We interviewed several attorneys prior to retaining Mr. Waltrip. We found him to be down to Earth, humble, and respectful; but truthful and frank. He listened to our story with sympathy and sensitivity. He was completely realistic and reasonably managed our expectations. Also, he offered some novel suggestions about how we could conduct the case. Another great benefit was the fact that he lived in and knew the county in which our case was to be heard and he was familiar with both the judge and the opposing counsel. During the run up to the trial date, he and his staff were communicative and responsive to our questions. He kept us hopeful but realistic. He and his paralegal continued to be kind and polite. On the day of the trial, he was prepared and organized (not in the most traditional way). I must admit I was concerned watching his notetaking style, however when it came time to question and cross-examine, his mind was sharp and his words were articulate, clear, and hard-hitting. It was fun to watch. He had the passion of a competitive athlete and was hungry for victory. He jabbed, parried, and then closed for a knockout. He left the opposition flummoxed and completely outplayed. We didn't even need to call our witnesses. The preparation for and the experience of court was arduous and sometimes painful, but the outcome was as good as we could have expected. I am grateful to Mr. Waltrip and would recommend him without prejudice or reservation.

Mr. Campbell is by far the worst court appointed attorney I have ever came across. I guess if he is actually getting paid to represent someone maybe he's okay. He does not communicate at all with his clients. The office staff is not at all helpful. They promise to get answers and that they'll get back to you but never do. I would never recommend This quack to anyone.

I can’t even describe how impressed and how much my expectations were exceeded with Mr. Waltrip. I had a fairly difficult custody case that he handled. From beginning to the end he was beyond professional and in court is really where he shined and that by far is the most important part of having an attorney. There wasn’t a moment that I wasn’t confident in his expertise or decorum in the courtroom. I left with an outcome that was better than I could have imagined. I credit that to Mr. Waltrip’s sound advise, leading and closing arguments and his knowledge of family law. I’ve had other attorneys in the area and let me say some are extremely costly and frankly just disappointing and inept. Finding a great attorney to handle such a delicate situation such as your child is not easy. I would recommend Mr. Waltrip to any of my family members or friends with 100% confidence.

All these reviews are either lies or the cases were too simple to fail. Contact me for court transcripts of his poor and negligent representation. The dude doesn't even clean up for court and tries to extend and extend your case because he doesn't care. My worst mistake was to trust him with my case. I ended up representing myself and he said he was withdrawing. I have all the emails if you care to find out more. Check Jen's review too

I'm not sure if the good reviews coming from friends and family members or what ...I was baffled by good reviews ..case was annulment for my daughter the dude doesn't talk in court at all he left us defenseless and definitely lost the case he was not prepared.. has terrible office, I don't recommend him at all even in simple cases

Larry Catlett was unprepared for our court dates. He ended up costing me thousands of dollars. I wonder if he suffers from dementia -- which may be the case, given his age and frame of mind. I would not hire him again.

Keith Jones and April Anderson worked as my legal team during a long divorce process. Keith presents a balanced demeanor with a gift for explaining the process in layman's terms. April ensures calls are scheduled and updates provided as she has them. After 39 years of marriage, having to go through a divorce was the last thing I ever thought I would have to do. Unfortunately, I did have to go through it and it would have been much harder for me to deal with if it were not for the efforts of Robert Miller, Owen Togna and the rest of the team at Smith Strong. “Recommendation”/tip (via family): If your case is being adjudicated in the County of Henrico, by all means, have Napier take it on, as she's very tight with members of this court system. I.e., When you’re dealing with a government institution like Henrico courts, network(ing) supersedes skill/expertise.

Colleen Quinn and her team have assisted with the adoption of both of our children. I contacted Chris to understand the process of a non-contested divorce. He met with me twice at no charge to gather information and help me understand the process, which he did expertly. He explained technical legal jargon clearly and answered all of my questions patiently. I felt confident and comfortable moving forward with the divorce through Evolution because of how well I was treated and how much I felt valued. I also interacted with several other members of Chris' team throughout this process and everyone was friendly, communicative, punctual with responses and paperwork, and extremely helpful overall. They really helped alleviate a lot of the stress and anxiety that can come with going through something like this. Now, for his Pre-Agreed Pricing: All my life, I've heard horror stories of exorbitant legal fees creating financial crises in people's lives. We have a very positive and rewarding experience with Alicia Finley, one of the attorneys at Barnes & Diehl. Our case was very complex and complicated because as grandparents we were seeking visiting privileges and eventually custody of our granddaughter. We had moved here from Greensboro, NC because the father had retained custody of the child after being absent from the child's life almost from birth. We were underrepresented by our attorney in Greensboro. We met first with the owner of the firm and he recommended Ms. Finley. She stepped in and took the time to understand and appreciate our granddaughter's situation. She took the time to get to know us and the role we had played in her life. The legal process took from 2018 to 2021 when we secured full physical and legal custody of our granddaughter. Ms. Finley leveraged her expertise and supported our mission. Most importantly, she is skilled in the legal processes and her court presence and knowledge played a significant role in this positive outcome. Her help in navigating the legal situation proved to be a key factor in getting what was the best for our grandchild.
