BEST DOMESTIC VIOLENCE DEFENSE LAWYER IN SAN DIEGO!!!! I came referred to Mary Francis from another family law lawyer who helped me in my extremely acrimonious divorce case. My ex husband was abusive throughout the relationship. But when it looked like I was going to win sole physical custody, and he was going to have to pay support, I saw a side of him I never could have imagined. He attacked me, then called the police after slamming his own face into the door three times, then accusing me. I was taken away in handcuffs, placed in jail, and when I bailed out, I had to deal with CPS. I felt completely alone and abandoned. Then came Mary to the rescue. Mary worked the case from top to bottom, reviewing all the family court pleadings, having her investigator walk the neighborhood to get stories of my husband's abuse from everyone he could. At the end of the day the case was dismissed. It ultimately took 6 months to get it dismissed, and it cost a fair price for my freedom (especially the investigators, Mary Francis not so much). But it was worth every penny. I am now safe and secure with my children. Thanks to Mary Francis. She is the best domestic violence defense lawyer in town, I was told, and my referral was right on!

I had a run in with Sheriff deputies who threw me to the ground and then falsely arrested me, and accused me of being drunk. I'd had one, single beer, with three witnesses. it didn't matter to them. Good for them that they didn't have cameras. So they could say whatever they wanted and there wasn't much I could do about it. But then I was looking for a good San Diego criminal defense attorney, and I was referred to Mary Frances, and she did a lot about it. She was able to get into their personnel files, find the two who slammed me to the ground had other complaints. The prosecutors didn't want to do anything to the deputies except protect them. I am a God loving man, and I expect the law and government to be honest. They were not. None of them were. Mary Frances stuck it out and pushed to the date of trial. She had witness lined up against the cops, my witnesses lined up, and only then and after many months of working hard was Mary able to get the case dismissed. It's a sad day in San Diego when a God fearing, tax paying citizen is treated like a criminal not only by cops, but by the prosecutors. I will never look on law enforcement with the same respect I once held. Thank God for Mary Frances and her perseverance.

I can't thank Isaac Blumberg and Darleen R. Newcomb(Legal Assistant) enough. Isaac Blumberg has represented one of my family members in the past and has represented me twice now and has not disappointed. I was convicted of a DUI in 2018. In 2018 I drove while having a suspended license (suspended license due to DUI) Isaac represented me and I received a Misdemeanor, remained on informal probation, and received a fine. On November 23, 2019 I was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol causing injury, prior DUI within 10 years of VC23152 conviction. I was incarcerated November 23, 2019 at Las Colinas Detention and ReentryFacility my bail was at $100,000 I didn't have the money to post bail so I remained incarcerated in hopes that my bail would be lowered or I'd be released on my own recognizance at my first court appearance. That did not end up being the case my bail remained at $100,000 and I was not able to be released on my own recognizance however, Isaac Blumberg filled out some paper work to see if I could be approved to get out of Las Colinas Detention and Reentry Facility on County Parole and Alternative Custody (CPAC) before I was even sentenced. I was approved and was released on December 17, 2020 on CPAC the paperwork took some time to go through due to Thanksgiving otherwise after being approved I would have been out sooner. The ladies I was incarcerated with at Las Colinas Detention and Reentry Facility were shocked to see me be released especially on CPAC before I was even sentenced. I went from being incarcerated to being on CPAC to being on SCRAM everything slowly but surely got better. I did what the judge and Isaac Blumberg had advise me to do since my first court date. I stayed out of trouble, I stayed sober, I did an outpatient program, and etc. before being sentenced. I could not have chosen a better attorney to represent me. I could have been sentenced to 2 years in prison with a Felony or a Felony with 2 years of formal probation. The outcome to this case was that the Felony was brought down to a Misdemeanor today October 8, 2020. Due to COVID-19 cases were pushed back which is why it took this long for me to be sentenced. Isaac Blumberg is VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE! I recommend him to anyone who is looking for a criminal defense attorney to represent them.

There are so many good qualities of having Ed Southcott in your corner. He knows many people in the court houses and definately does his due diligence as an attorney. I was extremely happy with Ed's proffesionalism. He answered the phone when i called, responded to emails promptly and helped every concern I had with my court case. Our 18 year old son was cited a 11357(b) ticket for possession of less than 1 ounce of marijuana and was facing losing his driver's license for 1 year as well as the fine, penalty assessments and court costs. We hired Jessica to represent our son and the outcome was an excellent, superior result! The whole process could not have gone any smoother for us nor the outcome any greater. We can't thank you enough Jessica, we know you had to work hard in order to reach the dismissal of our son's charge. You are a fighter and truly dedicated to your profession. Unsure of the exact course of action we should take, we started looking for a lawyer who specialized in cases like ours and we found Jessica. Jessica was a breath of fresh air in the lawyers we interviewed. She was pleasant, all business, with a no nonsense approach to strategies we could take. We explained our concerns about the impact this citation would have on our son’s future endeavors and she recommended several strategies that we could use to mitigate the most severe results. While the strategy chosen was actually the riskiest and most complex, that path resulted in a dismissal of the charge, no impact to his ability to drive to his job and college, and no impact to his ability to freely apply to any college or for any college funding. Much to my dismay, my husband's foray into the world of medical marijuana resulted in a desperate need for an attorney. I found Jessica McElfresh on the NORML website and, from the first phone call, found her to be direct and knowledgeable. We interviewed several lawyers and I ended up retaining her as my attorney. I am SO thankful that I did. She spent a lot of time on my case, collected her own evidence, managed a very difficult witness, and worked to get a deal that will result in a total dismissal of all the charges. She responded to emails nearly instantaneously - even after hours - and telephone calls in less than an hour. I also felt like she always gave me a fair assessment of how the case was progressing and what I could expect. She answered any question I had, even if it were only peripherally related to the case and researched some other issues I was also concerned about. My husband ended up working with two other attorneys, both of whom had more experience and were more expensive. Unfortunately, those two things did not guarantee a better attorney. In comparison, she was clearly the most knowledgeable about our case and the laws surrounding it, the easiest to contact, the most organized, and a real workhorse. She is confident in her skills and will aggressively fight (which might not be apparent just meeting her one-on-one - have no doubt, she's a fighter). If you find yourself in need of a criminal attorney, I'd say look no further - she turns all those bad lawyer stereotypes on their head!

My son was living in another state when he was charged with first degree murder for a crime that had been committed several years ago here in California. As soon as I found out about the arrest I made arrangements to take a plane out the next afternoon. As soon as I made my plane reservation I went on line to find an attorney to potentially represent my son. I needed someone who specialized in homicide. Our family had no prior experience with the legal system as it pertains to criminal defense. I had no idea what to expect. Being that it was after normal office hours I left messages with two attorneys. Within minutes, attorney, Russell Babcock returned my call. I explained the reason for my call. He set a meeting for the next morning so I could meet with him and still make my flight in the afternoon. At our meeting I explained everything I knew about the case. He told me about himself and his experience as well as explaining the process and the sequence of events that would take place. Mr. Babcock made himself available should I need guidance while I was away. I had several questions during that time and needed help getting a Power of Attorney. Mr. Babcock emailed a Power of Attorney form for the state my son was living in and helped me navigate through the process. Once I returned back home I did extensive research on several attorneys. The charges against my son were serious and had the potential of a life sentence so it was critical that we pick the right person. I enlisted some family members to help me research potential representation. We read everything we could find on several San Diego attorneys who specialized in homicide. I personally interviewed eight attorneys. Ultimately we agreed on Russell Babcock. At the time Mr. Babcock was hired, he gave me a set price to handle the case. He informed me about extra expenses that could potentially come up, depending on how the case progressed. During the course of my son’s case, Mr. Babcock contacted me on a weekly basis, some weeks I heard from him multiple times. Every time there was new information he emailed or called. We met several times initially while he was gathering information and building the case. There was uncharted territory in several aspects of this case which created more of a challenge and significantly more research for Mr. Babcock. He went to the jail many times to visit my son. I can truly say he took a personal interest in my son and in the case. I believe he represented my son the same way he would represent his own family member. Every claim he made in his profile I found to be true. I believe Mr. Babcock went above and beyond what ANY other attorney would have done. The prosecution wanted a first degree murder conviction, consequently they were not open to any kind of a plea bargain. Through weeks and weeks of research, some very impressive Motions and the professionalism and expertise Mr. Babcock presented, the end result was a plea for Manslaughter without Malice. I don’t believe any other attorney would have been able to get the original charge reduced to where it ended up. After going through the last year of the hell our family has gone through, we owe a lot of thanks and gratitude to Mr. Babcock for getting to know my son and seeing him as a person worth fighting for. Not only did Mr. Babcock help my son, but he also guided our family through the ups and downs of the process. His knowledge and caring attitude were invaluable. I believed in the beginning that Mr. Babcock was the right person for the job. I am now convinced that he was. I believe with ANY other attorney the conviction would have been catastrophic - a life sentence. I can not say enough good things about Mr. Babcock. He is honest, trustworthy, true to his word and more than anything else, he truly cares.

Desperately looking for an attorney for my mother, I came across the law office of MR RUSSELL. Decided to give it a try after reading good reviews. My mother was facing a federal criminal case after she was detained in Mexicali trying to enter the US Illegally..long story short . Mr Russell didn’t hesitate to visit her and give us updates of the case .. my mom was looking at a sentence of 6 months - 1 year .. but it all got reduced to only 63 days of already served time in jail ..
