This law firm, where do I start. This law firm took my automobile mobile accident case from 2019. The previous law firm dropped my case because they said wasn't worth enough to go to mediation. When I was in an accident with my daughter, I knew that I did not want to go with one of the lawyers that have the snappy jingles on the radio or the numerous commercials on T.V. My wife's parents had used them before; so when I had an accident while being a passenger in a Lyft vehicle a few years ago I retained their services. I was quite satisfied with how they handled it so it it is no surprise that I used them again last September when I was rear ended in a traffic accident. I'm not a vengeful type so I just wanted a replacement vehicle and get my numerous herniated disks "fixed". R. Michael Coker met me in the lobby I was pleased that he had asked about me about my previous accident and her parents' accident (sure he did some looking back on my past but it's the little things that impress me). We had a very detailed discussion about the case and what to expect, what not to expect. He was accurate on the past accident so I was quite at ease this time around. At the conclusion of the previous accident I of course, expected some hassle from them about the case or payment ( I had never needed a lawyer before so...) but true to his word everything worked out very well which is why I used them again. The insurance from the other driver was helpful but isn't great ( thanks GA laws!). Anyways let's wrap this up. I expected nothing at the settlement but I was stunned! They negotiated with everyone and got me more than I thought possible (thank you Magen!) . I thought that they must've been paying out of their own pocket! Yeah, the settlement was very satisfactory to say the least but it's not the destination but the journey that matters. The journey was stress free with someone else driving (sorry, but a bad pun is required here...). Okay, a side note here. There are two employees there that surpassed my expectations. The first one was Bridget, my main contact. I knew if I had a question by text, email, phone that I could get a quick and informative answer. If I didn't understand something I certainly did afterwards (that is meant to be a good thing BTW). So very helpful...always. The next one was Magen! Take every positive adjective, double it, triple it and you have Magen. She is their negotiator. I couldn't thank her enough! I seriously couldn't.(If she decides to write a book on negotiations I'll be first in line to get several copies - makes a great present for any occasion!). I would love to have her on speed dial. I'd have her negotiate EVERYTHING for me from the price of a Starbuck's coffee to the purchase of a small country. If she negotiated it I'm certain her salary is much more than her employers make. Ok where do I start, I have not spoken to my supposed “attorney” Attorney Grant since February 2020 when I first went to his office for the initial consultation and to sign the paperwork for him and Georgia Trial Attorneys to represent me(bad start). My only communication was from Ariana Menij or Gabby which they updated me through email as the case progressed during the pandemic but not much was happening. They communicated back and forth “they” meaning Ariana in regards to depositions that got cancelled multiple times. Now fast forward to May 14 2021 I receive a call from Ariana that a settlement was reached and she needed to record my answer and sign my settlement release via email. I signed the document then 7 days later a notice from nationwide the opposing insurance company came in the mail informing me that they released the check to my attorney offices. No one from Georgia Trial Attorney called me to tell me they received the check I had to call and ask myself. Then the conversation was vague with Ariana like she didn’t want to tell me they had my money. Then she proceeds to tell me they are still working on reductions…it’s a month later now you have my settlement check which I still don’t have. I have left several messages with the answering service I’m assuming that is and I was told I could pick up my check today once Attorney Grant sends me the breakdown but still no response from him via phone or email in over a year and half. This is ridiculous; my financial situation since my accident in July 2019 then losing my job in March 2020 had been really hard but my own attorney who is suppose to have my best interest are withholding my money. I am beyond upset and the communication between the legal assistance and attorneys are horrible!!!
