I am the mother of the defendant she is representing. She speaks very rudely to me like I do not matter. First time I spoke to her on the phone she was rude, rushed through all information she was giving to me like I was a “bother” in her day. My brother in law (different ethnic group) seemed to have a different “better” experience. Perhaps cause he is the one paying her is what I’m left to assume. Regardless of Nixon’s busy schedule there is no need to be rude and abrupt when dealing with family members of a certain ethnicity. She may be a good attorney from what I have heard but she clearly is not a good people person with tact and good communication skills outside the courtroom. For that I personally would never use her to represent me nor would I recommend her. Note: her tone was so rude and unprofessional in my opinion I had to walk out of the room today so I would not be reprimanded by the sheriff in the other room

I was advised to obtain a Workman's Comp attorney, so I started looking. When I saw Mr. Roane's commercial on tv, I felt this was the right choice. I was right! Our family was NOT satisfied with Roane Law experience after a car accident. We are using our personal experience to advocate for other accident victims. We had to take over the case in order to get her the best settlement. Our We had to constantly follow-up and learned so much that we hope helps other accident victims. Use the North Carolina Insurance Commission for assistance - they are a great resource. Most importantly do your research before hiring an accident attorney. You can negotiate the attorney contingency fee (you don't have to pay 33%). You can work directly with an insurance company. Ask for a claims manager if you don’t feel like adjustor is offering a fair settlement. Research and understand diminished value on your vehicle. You can negotiate this directly with the insurance company for this loss. If you have Medicare, make sure that you understand Medicare Reimbursement and how it will affect the amount you receive from the accident settlement. You can work directly with your Medicare plan and/or other medical offices to reduce the reimbursement amount for medical costs associated with your accident. You most likely pay for underinsured or uninsured motorist coverage on your own auto policy - contact your insurance company directly for assistance with this if the driver who caused your accident does not have enough coverage. You also most likely have Medical Payment Reimbursement on your policy - usually up to $2000 in coverage that you can request directly from your insurance company to cover medical bills. Most importantly, don’t sign any documents with an attorney until you fully understand what you your potential settlement will be after attorney fees and medical expense BEFORE you sign any agreements with an attorney.

I recently ran into Amber in the grocery store and noticed she was wearing a mask with Oxner + Permar on it. I asked if it was a Law Firm and asked what type of cases they handled. She let me know it was WC and PI and I proceeded to ask her questions about a recent accident I was involved in. She answered all of my questions and gave me her card with contact information. I told her I was unsure as to whether or not I wanted to hire an Attorney but if I decided to, I would definitely call the office she worked for. She provided her cellphone number if I had anymore questions. I reached out to her via text and let her know how much I appreciated the information. I was impressed with her knowledge and the fact that she stepped out of line to speak with me impressed me even more. My husband had been filing on his own to get VA benefits for years; I mean like 20 plus years. Others members of his local American Legion kept encouraging to keep filing with the help of his local VA rep. It continued to be a dead in road, he kept getting denied. Finally he saw the commercial about Deuterman Law on TV and decided to call them. I must say, one of the BEST decisions he had ever made. JD was not responsive or helpful at all! This was my family's first time experience with conflict with the law and had looked to JD for guidance and help with my brother's case. We paid the upfront fee of $1,500 as requested by his office but he did not even show up for my brother bill bond hearing...in fact he did not show up at all for anything. He did not even bother to call reach out to my brother to inquire about the case. In the end, we had to figure out the court system ourselves, reach out to the detective ourselves and eventually gave up after many attempts to reach JD over a span of a couple of months and got a different lawyer. JD was a waste of money and time with added stress!

Better use a Public Defender, it's cheaper! My mom paid $7500 for my dad to go to prison. JD had her doing her own footwork then he said he didn't present the case because Judge Burke's body language suggested that "he didn't want to hear it" WTH? Then instead of going to the jail to explain his out come (8-11 years) He took off with his family to the beach.... SMH!! She should have known that all the confederate decor that he wasn't for OUR kind. Had to give a star to say all this... you deserve a 0

We appreciate all Daggett Shuler has done for us in navigating personal injury and workers comp claims. We were able to concentrate on recovering and trying to get back to a normal life, while they handled the interaction with insurance, attorneys, etc. I am thankful we did not try to handle this ourselves. I know the outcome would have been much different, and the time investment and stress would have been unmanageable for us. When something first happens, it may appear that it is not a big deal, but as you get into identifying injuries, treatment and lost work, etc., you quickly find that you need someone with expertise to represent your interests.

If I could go out and shout that there are still good, kind people left in this world that is what I would do, because that is the experience I had at this law firm. Total support throughout the whole process, I was filing for disability, a process that should have taken at least a year or two, took 3 months and I was approved. When all was said and done, the law firm charged me absolutely next to nothing for their services, God blessed me by putting these people in my path. As I was searching for a firm to go with, I prayed for God to help me find the right firm, I read reviews and read a review about Mr. Deuterman paying for one of his clients rent to with his personal checking to keep his client from being evicted from his home and that is when I stopped searching, I knew God had shown me the firm I needed to go with and it was the right choice. I would definitely recommend this group of people to work with, I don't think you could go wrong. Also, a shout out to Ashley Hichley, thank you for your kindness, time and effort, and just making the process painless!
