He had his legal assistant call me to gather a little information about what I experienced. He had her call me back about 20 minutes later to let me know he passed on the case. I have documentation and witnesses that I was subjected to a hostile work environment for months, retaliated against for bringing up safety concerns and company policy violations by my peers. I am also owed for unpaid wages. The legal assistant said he said I gave up certain rights when I resigned (instead of continuing to be retaliated against in an hostile AND unsafe work environment) but that I should pursue a wage claim on my own. THIS IS NOT TRUE. By resigning, I made the case more difficult, I did not give up my rights. I hate excuses. Simply say, “I’m passing on the case because I do not want to take it on.” His legal assistant also stated the wrong statute of limitations on our initial call (I had already looked it up.) she backtracked by saying well,I’m not a lawyer so I’ll have to double check with him. Glad he passed.

BEWARE!!! The first good note is to see this Man , Mr. Deon Choyce no longer practices criminal Law. Mr. Choyce came to the county jail to attempt to get me to hire him on a case matter and he secretly recorded our conversation and when I did NOT retain him for that specific matter he forwarded our conversation that he was secretly recording over to Detectives for the police dept. Do Not put your trust nor hard earned money in this mans wallet . I am not big on leaving reviews as this law firm is more to it then Mr Choyce himself . He has honest employees at his office I’m sure of it but Mr. Choyce is not trust worthy and do not go thru what I had to experience. There are many of other “ choices “ out there I would highly recommend looking into those options if need any type of legal representation. I was involved in an accident, and stupidly, did NOT hire a legal team after the accident. It was a minor accident, but I definitely needed treatment for the pain. I ended up being taken advantage of my the opposing party's insurance and even a place that was treating me! Aside from the initial meeting which was pleasant everything from there went downhill. Communication only happened after REPEATED contact from either myself or my husband and even then was poor at best. There was much confusion about what was even happening. Rather then fight for us we had to repeatedly request and press for common rights within the worker’s compensation system. I feel strongly like this may be a “back pocket” office and they are more in it to work with certain companies workers compensations divisions, get a percentage for taking the referrals, then make a show but no results, compassion, instruction or care for the injured workers rights they are hired to represent. We hired an attorney because we did not have a good understanding of the worker’s compensation system. We would have been better off to navigate it on our own then have representation by this office. I say this as a person who started this case with zero knowledge of WC law, that changed when I begin to work in it myself and I saw just how shoddily my husband had been handled and treated. We lost our home due to his injury. He can no longer pick up our children, go on hikes as a family and so many other things! Would have been nice if our attorney who was PAID TO HELP US could have at least called once in awhile. Or maybe viewed the Man who is the center of our family as more then a dollar sign! Enjoy the funds you didn’t earn sir! Please, if you are considering hiring this office for your sake and well being go elsewhere.
