I hired Michael to put together a will and trust several years ago. He assured me his fees to do the work would cover any changes in the future. He specifically mentioned that a change in marital status would be covered. The reason I give him a low rating is that he did not keep his promise. Several years later after getting married, he wanted to charge me full price to modify my will and trust. While I’m unsure if this is industry standard, it is irrelevant as he baited me with the promise of a comprehensive package. He specifically explained that the initial fee was high because it was a one time, lifetime fee. The last thing I want when hiring an estate attorney is to be taken advantage of after I’m essentially “locked in”. I spoke directly to Mr Meurer about this and he said he’d “cut me a deal” for the misunderstanding - which after comparing to other attorneys was more than double what they charged. Very frustrating. Stay away from this operation!

If you want your loved ones to recieve the things you wanted them to have i would try another attourney. I am still trying to get the things my mother left me in her will five months after her death. I have called the Ms. Gromley several times and have not recieved a call back. I had to pursue other avenues to try and get my inhierited items from my brother and so far all i can do is civil courts which are backed up two years or more. So basically i cant get the things my mom wanted me to have because my greedy brother wont give them up and Jenifer Gromley doesnt care if my moms last wishes were carried out even though thats why my mom paid her. I have worked professionally and personally with Karen and her staff for over 15 years and I can not say enough good things about all of them. Karen's approach is very rare in the legal profession, in that she truly explores a client's goals, objectives and needs when designing a plan. She then creates a completely customized estate plan, rather than simply changing names and dates in a boiler-plate document - as most attorneys I've encountered tend to do. Further than this, though, Karen and her excellent staff do not stop at the customized documents. An estate plan is absolutely worth nothing more than the paper it is printed on if it is not properly funded and maintained. They work tirelessly to identify and properly title all estate assets so that they will be included in the client's wishes at time of incapacity or death.
