words can't express how poorly I was treated. the receptionist Jerry, told me these lawyers only accept specific cases after being reviewed - I get it, they have limited manpower. when I tried to explain the entire situation, which would have improved my chances of my case being accepted, Jerry continuously interrupted me, preventing me from explaining the severity of the incident. Jerry told me that this "extra" information can be told to the lawyers if they pick my case. But without this "extra" information, my case may not be as strong hence, possibly being passed up. potential clients don't care that you have to stick to a specific set of questions. we come to you for guidance and we don't know what is or isn't pertinent information. It wouldn't kill you to have listened. your lack of compassion of empathy speaks volumes about the company.

I go hurt a hand injury at the factory, I had worked there for 5 years and had to miss work for over a month and the company said it it was my fault, I had to get lawyer. After 2 1/2 years, this firm finally settled my personal injury suit. A partner was my initial attorney and he didn’t know how to “monetize my case” (his words). It seemed he wanted me to do the work for him. Once he was let go or quit the firm, I was placed with two new attorneys. They finally got my case settled for $50,000. Good news? Nope! They decided to take it upon themselves to contact my bankruptcy trustee to inform them of the settlement even tho I supplied them with my discharge papers and my bankruptcy attorney had told them that there was no legal basis to do so since the bankruptcy was fully discharged. They ignored me, as their client, and my bankruptcy attorney and did what they wanted to do regardless. Of the $50,000, this firm took $20,000 (40%) off the top. They also didn’t pay all the medical bills from the settlement, leaving me with a bill just short of $1000 to pay out of my share. After it was all said and done, they cost me an additional $13,000 for no reason other than their incompetence. I was left with $15,000 of a $50,000 (30%)settlement that took over two years to complete. This firm is not reputable and does not have your best interest in mind. I would highly suggest you find a different firm. Thank me later!

I have used lawyer Frank Bertuca of the Law firm Katz, Friedman, Eisenstein, Johnson, Bareck, Bertuca 3 times over the last 15 years. Personally I don’t know a lot when it comes to legal matters. I had the pleasure of attending a national conference where Bob Hanaford was teaching other lawyers how to fight DUI cases. Having been a lawyer for over 20 years, I didn't think I would learn much, until I watched Bob. He was amazing. Bob taught us that we can know more than the police and outwit them at their own game. My wife had an accident awhile ago and Stone & Maya was referred to us and worked on trying to resolve the case with the insurance company. The firm kept us abreast throughout the process and explained the process and fee structure thoroughly from the start. As we waited some time as can happen in cases like this when it finally came time to provide a resolution to the case. I was contacted by one of the partners Larry Maya. He was very professional explained every aspect of the settlement details, gave his professional opinion on what options we had and also what he felt was in our best interest and course of action in resolving the case. He even explained in simple English terminology that was confusing and even how and why it applied according to IL law. The entire firms responsiveness was impeccable, meaning that within minutes if not a couple hours I was hearing a response back to any questions or responses back to my documentation sent. I believe they crossed T's and dotted I's to make sure that the final settlement was accurate and that there would be no surprises.
