with me on my case and having him arguing my side made me feel comfortable and certain that I was going to get the best possible result.
