Cooper Hurley Injury Lawyers took my case, an automobile accident. I took me several months to recuperate (emotionally, mentally and physically) from that accident after having multiple fractures and lacerations. Tara Harris, and Jim Hurley handled my case. They were professional, reliable, and never overwhelmed me with information, or issues about the case while I was recuperating. Their staff were also very helpful, and friendly when I called. Mr. John klein helped me with my case in the beginning but after I paid him he stopped working on it for me, making me do the things as a lawyer that he should be doing far as getting me a settlement for my injury. I walk around every day limping and be in excruciating pain and I still haven't heard from this firm in months , maybe even a year. I wish I would of known about this firm before I went to them.

In my opinion, one will never find a better law firm than this anywhere nearby! Trust me! I was represented by Mr. Broome and my paralegal was Mr. Ray for my Divorce case. Both very knowledgeable Gentlemen. I felt peace of mind immediately after I consulted with Mr. Broome. In the past, I read somewhere that the 'law is sacred' but was skeptical to find a law firm that upholds it until I found Montagna Klein; especially coming from my previous law firm which was terribly terrible! (One with ads on radio. Hint: 'Hell for Men'.). The most distinguishable thing to notice about Montagna LLP is their humane approach to clients. And also, they charge you ONLY reasonably. If you don't believe me, just schedule a consultation with Mr. Broome (free consultation btw), and figure it out yourself, just by weighing the options they will put for you. Quality speaks itself, it does not need ads. I also want to write about certain negative comments written by some here. One of it is, they will not respond/ followup to your phone calls. I had experienced this myself a couple of times but I notified Mr. Ray about it and it was never repeated. If you are having such an experience, it simply means they are flooded with cases! You may ask the operator to speak to your paralegal directly or set up a one on one appointment. I know about Mr. Ray, who was my paralegal. He NEVER failed to respond to any of my queries and himself is a very knowledgeable person. Both Mr. Broome and Ray even look like those 'badass' attorneys you see in the movies.

I was a peacefully ( no criminal record black male) ordering a wawa hoagie, orange juice and pumping gas while being a law abiding citizen. There were no 911 calls or crimes commited within the area. I prepaid for gas at pump #6 then immediately falsely arrested for simply refusing to spell out my middle name to a racist white profiling norfolk police officer that had no respect for a black man's civil rights, without probable cause. I retained Lamondue (paid cash in full) provided him with a well detailed documented incident. Norfolk police department officer polaveck falsely arrested me with (NO ID) fail to give full legal name arrest charge. This virginia law code was repealed in 1996. The first thing the judge judge asked lamondue on our court date was if I was court appointed or retained. Im assuming the judge was taking a shot at his retained lawyer capabilities of having a living defendant for a court case or payola. It was weird but anyways he failed to object to a incompetent wawa loss prevention employee testimony of a witness that police subpeona from Richmond. This loss prevention witness testified with ( inadmissible testimony) no video proof, full of hearsay, not present at the scene and with not one clip out of all all the video cameras wawa have coverage on the property. I needed the wawa video For a slam dunk civil lawsuit. Lamondue he never challenged the witness like a defense lawyer is supposed to. My lawyer was so unprepared in general district court he wanted me to speak and the judge started asking me questions I was found guilty of a charge that didn't exist (lost). Then immediately Appealed out of embarrassment ( I paid in full) the appeal lawyer fees cost me an extra $1,000 cash with his discount price. Now he looks over all of my notes he made copies of when he was first retained. Starts discovery, doing footwork he was supposed to have done when I retained him for simple general district court case. He send subpeona for wawa camera #6 arrest video too late (deleted). Circuit court case is dismissed dirty cop and wawa loss prevention employee do a (no show). They were not prepared for this type of court action after lamondue goes by my notes. He (3 hours later) decides to call me and charge me for a court reporter appearance when there are court reporters in all circuit court criminal court cases anyways. Raked me out of $1500 then wanted extra $135 for a court reporter that was assigned to our court room for that day anyways. A honest retained lawyer would of informed cash paying client that a court reporter is court funded in criminal circuit court cases. The appellate reviews what's said based on the circuit court reporter files. Lamondue knows how to get maximum dollars with minimum performance. Turned a simple $400 dollar case into $1635. He screwed me and said he would go after city attorney on my behalf . I hope he didn't do that behind my back the only thing i recieved from him were court reporter invoices after that. I tried to give the brother a second chance because we all have that hidden situation that is always downplayed but he let me down twice.

Bottom line up front: This is the best attorney firm I’ve EVER worked with! This review is not about whether are not my case ended successfully. The merits of each case are different. Circumstances are what they are. This review is about my attorney and the firm. William Nexsen provided me with excellent representation. I have been more than pleased with his ethics and professionalism. Mr. Nexsen was always prepared, and he did a fantastic job of preparing my to deal with my case. Always calling it like it is, Mr. Nexsen stayed focused on case documentation, the individuals involved in the case, and timelines required for resolution of issues. I also became keenly aware of how well Mr. Nexsen understood the overall feel of the court and the various judges who presided of it. In addition to Mr. Nexsen’s merits, it would also be appropriate to discuss the firm’s staff. There wasn’t one time that I called that wasn’t met with the utmost in professionalism. Even if I had to leave a message, the call was obviously properly routed for a prompt return call. The staff at the Decker, et.al. firm seemed to either have all the answers and paperwork ready on time, or they took the necessary steps to ensure everything was handled exactly as required to do a competent job with my situation. If you want to have someone tell you to settle on what the prosecutor is going to do because they appear to be buddy buddy and visually rubbing elbows with everyone who stands against you, then waste your 2K + on Pete Decker lll. When it came time to go to court he told me to settle for the outcome. The end result of this was the loss of my 15 year career! He allowed the prosecution to slander my character while I stand in uniform with not a single objection! He allowed the prosecution to announce false statements on the veterans and active duty members of our Commonwealth and again, not a single objection. This experience appeared to be more of a social hour then a commitment to a duty to serve those who sought his popular assistance. He was not prepared to ask questions, in fact, barely asked any. Afterwards, he'll smile proudly with an audacious explanation of "it's exactly what WE expected." In fact, it's nothing of what I expected from a lawyer to 'defend' me! Worst time I have ever had to endure with a lawyer! Any other attorney will do. You would probably do a better job at representing yourself than he does! Do not waste your money! Lastly, this Commonwealth needs to understand the value of our veteran community. In four years, Virginia will be ranked as the fourth largest state with the highest veteran population. With that said, it's important to recognize the path our service members have taken in their career. I hope I don't need to be specific. Actions are never excusable, however look for the REASON of the action and the common denominator in the behavior. Find an avenue for service members to seek a positive outcome in a time of trouble versus forcing them down the same path with no hope of a better outcome. Clearly not asking to change a law, but find a program better suited to lead our veteran community when they need help. From one veteran to another, stay away from this law firm!
