I only got to meet Mr. Bertz once and he was not able to represent me in court. Instead, he had someone else come with me. I was told to plea guilty (as I could have done by myself and without having to pay so much money). They were all friendly and informative in the office. However, I would have appreciated if they were honest if they didn't think I'd have a chance to win in court. The only real benefit was a 2-month stay on my license before it was suspended and that I had to take a 3-month course rather than a 6-month. Even then, I still would have saved a lot more money just taking a 6-month. In the 3-month class I'm taking, I've heard many people's stories. most people in situations just like mine were dealt the same standard penalties with only the help of a public attorney. I do believe Mr. Bertz is very knowledgeable. Although, not telling me that there wasn't much hope in my case from the beginning and the fact he wasn't able to represent me himself did not feel like he was "treating this case as his own," like he claims.

I was falsely accused of attempted murder on a local university campus. Although a key witness denied seeing any violence imposed on the accuser, and there was no physical evidence of an assault, I was arrested because I'm a "big dude," and the accuser was a "small girl" (actual explanation by campus police). Mr. Matsuk's diligence on my case got my case thrown out by the DA, and I'm now able to pursue a career that requires background checks. I retained Leonard Matsuk to handle a challenging case for my Godson. He had been convicted in the past when he was 18 y/o and was advised to plead no contest by his then public defender. The public defender met with my Godson for all of a few minutes as they were preparing to appear before the judge. This misdemeanor conviction had some serious immigration liabilities for my Godson. The only way to remove this conviction was to put a motion before the Judge to get the original conviction overturned or dismissed by the court. Leonard explained that there would be several roadblocks to overcome in a case like this. Generally, prosecutors and Judges do not like to go back and dismiss a conviction. So knowing it would be a challenge I believed Leonard would do his best. And he did, with Leonard’s legal knowledge and strategy along with all the good and positive contributions documented about my Godson giving back to our community. The motion was put together by Leonard. In the end, Leonard presented the motion to dismiss to the Lead Prosecutor and they did not block it. I was in the court last week when Leonard Matsuk addressed the motion before the judge, he answered the judge’s questions. The prosecutor advised the judge they were not blocking the motion. And the court room challenge was over, the judge overturned or vacated the original conviction thanks to Leonard Matsuk and his legal skills and knowledge. So here is my perspective on this case, and of Leonard’s work. Leonard was honest and upfront from the beginning about this case. He explained to us the challenges involved and the slim possibility of success with this matter. However always pleasant and in a down to earth manner, Leonard answered our concerns, he was available by phone and email. So I extend my gratitude to Leonard Matsuk for a job well done. My wife was ticketed by a police sting on grubhub drivers delivering alcohol. This was a misdemeanor charge. They used a dummy minor (17 years old, but he looked like he was in his 20's. Many years ago Mr. Hill helped me with a legal matter that I was dealing with. I did not understand all that was going on, and I must admit that it was hard for me to let go of the control I had held on to so tightly. and trust someone else with my life. She’s the best lawyer I know, and this coming from a man who’s been in and out of jails, camps, and to prison. I’ve met many lawyers.Mrs Cini is not one of those lawyers just saying what you want to hear to get paid and done with a case, She is a real-life-person lawyer, meaning she really gets involved in her cases, I was never confused about what was going on in my cases. We hired Ms. Cini to defend our son in legal proceedings. This was a new and somewhat intimidating process. Add a worldwide pandemic to the mix, and we were feeling completely overwhelmed. But under very difficult circumstances (due to the pandemic) of limited access to court proceedings, access to your legal team, and continual delays and postponements, Ms. Cini found a way to get the job done. She made the necessary connections with court officers and the opposing legal team and was able to negotiate a fair and just resolution to a difficult situation. She understood the sensitive situation regarding extended family members and persevered in serving her client (our son) in what we believe was a superior fashion. I couldn’t ask for a better experience in a bad situation. Attorney Maltaise Cini totally went above and beyond to help out my Daughter in her case. She took on her case in the last minute situation. Granted I never needed to Hire an attorney before, but I do think she was very fair With her fee. She also work with us on a payment plan. I remember just being so scared and not sure on what to do. Maltaise Cini didn’t make any promises or guarantees what she did give us was hope. She said she would do everything she could to have the court give her a second chance and try to put my Daughter in the position to earn a dismissal. 5 to 6 months later that’s exactly what happen. Maltaise Cini was more then just an attorney for us, she was like a guardian angel. She was generally concerned for my daughter, always calling and checking up on her. She help my daughter back up on her feet so that she could focus on her future. I know everybody’s situation is different but I’d be definitely calling her back if there is ever any more trouble. My family hired Ms. Cini to to help me with a criminal case that was very intimidating and daunting to try to process from the very beginning..After originally consulting a public defender it seemed that jail time was gonna be mandatory. She was able to not only get one of the charges dropped but avoided any incarceration and was able to make a deal with the DA and the opposing attorney, (which didn’t seem at all possible in the beginning of my case). I couldn’t be happier with the outcome of my case and how much time and effort Ms. Cini put into my defense. It was extremely apparent the whole time she was representing me that she had my best interest in mind , and to be honest even though I know she is busy with many other clients , I felt like I was her only client with how attentive she was to my needs and how timely she was with reaching out to me about important matters to my case and getting back to me if I had any questions at all during the whole process. If I would have continued my case without her I have no doubt I would have received the worse case scenario which would have had a huge negative permanent effect on my life. By far THE BEST all around!! When my young adult son got into trouble twice Randy was there 100 percent. Extremely caring, responsive and supportive. Chris is awesome too. When interviewing attorneys for my son's first case, Randy hands down passed the test. I like the fact he was a former DA because he not only knows the system, but he is able to ensure fairness to both sides, which was important to me.
