Shuman Legal is one of the only law firms that care about their clients not just a money number but actual injured human beings. The entire staff, from the people that answer the phones to the guy that sweeps up at night will be there for you as a team. I had many choices for an attorney but it was a no brainer hiring Marc Shuman. He really cares about me!! He has called me on the weekends just to see how I'm doing. Who does that? Someone who genuinely cares about his clients well-being. If you are looking for a great attorney with a great staff that makes everything you are going through easier. Some of these goofy commercials on TV are atrocious and these people only care about getting the check at the end and nothing in between. It didn’t take much work from my end because they handled everything effectively. Like most cases, there was a wait and mine settled In a little over one year, but they kept me updated on everything I had to know. Plus there are plenty of Bilingual reps! I received my check in the mail despite moving out of state.

This was my first time contacting a lawyer. I appreciate that Andy took time for an initial (free) consultation to understand my situation and explained both the benefits and risks to me, including potential outcomes. He made me feel at ease by disclosing his fees were contingent based on a small portion of any recovered money (which was one of my concerns from the get-go). He is very knowledgeable with the Residential Landlord and Tenant Ordinance (RLTO) by asking relevant questions to formulate a detailed plan. I was recently in a car accident and fractured my right wrist, I am a dance teacher so needless to say this was very hard trying to to recover and work with a fractured wrist. I have never been through anything like this before and was not sure how this whole process worked. I was so overwhelmed. My wife had an accident awhile ago and Stone & Maya was referred to us and worked on trying to resolve the case with the insurance company. The firm kept us abreast throughout the process and explained the process and fee structure thoroughly from the start. As we waited some time as can happen in cases like this when it finally came time to provide a resolution to the case. I was contacted by one of the partners Larry Maya. He was very professional explained every aspect of the settlement details, gave his professional opinion on what options we had and also what he felt was in our best interest and course of action in resolving the case. He even explained in simple English terminology that was confusing and even how and why it applied according to IL law. The entire firms responsiveness was impeccable, meaning that within minutes if not a couple hours I was hearing a response back to any questions or responses back to my documentation sent. I believe they crossed T's and dotted I's to make sure that the final settlement was accurate and that there would be no surprises.
