BEST DOMESTIC VIOLENCE DEFENSE LAWYER IN SAN DIEGO!!!! I came referred to Mary Francis from another family law lawyer who helped me in my extremely acrimonious divorce case. My ex husband was abusive throughout the relationship. But when it looked like I was going to win sole physical custody, and he was going to have to pay support, I saw a side of him I never could have imagined. He attacked me, then called the police after slamming his own face into the door three times, then accusing me. I was taken away in handcuffs, placed in jail, and when I bailed out, I had to deal with CPS. I felt completely alone and abandoned. Then came Mary to the rescue. Mary worked the case from top to bottom, reviewing all the family court pleadings, having her investigator walk the neighborhood to get stories of my husband's abuse from everyone he could. At the end of the day the case was dismissed. It ultimately took 6 months to get it dismissed, and it cost a fair price for my freedom (especially the investigators, Mary Francis not so much). I had a run in with Sheriff deputies who threw me to the ground and then falsely arrested me, and accused me of being drunk. I'd had one, single beer, with three witnesses. it didn't matter to them. Good for them that they didn't have cameras. So they could say whatever they wanted and there wasn't much I could do about it. But then I was looking for a good San Diego criminal defense attorney, and I was referred to Mary Frances, and she did a lot about it. She was able to get into their personnel files, find the two who slammed me to the ground had other complaints. The prosecutors didn't want to do anything to the deputies except protect them. I am a God loving man, and I expect the law and government to be honest. They were not. None of them were. Mary Frances stuck it out and pushed to the date of trial. She had witness lined up against the cops, my witnesses lined up, and only then and after many months of working hard was Mary able to get the case dismissed. It's a sad day in San Diego when a God fearing, tax paying citizen is treated like a criminal not only by cops, but by the prosecutors. Update: In response to the reply left on my review. I wrote "When I was convicted he left me to question the jury for an hour (to see why they convicted me) with no consideration to me or my emotional state." I was implying that he left me alone so he could question the jury. The fact that the "attorney" claims that I am another attorney trying to make him look bad is laughable and deeply unprofessional. *********** I'll spare you the details of my personal emotions and just give you the facts. I paid $4,500 for Mr. Terry's services after consulting one other attorney. He seemed genuinely on my side and seemed willing to fight for me. This changed after he charged my card. He promised me to speak to me about my case and prepare what he described as a "trial binder". He was aloof and rarely returned phone calls. Occasionally I received a reply via e-mail. I trusted him being as I had never been in trouble before and had no idea what to expect. There was also a witness to my case that contradicted everything in the police report he promised to subpoena. I was even in the room when he called the man and asked if he would be willing to testify. He did not subpoena that witness. He did not speak to me at all before my trial. He did not prepare a trial binder for me. He retained the help of an "expert witness" who was completely unprepared and had no idea the details of my case. An expert witness I paid for and trusted him to recommend. When I was convicted he left me to question the jury for an hour (to see why the convicted me) with no consideration to me or my emotional state. Before I signed a contract, after I signed the contract and after my conviction he verbally told me he would help me end my probation early (providing I paid for my fine by then and remained out of trouble). I called him twice and left messages with his paralegal or receptionist. He didn't return either call. I cannot recommend this man and I highly advise you against retaining his services. He's unreliable and the very definition of what gives lawyers a bad name.

I had a wonderful experience with Mr Ramos. His work got my case rejected which is everything that I was hoping for. He is a direct no nonsense kind of guy. Very professional and made me trust him immediately. Also his paralegal Denise is very professional and responsive. I chose not to retain Mr. Ramos after our brief phone consultation. Although he was informative regarding certain details pertaining to my recent arrest, he told me some things that contradicted what two other ex-district attorneys turned criminal defense lawyers had previously told me on my one on one consultation with them. I’m the type of person that likes to get a feel for a person with more than just a five minute phone call, and I told Mr. Ramos that I’m aware that COVID probably prevents doing a lot of in person meetings, but I asked him if he’d be willing to Skype or FaceTime with me so that I could get a better feel for him so that I can make the best decision in retaining an attorney for my very serious criminal case. He rather rudely told me that he doesn’t Skype unless he’s been retained. From that point on, he seemed annoyed. He’s not a cheap lawyer and he wants all money up front (which is his right) but I feel I have a right to see more than a picture and a phone call before paying over 6k to retain someone. Just rubbed me the wrong way...
