Shuman Legal is one of the only law firms that care about their clients not just a money number but actual injured human beings. The entire staff, from the people that answer the phones to the guy that sweeps up at night will be there for you as a team. I had many choices for an attorney but it was a no brainer hiring Marc Shuman. He really cares about me!! He has called me on the weekends just to see how I'm doing. Who does that? Someone who genuinely cares about his clients well-being. If you are looking for a great attorney with a great staff that makes everything you are going through easier. Some of these goofy commercials on TV are atrocious and these people only care about getting the check at the end and nothing in between. Like most cases, there was a wait and mine settled In a little over one year, but they kept me updated on everything I had to know. Plus there are plenty of Bilingual reps! WHICH WAS A LIE, If they hear about a car accident they go digging for clients number. •They will rush you to physical therapy of at a place of their choice ONLY because they’re good friends with the chiropractor who they do under the table business with to get money. •They will lie to you about how much you will be getting paid! They will drag your case on to the point you’ll be obtaining your own information calling around hospitals and billing for months-years. •When you call to ask about a update they will claim the hospitals haven’t sent anything over and they are still waiting when really they haven’t even sent anything to the hospital.... This is by far the worst law firm in Chicago! If you get in a car accident DO NOT ANSWER THEM. Its been 3 months since my accident. And almost 2 months since my "physical therapy" ended and im yet to hear any update on my case. I have called all of their numbers available and no answer. The receptionist answered once and pretended like she couldn't hear me and hung up! That is definitely NOT PROFESSIONAL!!! After that the line rang and rang and rang and finally one of the operators answered just to put me on a callback list. I don't doubt after this they'll throw my case out! Let's see if this gets their attention atleast. They're just scammers. I JUST WANT A FREAKING UPDATE!!! DONT GO TO THEM!!

This people are by far the worst ever. They are ambulance chasers. What that means is they find clients through police reports and are so unprofessional. This was my first time contacting a lawyer. I appreciate that Andy took time for an initial (free) consultation to understand my situation and explained both the benefits and risks to me, including potential outcomes. He made me feel at ease by disclosing his fees were contingent based on a small portion of any recovered money (which was one of my concerns from the get-go). He is very knowledgeable with the Residential Landlord and Tenant Ordinance (RLTO) by asking relevant questions to formulate a detailed plan. Whenever I had a question or wanted to think about the next steps, Andy promptly responded to me. He empowered during a difficult time where I had thought the outcome was hopeless. I had the pleasure of attending a national conference where Bob Hanaford was teaching other lawyers how to fight DUI cases. The attorneys at BBG were exceptional. I was skeptical at first but I came to know that in Illinois, workers comp cases are difficult, long, and frustrating. I was helping my cousin watch over the details of the case after he had a serious injury at work. Paul, Gavin and Richard really cared, stayed with the case and never gave up. After 2 1/2 years, this firm finally settled my personal injury suit. A partner was my initial attorney and he didn’t know how to “monetize my case” (his words). It seemed he wanted me to do the work for him. Once he was let go or quit the firm, I was placed with two new attorneys. They finally got my case settled for $50,000. Good news? Nope! They decided to take it upon themselves to contact my bankruptcy trustee to inform them of the settlement even tho I supplied them with my discharge papers and my bankruptcy attorney had told them that there was no legal basis to do so since the bankruptcy was fully discharged. They ignored me, as their client, and my bankruptcy attorney and did what they wanted to do regardless. Of the $50,000, this firm took $20,000 (40%) off the top. They also didn’t pay all the medical bills from the settlement, leaving me with a bill just short of $1000 to pay out of my share. After it was all said and done, they cost me an additional $13,000 for no reason other than their incompetence. I was left with $15,000 of a $50,000 (30%)settlement that took over two years to complete. This firm is not reputable and does not have your best interest in mind. I would highly suggest you find a different firm. Thank me later!

Every time I would call to get information for my uncles case, no one would call back. I’ve left Donna’s assistant Veronica numerous voicemails & never got a call back. Definitely recommend you looking for another attorney, unless you don’t want a call back, then I suggest you stay here and get ignored. They do call you when you they want to take your case after you sign up with them it’s like you don’t matter. Best thing my uncle did was get another attorney.

In 2018 I was involved in an accident. The other driver blew through a stop sign and totaled my car. The police on scene found out that he drove on a suspended license and was under the influence. He was arrested on the spot. I am a State Farm customer for many years, and I have to say they treated me absolutely poorly. My car was old, so I had no full coverage and therefore they didn't want to pay anything. Even when I pointed out that the police determined that the other driver was at fault, State Farm refused to pay the 5000 Dollars for my totaled car. The State Farm agent told me that the police was not there when it happened so how can they determine that it was the other driver's fault. I would say the police is never there when a crime happens, that's why they investigate. Luckily, I found Staver Lawyers and they took on my case. Crystal was just wonderful, she helped me with everything. Whenever I called, she knew who I was and remembered my case right away. Paul, my actual lawyer, took State Farm to court and won over 60,000 Dollars from them. I highly recommend Staver Lawyers, they are really there for you.
